I wish I could give this place a 0 star. I went there yesterday and the place is disgusting. The first thing that troubled me was a puppy that was matted. Its hair was so overgrown it couldn't see. The fish tanks are disgusting. There is so much algae that has grown in them you can barely see the fish. I'm not sure how they are even alive still. I'm not sure if they have ever cleaned the tanks due to how filthy they were. The place smelled horrific as well. I know animals don't always smell the best but this was on another level. I wanted to cry with the way the animals are being treated. I don't recommend this place at all

We were visiting Great Falls and had to pass on entry as we saw a larger puppy being held in a fish tank at the entry, I can’t stop thinking about it. How this location hasn’t been approached by the city or animal rescue?? Also the smell as you walk by….

They wanted 300 for a cockatiel I offered 250 cause I could get one at 150. I wanted to pay more to support a mom and pop store. Once I gave my offer I was thrown to the side. I work at a competition store in town. I even told them. But they wouldn't even budge. Bad business. I can't believe they wouldn't haggle or even try to sell anything. This place is a joke and cruel

As a pet owner and a reasonable human I found this place heart breaking. The smell was horrific, there are animals kept on old fish tanks in the windows. Everything was filthy, the fish tanks are discussing. No self respecting animal lovers would give this place business. They have are no right calling themself a pet store. Skip the middle man and go straight to a reputable breeder if you must by a puppy. Go to Petco or PetSmart for birds, aquatic life or reptiles. Please don't keep this place in business by giving them your hard earned money

I went in there today and was looking at the puppies & saw that there were doors to pet them beside the cages so I went in there to pet them. The girl working there basically verbally assaulted me, asking what was wrong with me, why would I go in there, nobody’s allowed to pet the dogs, etc. My friend and I apologized, but she just kept berating us and chastising us. There were no locks or signs saying we weren’t allowed to pet the dogs so I had no idea, and a simple “hey you can’t pet the dogs” would have sufficed. I have never encountered such unprofessionalism nor been in any pet store ever where you can’t pet or interact with the animals. Overall worst pet store I’ve ever seen. I feel bad for the overpriced puppies that can’t have any human affection while stuck behind bars and glass.

We have gotten several pet over the years. Growing up her in Great Falls we are always concerned about the cleanliness of the establishment and their tanks. Recently we purchased some tank additives to help control the cloudiness. The displayed options were surely showing age, yellowing stained and brittle. I chose what I thought was the best thing. Hmmm did not work.

I am sick to my stomach hearing about how these people cage animals. They aren’t properly cared for, they aren’t clean, and they have confetti all over the inside of their cages, in their water and food bowls, and in the corners of their eyes. The place is not welcoming at all, very eerie. The governor and local humane society have both been contacted and nothing has been done. This is completely inhumane and this place needs to be shut down. Those animals are dying in cages and you guys are trying to profit off of them! They need help! I will be sharing this story in hopes it goes viral. This place should be forced to be shut down. Those animals deserve better, and you know it.

It smelled a little but the lady was very nice and let us hold the dog for as long as we want. No pet shop is going to smell amazing so this was just a normal if not better pet shop to me. The dogs were super gentle and didn’t move around a hole lot when you pick them up.

Would give 0 stars if possible, their dogs are kept in old fish tanks!!! Dogs look SO sad they are obviously so unhealthy,malnourished and not given any love... THIS NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN, animal cruelty at its finest, as a dog owner this saddens my heart

Walking through this store shattered my heart into millions of pieces. The place is a puppy mill. When we asked where they get the puppies, the owner shot back a snarky response about how dogs come from other dogs… I think he was missing the point. Anyways, dogs deserve better than being kept in dirty fish tanks with water bowls full of wood chips. Don’t trust places like this or breeders who do business through them.

Jacks pet store has to be one of the least kept pet shops I’ve ever seen, and I travel the country and love to check them all out. The cleanliness is well below standards, the organization is dang near nonexistent, the animals are all kept in cramped tiny cages, and their animals are way over priced.These guys have NEVER been a “growing small shop”, in fact not a single thing has changed in the last 20 years of me walking down town and occasionally looking in to see how poor the animals are.It genuinely amazing me how they can stay open and operate a barely legal back yard breeding area as long as they have.I will go as far to say as the ONLY thing this store is good for is live mice and rats, as those seem to be the only kept-up cages in the whole store.No amount of knowledge of anything is valuable when your store looks the way it does.There has been SEVERAL attempts to get this place closed, and I’ll make sure I’m at the front lines when they do.Think twice before going into this store to buy anything; they aren’t what they seen. I’ve heard more than a few stories from previous employees about the store and investors of the “company”…Be weary with this store.

A cesspool of a place that needs shut down. The poor animals are neglected and left to slowly rot. Flies covering a dehydrated and dying puppy in the display window, cats and dogs riddled with disease in a smelly, unkempt shop. Filth covering every surface. Fishtanks full of algae and dead fish. Do not support these awful people!

Bought my very best friend from this place. Honestly, animal shelters are disgusting too, but my dog I purchased here is one of the best dogs I've ever had in my life. Fast forward two years, I called and asked if they knew if the same breeder had a litter on the way or anything because I really wanted a sibling for my pup. I had the money, called them, and these people were SO RUDE I could not believe it. When trying to run a business and sell people lifelong companions you'd think professionalism, kindness, and patience would be given to the customer. The owner called and said she'd call me back. I won't hold my breath. Maybe if they were nicer to people everyone wouldn't hate them so much. Now I get it.

I wish I could give negative stars. Came to great falls from alberta for the weekend and stopped in here my goodness I’ve never been so upset in a pet store. I don’t know how this place has been allowed to stay open, the dogs are in fish aquariums and teeny rooms with hamster water dispensers for water. Dogs are panting and look so depressed. I would love to report this place but I have no idea how as I’m not from here. I wish I could take all these dogs out. They offer you less money if you don’t ask for paper work? Seems like a terrible place. The whole store was in disarray and just absolutely disgusting.

Even if most people in Great Falls hate this place, I accept their right to do business. I recognize that the animals in their cages and shelters appear gloomy and that they can smell and appear nasty. But from there, I rescued my BEST white Siberian husky FRIEND. Due to my curiosity about my dog's ancestry, I requested and was given an AKC-Certified Pedigree family tree, which is quite informative.

I don't know where to even start, this place needs shut down! The smell is awful ( feces) , enough to make you vomit. The animals cages were all filthy, everything had cobwebs and thick layers of dust on it , fish tanks full of fungus and algae, ID be afraid to buy any animal from there due to the fact they all may be sick. Those poor animals.

Store has no ventilation and the smell is atrocious. Animals are living in horrible living conditions and all appear to be depressed and neglected. The animals are WAY over priced and are kept in small cramped fish tanks that are not clean at all. The owners don't appear to care for the animals, only as commodities. Do not support this puppy mill store. They need to be shut down and be put out of business. I pray that the animals are saved and go to good homes.

I’ve seen an upgrade since the last time we visited. The shelving and space overall is cleaner than before. The woman at the desk was very sweet. There’s still an overwhelming grimy look in the fish tanks, which makes me avoid them, but mostly I noticed improvements this time. Before it was ghastly!
