We spontaneously chose to try dinner here on our way back to Helenabon Sunday evening. WHAT A GREAT MENU!! And the quality was exceptional considering the affordable prices. Unique item menus and friendly service. The history behind the establishment is also quite interesting. We highly recommend it! Hubby had the huckleberry brisket with some amazing toppings and I got the goat cheese burger, also with amazing toppings.

My first review was 6 years ago! So this is updated since Phil bought the place, it burnt down and he rebuilt it! It's phenomenal! Beautiful, the food was outstanding. My husband was blown away with the quality and size of the crab! The tenderloin melted in your mouth! Our server, Pauly, suggested the Chipotle Butter... OMG! Great suggestion!The view, the atmosphere, the quality...all incredible! It was pricey, but a great date night! 👏💕Awesome quaint little Montana restaurant! Great food and friendly service. Awesome full bar as well!

Hands down- hidden Montana gem. We have yet to have a bad experience here. If you're lucky enough to be there on the nights they have the corn chowder- be sure to not miss out. From the appetizers, to the entrees, to the amazing desserts- guarantee you will need someone to roll you out to your car because you can't stop until you have eaten every bite.

This was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning. The food was amazing. My husband and I both had the special which was a 16oz ribeye with a mushroom butter and pork belly. We chose wildrice as a side. The bread was delicious. I brought leftovers home so I could have tiramisu for dessert. Our hostess/server Martina was top notch. Pleasant, attentive and handling everything with ease and obvious contentment. The river views are great but the restaurant does lack ambiance. Fantastic!

I knew going in I wasn't going to finish this bad boy but it was my birthday and this is what I wanted! Food was amazing! Small town atmosphere! Friendly staff! Will definitely be back!

Reservations suggested. Very friendly staff. We ate in the bar which was just fine. The coho salmon with pollenta was 5***** The Fettuccine Alfredo was very tasty & the burger was perfect. The Walleye Fish & Chips were only so so. Service was attentive & friendly. Atmosphere is sterile but the river views are nice. Would definitely go back.Kid-friendliness: Kids are wellcome but I say ldave them at home. Kids won't appreciate the food and it's expensive.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for the handicapped.

Overall an excellent experience with great food. One of the best , if not the best, New York strip I've had. However, they had a server call out and instead of someone else helping or pushing reservations back a few minutes to accommodate the rush, they had ONE server take the whole dining room, I believe I counted 14 tables and one larger (10+) table. It was an impossible challenge for the server and she did okay but items were forgotten and they took a very long time to come out. 15 minutes for drinks. 30 minutes for soup. Coming from a server myself, she never should have been put in that position but again not her fault. I'd come back without a doubt.

Definitely a great place to eat. The food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced (that's to be expected, due to location - being just a couple miles away from the caverns, which is a huge tourist attraction). Staff was friendly and our server was quite charming. We had a large party and she was on top of things, making sure everybody was taken care of; nobody had to flag her down. We made sure to tip her well because she deserved every penny.

Absolutely adorable little restaurant on the side of mountain, gorgeous views all around!!!! Super close to lewis and clark caverns camp grounds. The lady that served us was incredibly attentive, kind and hospitable despite her being the only server on the floor with nearly a room full of customers. She warned us even that she make take a bit longer then normal due to that fact but we never really noticed her absence or felt a lack of service. Food also tasted great, fresh and flavorful.

First time back since the fire.The restaurant is gorgeous, with a stunning view from every table. The staff was attentive. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, and cleaned the plate! Amazing! The prime rib was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the asparagus was cooked perfectly al dented. The breaded shrimp was fantastic and the sauce was stupid good. We had the cream and berries desert, which was linked clean and the peach creme Brule which was also scraped clean. Good wine selection too. If you're a local or visitor and you don't have La Hood on your preferred dining list, you are missing out!

Could not have been better. Adorable little restaurant/bar in the side of the mountain. Bartender/owner makes a mean old fashion. Steak was outstanding (ordered mine medium rare came out perfect). I would go out of my way to go there again.

After viewing the menu online we knew we would we'd at a 'high end' restaurant. We were disappointed to enter a what looked like a regular Cafe. No ambience, what so ever. No table cover/cloth. Too bad because the scenery is superb. We took the time to clean up, dress nice only to see a majority of the patrons in ball caps and hoodies....something we'd expect at a sports bar. Apparently they earn more money than we do to dress like this and pay the dining bill. (Sorry, I'm a tad judgemental, but coming from Texas, I'm used seeing high dollar cattlemen coming in with jeans and spurs, which is different. A person knows the difference between a working man, and someone who just doesnt take pride in their dress). This place could be soooo much more.The food is good. We ordered the prime , and it was cooked to order. Very tender, but so little seasoning was a bit disappointing. We has the baked potato as a side. It wasn't a true baked potato. Microwaved or air fried then wrapped in foil. We shared a dessert and yeah it was good, it wasn't fresh, though.Will we go back? Not likely. We are locals.
