Wild About Pets is a great pet store. They will likely have what you need for your aquarium, aviary, dogs and cats. Probably have things for domesticated rodents and your snakes too. They don't sell dogs or cats though (thank goodness). But do have fish, a couple snakes, a couple birds, and rats (hopefully not to feed the snakes, but?)

I came in and grabbed 2 bags of food. I went to the counter and waited. And waited. One employee that I saw briefly upon entering was out of sight. The other, a white haired lady, was leisurely helping a customer. After she was done, she stood in the aisle completely in sight of the register and was looking at the products. She should have seen me to her right. I thought, she must not have authority to use the register, and was thinking of other reasons why she was leaving me standing there, ready to check out. I looked for a bell to ring but there was none. A bell is needed there. Finally she sees me and comes to check me out. She told someone waiting behind me, I'll be right with you, which I didn't appreciate, having been ignored for so long. I think I'll order the food online from now on.

I hadn't been here for a year or more and was happy to see they notably got new flooring and a new layout that flows well. Years ago it used to have an unpleasant smell from the live animals kept, but that's totally gone now and it's light and bright in there, I loved it! I was happy to see all the dog foods and treats that were dehydrated meats and high quality ingredients and most were grain and sugar free, so all higher quality brands at a fair price too. They had dehydrated raw food too and even extremely picky dogs tend to love that and it's so nutritionally dense. I look forward to going there again in the future for chews for my dog, training treats, and maybe some dehydrated raw food if travelling with my dog and need the convenience of it. The employees were super kind and helpful answering all of my questions too. I felt very welcome. (:

Try calling this store and after listening to four different prompts, you select #4 to speak to someone at the store, which is why you call in the first place. HOWEVER, that is not a valid option and your call is over. For clarity, I wanted one thing from this store and do not frequent, but I had to order online.

Have received great customer service from various staff who are always helpful and friendly. Easy to find great products at reasonable prices here. We've purchased food, healthy treats and cozy/comfortable fleece sweaters for our weiner dogs, perfect length (hard to find).

Bought 5 fish. 2 died the next day. I did what was requested and brought the water sample, dead fish and receipt in. Gal did a "water" sample and said my water was off the charts, especially chlorine. I proceeded to tell her I'm on well water and do not have chlorine and she argued that point, pretty much insinuating I didn't know what I was talking about. Then didn't even offer me anything to help my tank levels but sold me a conditioner for water which when I told her what I had at home she said it wasn't the same stuff. Then I had to ask for testing strips so I could keep an eye on my levels. Once home the test strips didn't even test for what she said I needed and the conditioner was the same as what I had. Now the punch point! When I returned that afternoon to return the items, she told me that my water condition only eliminates the bad partials which doesn't get rid of them! What? That's what eliminates means lady!! And they wouldn't take test strips back and said we don't carry the more specific ones. So not only am I out $20 on fish, I've got test strips in which do not apply to me and alot of water conditioner. All that to just not give me 2 more fish I feel in my experience. Will not return. Thx!!

Super cute little store inside. I was surprised as to how many things are in there and the prices were way better than buying at a store. There is everything pertaining to pets. I'm going back to get my daughtersvcats treats and toys. I'm gladbi stopped to check it out and I'll be going back.

Just visited the store to purchase a wire kennel for my new pup. The 3 people who helped me were amazing, knew their stock, extremely helpful in getting me the right size kennel, the proper car harness, toy and we talked about proper feeding, etc. I shop locally as often as possible and this pet store has better prices than even Amazon. The store is well stocked and pet friendly. Thank you for great service and a friendly attitude.

New ownership it seems. They remodeled the store, cleaned it up well, declutterd and organized. Very different place from a year ago. Staff was also friendly and helpful. Great job!!.

We got a baby rat from here. The staff were kind and spent a lot of time talking to my son about rats and animals.This is the best store and the only pet store in town. They are very knowledgeable about pets. We get our pets treats from there it's all good quality stuff.

A nice selection of fish, the stock rotates often enough you might find something new, and the staff is ~very~ helpful and friendly!A little pricier for their fish than the chains up in Missoula, but then again I don't waste the gas money, nor get near the frustration of driving in city traffic (live in Darby), so the trade-off of having the convenience of the store near to hand balances out their cost difference.I will continue to shop there. 🙂

This store has everything that I need, from food to accessories, and I don’t have to wait a week for amazon prime delivery. Prices are in line with Missoula stores and online shopping. Staff is nice. What’s not to like.Update: Also want to add that I saw a lot of comments on a Facebook page where people were asking others to come leave negative reviews for this store and Ace in Hamilton. They said this store required masks during the pandemic so they deserve bad reviews and that will “send a message”. They’re also mad because this store and Ace support the local lgbtq community. So taking bad reviews since the start of 2020 with a grain of salt. There’s nothing wrong with this place, the cleanliness, or the staff. It’s a good pet supply store.

Odd hours, as many small businesses are, but a nice local place to get the things you need for your pets, always friendly too!! I'm thankful they are in my hometown, where, otherwise, I would have to drive an hour to get live pet foods.

I would rather drive 1 hour to a pet store in Missoula than go here. I love supporting small and local businesses so I was really disappointed by this establishment. The store does not seem to be cleaned often and had a horrible stench, unlike any other pet store I have been too. Store attendants are rude, ignore the phone and even customers at their counter. When you do get someone to answer a question they are belittling and tell you what you need rather than making suggestions. I have a cat with allergies and I was told that my cat “would just have to get over them”. 0/10 would not recommend

The staff is friendly and helpful, great products to choose from. I love that they are open past 5:00. I wish they had more live feeders for reptiles but that's not very realistic in such a small town.

Everybody is very nice and answers your questions. I think it is great that the owner gets her pet food from smaller companies that haven't had recalls. I would rather buy local anyways, I had problems with a pet food online firm that got sold. When you buy local you know your pets food will always be there. I will always buy my pets food there.

This business not only carried the highest quality Canadian dog food that I used to get when I lived in Canada but they are also super kind, helpful, and offer a wonderful selection, Especially for being a small town bitterroot pet store. They are open and kind to people of all walks of life to feel safe in their space and I think that is amazing. (Of course kindness will always receive kindness) Way to be not just a roll model for pet supplies to be of high quality but a roll model for love and acceptance in a sometimes cruel world. May all beings big and small, human and non human be happy, healthy and free of suffering.

Wanted to support local and have specific fish ordered. Wasn't given a clear answer on if they could. I will still go back because other times they have been amazing. I love all the bearded dragon products they carry!!

I bought 2 fish to add to my tank at home. Within a week those 2 fish died and then my whole tank died.I have had this tank with fish for 3 years. The owner said my water was bad and would not do anything about it. The 2 latest fish I bought from her killed all my other fish.I'll never go into that store again.
