Stopped by this summer - cool little saloon just off the I90. They've got any drink you could imagine, pool tables and some good eats. I didn't actually stay in the hotel but the pics looked good and it's the only locale from Billings to Forsyth to stay overnight and I wouldn't be afraid to stay overnight other than getting a little tipsy in the saloon! Highly recommended

What a great little place, right off the main road. The rooms are small, but cozy and very clean. It feels more like a guest room in your house, rather than a motel room. The soft bath mats around the sink and in the bathroom were very much appreciated. The shaded porch with seating right out your door is a great place to relax at the end of the day.Don't let the 'Saloon' in the name dissuade you from checking out these comfy rooms!

Came in to this sleepy country roadside establishment. It was clean, the service was fast and friendly and the burgers tasted better than most places we ate along our journey through Montana. Definitely going to make this a stop when we come back in the fall . Very pleased that the prices where suitable for our two burgers and drinks . Good to know we can get a great meal at a affordable price.

Exactly what I needed as a single able-bodied traveller trying to drive across the country quickly. Midway between origin and destination, handy to the freeway, priced @ $110, wifi, ac, very friendly "front desk" service on the phone and at the bar. Room was clean, check-in and checkout easy. Technically ADA compliant, but the ramp is long and the steepest allowable, and spaces in the rooms are too narrow to accommodate in comfort anyone with a walker or wheelchair. There's only one bed in that particular room, so not a good option if you're traveling with someone you don't want to sleep with. No desk, so not a great place to get work done during your stay, either. For a clean, safe place to stay briefly between long drives, it fit the bill nicely, and kind service is always a pleasure.Rooms: Basic, but quite adequate for my needs.Nearby activities: Essentially none, except the saloon itself.

I stopped by for the night and booked a room immediately at the bar because I was too tired to drive any longer safely. The room was quite nice and had a comfortable bed, the owner was friendly, room had a hot shower that was very welcome, microwave and fridge in the room, faster internet than I even have at home, and somewhere to charge an electric car in an otherwise difficult corridor. There are some interesting political flags and such in the bar, but given where this place is located it is not surprising that not everyone out here is ideologically aligned with a weird hippie from Minneapolis and the owner was very kind and welcoming. I would stay here again if I was passing through and needed a place to stay. I accidentally napped past kitchen close so I didn't get to try the food which was a bummer because it smelled great when I popped in to reserve the room. Maybe next time. The rooms are all decorated a little differently, themed Red, Green, and blue, and I stayed in the green room.Adding some pictures in case anyone wants to see more of what the place looks like. Very comfortable bed and better amenities than many Marriott properties I've stayed at for work.

Nice little room for a short stay. We stayed one night here on our way to Yellowstone. I could not find any motels I like in Billings, plus 40mins more drive. So I gave this place a try. It turned out to be a very nice experience. First, Danny was a nice guy, and the room was small but clean and cozy, everything works fine. Second,it is located in a small village. We took a walk around and checked out a nice little family farm. When we were leaving the second morning, Danny gave a little store souvenir to us, which is exactly the kind of thing I would like to collect when traveling. Thanks, Danny! The only thing bothered me was the chop-chop sound of the train in the middle of night, because I am a light sleeper. otherwise it is a good place for short stay.

Friendly locals, homey … the Cheers of Custer, Montana. Kitchen closed but he threw a frozen pizza (which was good) in the oven for us anyway. Regularly closed on Sunday but open for the 2 big football games.

While traveling in our RV we were hungry an decided to stop in custer, MT at Junction City restaurant and bar. When my husband misread our friends handsignals as a U turn rather than going around the block like he was telling him we ended up hitting wet grass an the mtr home slid off into the ditch. The only thing that kept it upright was our car in tow!!! This Bar owner was the most gracious, helpful person and a true humanitarian as well as a REAL PATRIOT!!! We called a tow service out of Billings,MT. so it took roughly 4+ hrs. for him to arrive, after this bar owner helped us send pictures an told him what was needed to get it out. THANK GOD AN THIS BAR OWNER these 3 younger men who are working in Custer an staying in their RV's came into the bar. The owner had them come help after the tow truck an several really nice guys got there. The tow driver made my husband get out of the RV saying he would not tow with him inside(he knew it was going to go over when he started the tow)! The guys from the bar sais, NO WAY, THIS UNIT IS WAY TO NICE TO ALLOW IT TO GO OVER!!! They quickly divised a plan using planks to put under tires an kept moving them slowly until they rolled the RV onto drier ground an saved our unit. No major damage if any kind thanks to these guys an this bar owner!!! We will always stop there to eat(by the way the food is EXCELLENT!!) The bar owner does the cooking an hes really good at it!!! He continually checked on us an made sure we were all ok. THE BEST PART IS INSIDE THE BAR HE HAS FLAGS FLYING OF OUR ONCE AN HOPEFULLY IN 2024 AGAIN GREAT COUNTRY AND FLAGS OF TRUMP 2024!!! MONTANA IS PRIMARILY RED STATE IT SEEMS AND IM RIGHT THERE WITH THEM!!!

Recently just stood here for one night, and I absolutely LOVED it! Coming from Chicago, at first we were a bit sketchy with the area but you can’t judge the book by its cover. The bartender was also very lovely. If you guys are passing through Montana, please stay here you won’t be disappointed! 💛

It was quite an experience. Sabrina was a great bartender and sitting at the bar were Ed and his wife of 60+ years Alice, who entertained us! The food was fresh, came out hot and was worth the money.

This is a laid back spot. They have 3 rooms for rent next to the bar: Blue, Red, and Green rooms. I stayed in the green room. Perfect for a stop over if you don't want to drive another 100 miles to get a chain hotel. Good folks.

Stopped here for the night and stayed in the green room. Very nice and cute room. The girl behind the counter was very friendly. I’m glad I stayed here in a more Montana feel than a ritzy hotel.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised. I work on the road and haven't stayed in non chain motel that was as clean and comfortable as Junction city. The Cougar burger was fantastic as well, thank you for hospitality.

Small, nothing fancy but clean & comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. Looked like there were only 4 rooms total, small town ambience. We stayed one night while traveling, did not visit the bar but it looked nice.

We stumbled on this place by accident, late on a Saturday night and THIS was THE place to be. The live entertainment (June 12, 21) was fantastic and packed in the people, we enjoyed the outdoor venue as well.

Reason for going was the Montana Veterans Meat Locker was donating meat to Veterans who served, and who are still serving this great country. Thank you, and to those that served thank you for your service to this country.

Middle of nowhere? Yes, yes it is! That is why this place is so important. After a long hard day of working, everyone needs a cold beer, a burger and a hot shower.
