Date of visit: July 17, 2023Street parking. Easily visible. This is the perfect eclectic little book store, complete with cats!! Books are everywhere!!! It's a little chaotic, overwhelming, mostly due to the sheer volume of books everywhere. The shopkeeper was very pleasant to visit with. A definite stop if you are a book lover!

What an awesome bookstore! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time exploring their shelves and petting their very sweet cats. We will definitely be back!

Very nice owner, sweet and cute cats! The pricing seems rather random, some overpriced, some fair, some good deals. Maybe you'll get lucky when you go! :)It really does need organized in there, though.. It seems like the books are in sections, but no labeling for customers. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to just get some cardboard and markers and put up section signs. I wish I could help, I'd volunteer... I'm disabled but can still walk most of the time, thankfully. No wheelchair can get in there for sure, just an FYI for new visitors.Unfortunately, an unpleasant odor permeates the shop. It is not the cats... More like BO. I'm sure the owner is probably unaware of it, people become "noseblind". It needs to be aired out and hopefully it does get taken care of. I would like to keep buying books there but the smell puts me off, I'm sure others as well but they don't say anything and just never come back, instead. I'll adjust my review if it changes, would love to leave a 5 instead of 4.

A quintessential small-town bookstore, complete with the best bookstore cats I have ever had the honor of knowing. Cindy is so kind and helpful, too! I always go in without authors or titles in mind and end up leaving with the books I didn’t know I wanted. There’s also a great selection of local authors and guides, too!

We loved this store! They have an excellent selection, very friendly staff and cute cats. I'm always on the hunt for old school sci-fi and they had a lot to choose from. Definitely check out Bad Rock Books when you're in NW Montana!

How can you go wrong when you are greeted by 2 friendly cats? On top of that the woman who additionally greeted me introduced me to the 2 cats and was very friendly. Such a cute store! The atmosphere is lively and super friendly. They have multiple cats that are lovable and kid friendly, the place also smells super good ( it does not smell like cats). So many books to choose from and the owner has read all of them!

Bad Rock Books is amazing! The prices are great and everyone is always friendly and helpful. The cats are sweet, and I always leave with something new to read. By far the best book store I have ever been to. I highly recommend Bad Rock Books to anyone looking for a good book or just a place to browse. I will definitely continue to shop here in the future.

This is the best bookstore I have been to in a long time. Huge variety, clean, bright, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair pricing.Remember that this store is CASH only.This bookstore is very well organized and has a great selection of old and new finds.One of the best parts of this store are the cats! The three cats are all friendly and want pets.You will not be disappointed.

I love a good used book store. This one is really nice. The lady who owns it is helpful and laid back. They only take cash payments, as I found out when I came in for a few metaphysical books this summer. She actually let me just take the books and promise to come back with cash later, which was a sweet thing to do. You can trade in books here for credit if you want to switch up your collection but I haven't tried it yet. There are also some adorable bookstore cats residing here, which makes the browsing more peaceful (unless you're allergic I guess).

This is the best little used book store any bibliophile could find! They have a really good selection of all genres of books, a wide variety of print dates, and a fantastic atmosphere. If you love that "old-book" smell, you'll be right at home. Watch where you step, though; there are also three kitties who get very curious and like to say hi while you look over the selections. They are very quiet and very adorable!

Great used book store. The owner is very knowledgeable of what they have and if you don't want to browse around she will direct you right where you need to go. You can also special order books in that they don't have on site and bring in your own books in exchange for store credit. They also have a couple bookstore cats roaming around which makes the store feel very cozy :)

I stopped in this afternoon and it was a lovely bookstore! When I first walked in, I was greeted by the most adorable gray cat and it followed me throughout the shop. The owner is a most delightful gal and her love for books is contagious! The shop has many rooms that are filled wall-to-wall with books, that range in all genre. She doesn't take debit, but there are plenty of local banks to grab some cash. It's a very old-school feel and eclectic. The stray cobwebs, (without spiders, of course), on the top shelves gave off an air of antiquity. She was very helpful! I would recommend anybody passing through Columbia Falls, as I was, to drop on in and take a gander.

The owner is fantastic. So helpful and inviting. The book store is a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a great book. The store cats are sweet and cuddly. And if you can't find what you want there, the owner is also a great help in finding or ordering for you.

As a cat mother of three and book enthusiast, I loved the concept of putting these two great things together in Bad Rock Books. The three cats, Pete (cream); Poe (tuxedo); and Bailey (grey and white), are all friendly. The decor is very fitting for a quirky and vintage feel and the selection is large enough to ensure that you will certainly find what you are looking for. There are reading chairs throughout the store and Karol's Kitchen provides a variety of beverages cold and hot. I highly recommend a visit also to the yarn store next door if you are in the mood.

This place has every book you can think of. The best part? Every book has already been loved by someone else, so instead of paying full price you pay a fraction. Then, after you have read it You can take it back for store credit and get something new for a bit less. Owner is insanely helpful and kind. If you want it and she doesnt have it, she will keep an eye out for it and let you know when she gets a copy...love this place💗

Too bad I cannot give negative stars. The woman who “greeted” us was rude. We called asked specific questions and were told to come into the store. Once we got there her story changed. She didn’t bother to look at what we brought in and told us to call on Friday. Why didn’t she say she didn’t have the authority to review and take the books in when we called. What a waste of time. If I had known the bookstore smelled like a cat box I wouldn’t have gone to begin with. Smelly store, rude service.

SUMMARY:Awful customer service,dirty environment and dissatisfied takeaway.I had a extremely awful expereince with this business. I called in prior to coming into the store to see if they accepted books for credit. This is where the displeasure of dealing with this place started. The lady I spoke with was very rude. She said we would have to look at them but we also do not accept hardback. So I said okay and gathered up all the books I have read or did not get into and went down to to the place of business. I walk in with my books and I encountered a older woman (the same one I spoke over the phone with.) She saw my box of books said in extremely annoyed tone to put them down so she can look at them. I made the mistake of bringing ONE hardcover book. She sneered at it and did not even look at the other books whichw here softcover like she said they would take. Then she goes and tells me that I would have to come back on Friday and speak to some other person over the one handbook not mentioning looking at the paperbacks.I have worked in customer service for a long time and I can tell you that was by far the worst service I have ever received from any establishment. Also you know how when you go Into a old bookstore and you get that old book smell? Well guess what the cherry ontop was. The CAT smell was so disgusting I don't want books smelling like cats anyway.
