Absolutely wonderful experience at this location! Room was fantastic and the perfect base camp for Yellowstone excursions. Had more then enough living space all the amenities I could ask for and it was in really good shape. Heat/cooling worked wonderfully was super dog friendly and kid friendly! A playground on site and lots of room for a kid to spread out in the room. Honestly would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with family, dogs, or just a nicer spot to stay other than a basic hotel room. Will be coming back here as often as I visit Yellowstone on this side of the park.Rooms: Great space. Pots, pans, instant pot, blender, coffee pot full kitchen. About 5 beds in the rooms multiple couches fantastic space all around.Nearby activities: Barely 2 mins from the park entrance also directly across from the grocery store. Perfect location to get around downtown.Walkability: Walkable to the grocery store and most food locations downtown.Noteworthy details: Super pet friendly and a quiet area and just right everything you would want it to be. Easy to have normal meals even when on vacation.

Their room is too good to be true for the price. They are facilitated with a very nice full kitchen. The hotel is perfectly located next to a grocery store. Their room view is the magnificent snow mountains due to a snow storm. There are many elks around. I can see them daily. With a short walk you can see even more of them.Their staff was very nice. My bike pump was left on the other side of the park. The owner bought me a new one and helped me pump the bike.I wish there are more stars. They made my stay at Gardiner awesome.

We stayed during winter with a group of 4 adults and we were really happy with our choice. It was also nicely shoveled for snow. Independent hotels can sometimes be a miss, but this one is great. It's clean, great location, nice amenities with the little kitchenette (with coffee, cream and sugars) and all the hide-aways beds. There are DVDs and games in the lobby, and the staff is friendly. Easy check-in. It gave the impression the owners take pride in the place and take good care of it and their guests.Nearby activities: Yellowstone National Park, biking, river rafting, hot springs.Walkability: The grocery store is just across the street and there are restaurants in walking distance.Noteworthy details: Lobby has DVDs, the couches are hide-aways. Can really pack people in if you would need to.

This was one of the most comfortable motels I have stayed in. Don't judge a book by its cover. It's an older place, but the room had a very high-end bed, real heavy comfortable blankets, and large pillows, and there were even extras. There was a full kitchen, dishes, full-size fridge, and nice things you would own in your own home. High and coffee maker and real coffee. Nice furniture, not the cheap corporate motel garbage. It was so comfortable and well set up. It was like being in my own home. I just can't express enough how comfortable it is, and really nicely furnished. And it was priced really good for the area and competition. I will definitely be back there again when I pass through in the future.

Great, quiet place to sleep and stay. We got lucky, don't chance it and make a reservation!! We got into our "room" and thought we had made a mistake. This was a full-blown house!!! This place has everything you need for a single night or a full week in the area. It's really clean and quiet. Lots of restaurants, bars, and the river close by. Groceries right across the street

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabins are really nicely furnished, with lots of room and all the amenities you could ask for. They’ve really thought of everything. You can borrow from their extensive DVD collection or do your laundry there too, and it’s really close to the supermarket and food options. They are also really pet friendly and provide bed and couch covers. Would stay there again!

My fiance and I stayed at the River House last week in the queen sized bed apartment with the washing machine and dryer. The apartment was a great location, about ten minutes outside of the center of the town of Gardiner, and probably 15 minutes from the entrance of Yellowstone. It was very spacious, very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, laundry detergent, coffee, towels, etc. It was a major plus having access to a washing machine and dryer. We did have a couple minor issues while we stayed and I had reached out to the front desk manager once we returned home. He was very polite, and made things right. I would definitely recommend staying here. You walk out of your door to a nice big deck which overlooks the river. It was very quiet and peaceful.

My husband and I were only there for 1 night, but it was a lovely experience. The grounds and rooms are extremely well cared for. The room was so clean and cozy. The living room was very relaxing, the dining room perfect for the carry out we picked up, and the bedroom was so comfortable. The decor really brought in the woodsy feeling of the area. It didn't feel like a motel room, it was like a perfect little apartment. My favorite part though were the elk roaming the parking lot!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here. There was only one woman working, but she was friendly and kind and made us feel at ease while showing us to our room. Our room was well decorated and struck a great balance between feeling homey and not feeling “lived in”. Decor was rustic and it felt like staying in a cabin, but the sheets and bathroom felt as clean and fresh as any franchise hotel. Water pressure was great, and the room was fitted with two smart TVs so we could unwind with some shows after a long day at the park. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be staying here again when we’re next in the area!

Room was poor. Visible mold was in the shower and the room had a "funky" odor on arrival. The HVAC unit was very loud and it also smelled gross while it was running.Noteworthy details: A large piece of equipment was parked in the handicap parking spots.

