Very clean and tidy place -owner has a serious anger issue. We arrived late and were going to park on the grass by our site but it was so nice and well maintained that we were scared it was not aloud. We moved our car to the gravel and soon after the owner came over and said to shut the F up, turn the car off or get the F of his property. This was at 10PM. (Before most campgrounds quite time) this was our first snd only interaction with him and his level of anger over such a small incident was alarming.-after reading other reviews it is likely he will reply to this denying that we ever stayed there.

Hands down the best campground we have ever stayed at. We stayed in tent spot #2 and its real close to the freeway so bring earplugs and you will be good. The owners are hands down some of the most personable people ever. So so nice!!!! The coffee bar is amazing and great coffee. The showers and bathrooms were so clean!! We will be back any chance we get.

We were coming from glacier national park to yellowstone and this was a good midway point. The man who owns it was super super sweet and kind to my kiddos. The bathrooms were clean and had huge warm showers. Free laundry is what won me over though. After a week on the road with kids it was nice to be able to get some done. A little noisy from the highway but we had a fan going and didn't even notice it

We finally had the opportunity to stay at this lovely campground!! It’s clean, has plenty of walking areas for the dogs, a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills and very easy access off of highway I-90. The owner greeted as and took us to our campground and even helped us with a trailer hitch issue!! The campground sites are some of the cleanest we have seen - and we’ve stayed at several over 4 years of driving across the US every spring. And laundry too!! The store and gas station has so much to offer. The ice cream/coffee/breakfast shop in the store is so quaint and has so many tasty items as well as great customer service. The owners are dog friendly and our dogs even got treats 😉🐾🐾 We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in an RV space July 21-23, 2023. Cardwell was one of the nicest RV parks that we’ve visited. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. The grounds & surrounding scenery are beautiful. The restrooms & showers are clean. They have a free laundry room, awesome general store, great RV sites, & even had live music!Nearby activities: We visited the nearby Lewis & Clark Caverns & walking trails to the beautiful river, from the park. Our granddaughter enjoyed the playgrounds.Food & drinks: We enjoyed awesome milkshakes, from the general store.

Great hosts. Very clean in all areas. Well designed and executed business in all aspects of a one stop total solution for the traveler.I rode in on my adventure bike and was treated like a king. After more than a month on the road this is the nicest place I have stayed, and at the lower end of cost. Highly recommend!Nearby activities: Lewis & Clark CavernsFood & drinks: Icecream. A very well stocked grocery store with many camping sized choices and more than one brand choice.Noteworthy details: Amazing great bathroom and showers. Plus laundry. All not metered!

This campground is 100% a full package. Great value for money, amazing modern, spacious and free shower facilities (better than some hotels) free laundry and a store on site! Conviently situated off the highway, after a 7 hour drive, it was a real treat to come across this place! The owners are really friendly and helpful. There was a lot of small touches that most places don't think of that really stood out for me! Would stay here again

The pride the owners have in this campground shows everywhere; from the meticulously maintained grounds to spotlessly clean & spacious bathrooms and showers. The store has a thoughtfully curated gift area, and the ice cream and coffee bar always had friendly staff. The campground was well laid out; we had no issues maneuvering our longer 5th wheel in and out. A convenient location with views of the mountains, we can't wait to find a reason to stay here again.

I can’t imagine how anyone would give this campground a less than 5 star rating. The owner (I’ve only met the husband) is friendly and helpful. The facilities are spotless and in perfect working order. If you need to do laundry, it’s free. There’s a store on site for your needs. And the grounds are well groomed and maintained. If I make my way back up here, I will camp here again.

We got in late but had called ahead and let Kurt know. He was a great host, greeting us upon arrival and took us right over to our reserved spot. This was our first stop on an 11 day trip and we didn't know much about the RV we had rented. Kurt helped explain our generator, answered other questions I had and made sure we got set up.They had live music playing that night, there were swings for the kids. Overall a great introduction to RV Parks for us beginners. They have a general store that has most things that you'd need in a pinch and other cool homemade things. We made sure to get our Montana ornament there. They also have a coffee shop and breakfast sandwiches to order, we didn't try any but they smelled and looked good. 10/10 recommend.

We were on our way to Yellowstone National Park, and we needed a place to stay for the night. Called the phone number on the sign, and they had one site left for the night. Very nice and friendly staff, Bathrooms and Showers were very nice clean.Would stay here again .Thank you for your wonderful hospitality

My wife and I are full time RVers and have stayed in over 100 campgrounds in 36 different states. Cardwell General Store and Campground is one of the best we have had the opportunity to stay in. The General Store has a great variety of products. If we are ever through this way again we will be sure to stay. Owners and staff were top notch.

This place used to be great. Let’s be clear. I’m not complaining about the store or the campground. However, the prices for their ice cream are simply out of control. Two single scoop ice creams and a kid cone should never cost $23.50. That is an outrageous amount of money for such a small amount of product. I assume this is an issue with the new owners as not very long ago their prices were much more reasonable. I guess they don’t want to serve smiling customers yummy ice cream anymore. Too bad for them.

Had a great time tent camping here the other night! Great views, clean bathrooms and free laundry. The owner was very helpful bringing us to our spot and answering any questions we had.Only "con" is that the campground is a little noisy at night with the RVs and their bug zappers. Something to be aware of depending on what you're looking for.

These people are the rudest hosts we have encountered. We have traveled to almost all 50 states this summer and have never been treated so rude by the campsite host/owner. No wonder it was empty. MUCH NICER AND FRIENDLIER campsites closer to the state parks with better grounds and trees for shade. we have gotten along well and made friends with every host we’ve encountered so far up until we came here. We left. Be sure if you stay you don’t walk on the wrong part of the grass or break anything that may be considered a rule !!! And don’t drive more than 3 miles per hour or they will cancel you and kicked you out. Good luck if you stay here!

We stayed one night in the cabin on our way back home and wanted to go to the lewis and clark caverns. The cabin was adorable and the bed and pillows were so comfy! The owners were fabulous we sat at the counter and ate ice cream and visited with them. They were so welcoming and funny. The bathrooms were super clean and the showers were big. We had such a great experience it was a fabulous end to a great trip.

Cardwells campground is wonderful! We were there for a little over 2 weeks and had planned to be there for 3 months but had to leave due to a new job location. The campground is beautiful and well maintained, kid friendly, and peaceful. Very nice showers/bathroom and free laundry! My parents stayed in the cabin briefly and it was adorable. The store has all the necessities, local/Montana goodies, gift shop items, unique candies, and very good ice cream! But most of all the owners, Curt and Laurie are truly amazing. Their hospitality was above and beyond and we saw daily how hard they work to keep everything so nice and take care of their customers. They treated us like family and took our boys in as of they were their own and did the same for the other guests as well. Cannot recommend this place enough, whether it be for a quick one night stay or a longer one!

Our vacation plans changed due to medical issues! Homeward bound gas peddle down from Minnesota to Washington with No reservations googling Rv campgrounds towards night time, hooped of interstate at Manhattan extremely seedy looking back on interstate, tried again at Three forks road turned gravel we turned around! And then we found Cardwell General Store and Campground what a Gem! This place is extremely well kept play ground for kids creek out back, the people are extremely friendly! I’d give this place ten stars if I could. I wish I could stay and play!

The store looked great! Could not believe the laundry was included in the price, this is a first. Bathrooms were super clean.Only downside is no TV reception, no cable TV. Stopped in January and it was icy due to recent weather, and the path to the super clean restrooms was slippery.All said, they really cared and we would stop again.
