From reading the other reviews, it seems as though there are vast differences in the quality of the various rooms. While my husband and I were not expecting "fancy," we were definitely underwhelmed. Not only was the room very tiny with only the minimal essentials provided, our room did not feel as clean as other reviewers have reported. The young lady who checked us in from the local store was friendly and helpful, though. Basically, it was a place to sleep in reasonable proximity to Glacier without spending an arm and a leg.

Good stay, great room--very large and comfortable. Parking was...awkward. Fortunately it was not full because I don't know how it would've worked if it was because when we got there with just 2 other cars there we had issues because the other people parked funny and didn't really leave room for others to get in easily without blocking each other. Not a huge issue, the area is quiet and I'm sure you could park elsewhere in a pinch. Check in at the general store down the road was fine.

To say this Motel is nice is an understatement.Cleanliness ✔️Hospitality ✔️Comfortable ✔️Location ✔️We took the Amtrak from Milwaukee to hike and camp GNP. We were not allowed to carry Bear Spray or Butane on the train. The owner said no worries, it'll be waiting in your room. wOw!To top it off, our rooms were spotless, reasonably priced, and super comfortable. I would stay here a 1000X over. I will be back. Thank you Whistling Swan for a much needed peaceful rest before and after our hike. You're the best!

Wish I had a room the size and look that they have in the photos here. We stayed in a very tiny room with a very uncomfortable rickety old chair. The bathroom was so small, you almost could take a shower, sit on the toilet and wash your hands in the sink at the same time. Orbitz charged us way over the price that was advertised by the motel which I didn't realize until I arrived. Best bet, take a look at the room before deciding. However, the location was very good and made getting to the park a breeze. This has nothing to do with the motel but this town is a bit depressing.

Great staff, easy check in, dog friendly, clean/new sheets/towels.No deadbolt and the door was a little small for the jamb, but a chair can be used to secure the door overnight.Outside looks rough, but surprised by how nice the rooms were. Overall, good experience.Rooms: Clean sheets, new towels

Whistling Swan was one of the few Places to stay available on our recent trip to Glacier, when we first arrived we were not sure what we were getting into, and when we saw the outside we were even more skeptical. However to our pleasant surprise, the hosts were extremely friendly, (Located down the street at the local grocery store) Once we walked into our rooms, we were pleasantly surprised. it was very clean, comfortable. In fact it was one of the better places we stayed. When we come back we will definitely staying here again.

This place is top notch. All of the staff including the owner went above and beyond for me and my friend. I would give this place 100 Stars if Google would let me. If you are ìn need of a room look no further this is the best of the best in East glacier. I will definitely be back. Thank you all so much. Can't wait to see you again!!

Due to prior bad experience with hotels/motels, we called the day prior, to confirm our reservation. We were advised check-in would be at the only grocery store in town, which is only a few blocks from the motel. We wanted to see where our motel was located first, to get a feel for it, before check-in. Upon arrival, not gonna lie, we thought we got scammed, since the place looked vacant, with unmaintained bushes. Thankfully, we called prior, so we knew it was operational. Went to said grocery store, was instructed how to get in and park, and which rooms were ours. Exterior condition could definitely use some up-keep. Interior condition, on the other hand, was EXCELLENT! We ended up having our own kitchen, with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dining table, etc.! The 2 rooms had soft beds, pillows, and blankets! Bathroom was a bit tight, but it served its purpose. Overall, we'll recommend this place!

Was here for the Glacier Half Marathon. Mark took such good care of us even before we arrived, helping with directions when we get off the train & overall communication. The staff at the Trading Company and the Two Medicine Grill could not have been more friendly, courteous and helpful. We're so lucky to stay here as other places in the village did not take very good care of their guests. The room was clean, everything worked. Our housekeeper Carlene went above and beyond. It's a quaint village. We'll be back. Many thanks to all of you!

