The Alpine Motel of Cooke City was an affordable place to stay on our vacation trip to Yellowstone NP.The rooms are cozy and comfortable. While they are small (we chose the Queen room for 2) it brings a sense of peace nestled in the forest.We were very impressed with the nice touches of caring kindness that a put smile on our faces. Beautiful large hanging baskets of flowers were an incredible gestures of courtesy and kindness that brings an element of joy.We chose the Alpine Motel due to their proximity to Yellowstone National Park and their price as well as a relaxing and affordable place to stay. We were not disappointed. Rooms were clean. Bed was cozy. Rooms have a fridge (but it does need upgraded as ours was frosted over).Staff is very friendly and pleasantly welcoming. They also have an on-site laundry ($5 complete for washing / drying).We found this place ti be a great place to stay on a limited budget. 👍Rooms: Cozy & comfortableNearby activities: Yellowstone National ParkWildlifeNoteworthy details: Hanging baskets of flowers

This is our second time here, the first time was 18 years ago. Is the town a little old? Is the hotel old? Sure! But you walk out your door and a moose walks by, on your way to the coffee shop you pass a bison, and walk down the road a little bit and you'll see a grizzly bear.Our little hotel apartment was clean, well equipped, and provided the perfect spot for us to jump off into the Lamar valley and see the wonders of Yellowstone. The proprietor of the place was friendly and happy to share information about places to go and cool things about the town.I will be back and will be happy to stay here again.

Stayed here for a night on our way to Yellowstone. The room was perfectly adequate, no issues other than the slight annoyance that the price seemed a little high for this level of amenities. But I think that's just the market in this small town; their pricing was definitely competitive. The owner was friendly and they had laundry which came in handy for us. The town is beautiful so I'd definitely come back and stay here.

Nice big bedroom with 2 queen beds. A good TV with decent selection of channels. Bathroom was decent sized. Overall clean and comfy. I was pleasantly surprised that the gas powered heater worked, even in summer! The room was getting chilly in the evening for us who're more acclimatized to warmer weather.The only gripe I have is the wifi signals are extremely weak, and just barely work. They warn you of this at the reception, but I didn't expect it to be so bad, especially when it's fairly functional at the Cooke City Museum just down the street.

LOVED staying at the Alpine Motel! The owner is so fantastic and helpful! He gave us great advice for enjoying Yellowstone. You can tell he really cares about making sure it's a great trip for his guests; and he is very knowledgable about the wildlife, etc. The location is amazing! Just right outside of Yellowstone, a perfect place to stay while you enjoy the park! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. It was very spacious and clean. Each of the two bedrooms had queen beds and the mattresses were very comfortable. The linens were also very nice. They didn't feel like "standard hotel" grade, they were much more comfortable. The kitchenette was well stocked with all of the necessities (silverware, knives, cups, plates, bowls, coffee maker, etc.), there was a table for four, and a refrigerator and freezer. I would highly recommend staying at the Alpine Motel!

If your priority is getting a quiet night's sleep, don't stay here. The walls are very thin and tend to amplify noise rather than reduce it. The people in the next room were talking and banging around all through the night, making it almost impossible for me to sleep. The staff are nice and friendly, but everything else about the place is average. Frankly, it felt like being in a Motel 6. It wasn't worth the price.

We came in late, and our keys were waiting for us. Our room was very clean, cozy, and cute! I loved the furniture! The room was very spacious. The flowers outside were beautiful! In the morning, we enjoyed an open window with fresh air and views of the mountain side. The water was hot for all 4 showers. Cooke City was such a nice place. We loved the gift shops and restaurants! I wish i would have been able to meet the staff, but they were very busy ensuring the rooms were clean!

10/10 would recommend. Clean, comfortable rooms. The owners- staff(?) Were very friendly and welcoming. Huge hanging pansy pots all around and I love flowers. My husband enjoyed this room and its accommodations more than a hotel we recently stayed at in downtown Milwaukee.

We stayed here during our trip to Yellowstone in 2018. We loved how close it was to the park. The room was big and clean with comfortable beds. The small town there had everything you needed to keep stocked up while you were visiting the park.We would have rated it higher but we never seen the people running the place the entire time we were there. The keys were in a drop box the first night we arrived, and we dropped them off the morning we left into the drop box. It just seemed a bit off to us.But there was no other complaint to talk about. So all in all it was a good stay...

Absolutely the best stay I have ever experienced, EVER! We were fortunate enough to have a room with a balcony overlooking their perfect high mountain town. It was breathtaking! I suggest trying to book the room above the check in desk for a romantic night with your special someone. Guys, this is where you take your better half when you're in the doghouse. Trust me. I melted, and I am a finickie, picky lady with too many opinions.Skip the other lodging and book this place, and I suggest doing it in advance!

A great & convenient place to stay in proximity to the park. The owner was very helpful at check in with a recommendation for food at the restaurant across the street. An easily accessible and popular place!We specifically chose to stay here because of the entertaining review responses from the owner on Google maps. If you are looking for a place with wifi or cell signal, Cooke City is not for you. BUT it is a perfect option or those looking to enjoy a remote and lively city close to the largest national park in the country!

Nice room. Small showers. Very pretty town in an AMAZING location. The drive through Lamar valley was breathtaking. And you are almost sure to see Buffalo. On the drive to the hotel out the Northeast exit of Yellowstone we saw more buffalo than we could count.

The rooms are very basic but clean and cozy. Don't try to use the microwave and TV at the same though, it will trip the breaker. Only complaint, maid service is hit or miss. We had a lot of equipment in the room but first day beds were made but pretty sloppy. 2nd day no maid service at all. Day 3 repeat of day one. Over all, it's a not a bad little place to stay.

The stay was amazing, we had everything we needed. The room price is very reasonable and the receptionist was very kind and provided us with free water bottles. You will find multiple restaurants and gas stations closer to the Hotel. Also, the drive from Yellow Stone National park to this hotel is very scenic and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Small but cozy. Our toilet ran all night unfortunately. The inside was quaint and a bit dated but comfortable and clean. The shower had hot water and good pressure and the room stated warm all night despite the snow outside.

Stayed at Alpine twice, I enjoy Cooke City. Alpine has great access to everything, rooms are decent. Got there late one night and had keys in front, definitely small town vibe. Service desk is nice and simple. Don’t expect anything fancy but it is a good stay.

Cooke City was part of our 3,400 mile road trip. I had been here years ago and you need to keep in mind that this town is remote and partially off the grid. No major hotel chains here, but a personal pride in what they offer for the area.Our room was great and the service by Zachery was A+. I would stay here again without question on my next trip.PS - The price is commensurate with the supply and demand and the season.

September 23, 2018 called and reserved a suite, for 9/22/18: Their add says We believe in clean.... what a joke... two queen beds & fold out.... hair in both beds, tub looked like there was black mold , and faucet was about to come off wall. The shower curtain was stiff, it was and material, not plastic!!! The fold out bed appeared to have never been changed, all bedspreads were stiff, god only knows why.... the heaters reeked when turned on, we sepent most of the night awake and fearful the heaters would cause a fire. By the time we realized this, the office was closed & no cell service!!! Way overpriced & filthy... do not bother with this place. My youngest granddaughter, cried and almost threw up, when she realized we had no other choices at that time.... I still feel sick .... the state should do inspections ! The owner should be embarrassed & ashamed....

Old facility, but they are trying. Clean, large room with comfortable beds, microwave and mini fridge. Scratchy towels.Bubbles the Bison grazes in the parking lot everyday at sunset.Easy walk to food and side-by-side rental.Front desk provided rags so we could clean our gear.