We rented one of their 'cabin' rooms, and it was very well furnished and felt more like a small apartment than a hotel room. The closest approximation would be a more cabin themed 'Residence Inn' than anything else, and that's a good thing. The main bedroom had a king size bed, the other bedroom had a full size, and the two pull out couches were surprisingly comfortable. Most hide-a-bed couches feel like you're sleeping on the top of a military vehicle because of the frame, but not these. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utinsiles and felt like we were at home. The views from the rooms are stunning (given you're facing south). The cabin we had faced across the valley at the north side of Yellowstone and the view was gorgeous. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

I was leary as for some reason it says 3-star hotel, but we absolutely LOVED this place. We went in late Oct and they had turned the heat on and we walked it and it was so warm and cozy. Absolutely perfect stay for a family. My boys LOVED how the elk were literally RIGHT out our door ALL the time!! Loved having a full kitchen and a grocery store right across the street. Recommend this place all the time now.

A+++!!! HIGHLY recommend! Awesome place, Awesome price, AWESOME host! This place was amazing! More like a one bedroom apartment, than a hotel room. Impecably clean with nice furnishings, and cute rustic decor. The attention to detail was amazing. Stocked with a full size kitchen, fridge, oven, two flat screen TV's, and everything you need! So cozy and very private. There we're even deer roaming around outside. Carrie is amazing! We booked online and she was waiting for us when we arrived. She greeted us by name and was so kind to bring us a card after learning we had just lost a loved one. She gave us a personal walk through and showed us how to use the remote (twice) without hesitation. This place was like a home away from home. Looking forward to going back someday! Thanks for the amazing hospitality!!!

Great little place for a winter weekend at Yellowstone. After a day of cross country skiing in the park the room was perfectly warm to come back to. The kitchen is well stocked with all your appliances. Which you'll want in the winter cause Gardiner is pretty well shut down. The staff personally showed us the room and explained where anything was and how to use things. So attentive. And the location would be amazing in the summer with its proximity to the main street.

Blown away by the level of detail and thought these people have put into the rooms here. We had a king suite with a kitchen (stocked with everything we needed in terms of cookware) and a living room. Everything was clean and cozy, and they even stocked us up with organic coffee, tea and beauty products for the bathroom. 10/10 highly recommend

This place is just heaven. This review is very late, but my husband and I went there last August for our first-year anniversary. We had visited before for an extended stay, and one of the rooms was very meaningful to us. We showed up there without a reservation, unsure if we were going to stay a night or just camp. We explained our story about the special room, and the man not only got us into our preferred room (he had to switch a reservation around), he brought us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. We adore this place! It's so comfy, immaculately clean, and elk often come to hang out in the yard. I can't recommend Yellowstone Gateway enough :)

Such a cute, clean, affordable place to stay! As soon as we walked in I was in love and wished we could stay longer! The bed was super comfy and the amenities were abundant. Microwave, fridge, coffee accessories, utensils, plates, cups, large tv, working thermostat, etc. Definitely recommend!!

Super cute little place. Wonderful staff and very clean. They did a great job of the remodel a few years ago. Was so much nicer than I had expected. They thought of lots of details, tons of space for luggage and toiletries. Our unit had a small kitchen and eating area. Really enjoyed the little porch area with views of the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay here for our trip to Yellowstone. It’s very close to the north entrance to the park and is surrounded by restaurants and a grocery store which is directly across the street. We stayed in a suite with our dogs which was a huge bonus because it’s difficult to find pet-friendly accommodations so close to the park. The unit was bright, clean and the perfect size for a couple. Having a full kitchen was very convenient to be able to cook breakfast and dinner for ourselves. So was having free WiFi, cable TV, and two very powerful ACs! So much detail is put into everything including organic body care products. The staff are very nice and low-key. Mike the owner was extremely helpful at answering questions before I booked our reservation and very accommodating to our room preference. I highly recommend this place for your Yellowstone visit. I did a lot of research on lodging before booking our trip and this was the best place I found. It definitely did not disappoint.

The rooms are clean. The kitchen is stocked to help us prepare our meals. There is plenty of room. We enjoy coming out in the morning and have wildlife right in the front yard. We like the close proximity to downtown. Close to the entrance of the park. We recommend The Yellowstone Gateway Inn with high marks.

Clean, quiet, and friendly staff. We picked this place on the ratings and we were not disappointed. The outside look does not do it justice. The inside was great. Our very roomy 2 bedroom unit was well equipped. They even had 8 extra large towels just for the boiling river in the park. The kids loved the elk wandering through the parking lot. Thank you Michael for a great stay.

Very enjoyable accommodations, exceeded our expectations. The room had a completely equipped kitchen, you can tell they have there guests comfort in mind as it was like having whatever utensils you would have at home. Beds were very comfortable. Very clean room, WiFi was great, loads of TV stations. Front desk staff was very helpful and sought to provide the best room to fit my family. Definitely would book here again. Thank you YGI for a fantastic stay.