We just stayed at the Whistling Swan Motel after a day of hiking in East Glacier and it was just what we needed. The motel is about an hour drive outside the St Mary's Visitor Center in east glacier. The owner, Mark, was extremely kind and patient and was also able to give a lot of recommendations about the area. We stayed in a room with two double beds that included a fridge, microwave, WiFi, and direct TV. The beds were super comfy and we all slept well. The bathroom was large and heated(!) which was awesome after a cold day in the park. The woodwork was awesome in the room and around the motel itself. As mentioned in the other comments, there is a train near the motel that goes by intermittently but it never woke us up and I'm pretty sure it is hard to escape if you're looking for places to stay in east glacier. Also, shout out to the restaurant Serrano's about a block away that had awesome Mexican food! Would definitely stay here again!

Great place! The owner, Mark, provided a memorable experience. Came to pick us up from the station, and was more than helpful. Quite knowledgeable about the area and extremely friendly. Don't be put off by the exterior, as the rooms are beautiful inside. Room 8 has an amazing woodwork and the beds are quite comfortable. Trains do rumble by at night, but they weren't loud enough to wake us up.

This is a nice, cozy motel. The owner does a great job at accommodating. Our room temperature was comfortable, the shower and bathroom and bedding were all very clean. Lots of wall outlets. Very near the AmTrak and the rest of town (restaurants). This isn't 5-Stars when you think of fancy, but it's 5-Stars in service and hospitality!

We were delighted to stay here... the owners Mark Howser and Colleen O'Brien were wonderful to us as were their staff! They picked us up at our train station, put us up at their Whistling Swans Hotel for the night, worked out a wonderful car rental as the AVIS rep.s in the area, and gave us ideas of what to do in the area. We shopped in their East Glacier Trading Post, which you need to stop through and see it is great... and we caught a good Breakfast made by the delightful staff at the Two Medicine Grill! I spent long hours researching this vacation and was worried about the train being late, getting our 300 lbs. of camping gear to the hotel, a need to book a bigger car at the last moment, and having to find an internet connection and Mark and his staff took care of it all. Although other car rentals had reviews that included a lot of bad reports, all I found for Mark were grateful customers. He has really nice large rooms with nice reworked bathrooms. If you are on a tight budget like us he also has kept some of his old time little rooms that are adorable, old knotty pine, with reworked bathrooms, just go in knowing they are little and the bathrooms are small... they were just fine for us, I enjoyed them and my husband wanted me to write him and find out what kind of mattresses he had they were so soft! We will certainly return. Oh and you can walk from the hotel to the store/restaurant and train station.

We liked the "cabin" feel of the room 5 and the bed but the walls are really thin and you can hear trains passing by every 30 minutes (not that I mind but someone might) or the person in the room next to yours. Curiously the walls are thick enough to let pass almost no cell service and the wifi is very very poor (I had to get out of the room to post a picture online). The shower was in pretty bad shape with its doors hardly closing, and it was not very clean with hairs around it. This is not what you can expect for 95$, even if its near a national park. If you're looking for a good night rest it's ok, but don't be too picky.

Clean room, comfy bed, fast internet connection, friendly staff and sevice that was above-and-beyond expectations. The manager loaned us two guides to hiking in Glacier Park. My husband forgot his phone and charger in the room. We were hundreds of miles away when he realized they were missing. The motel manager mailed them back to us. He made these basic accommodations into an exceptional experience.

Checkin is a few doors down, as well as some of the basic things you may want (coffee, extra toilet paper, ice...)- not sure if that’s normal or per unusual circumstances. The room was clean and the bathroom was recently and nicely remodeled. Outside Could use some TLC.

I stayed here last summer with my daughter and was so impressed by the extremely clean, unique room! The bathroom was absolutely spotless, too. The owner was very nice and the place is kept up with impeccable care. I highly recommend it.

Great place. Great people. Affordable rates. Room #10 was very nice. Satellite TV, WiFi, fridge, queen bed, and modern accommodations. The only con is the railway. Its nearby and might keep you up at night if you aren't used to it.
