I was recently driving through Butte (I missed the elephant, unfortunately) and I had a fierce craving for a cake to eat in my hotel room. I stopped at the Front Street Safeway and went straight to the bakery. The cakes were beautifully decorated, well above the level I usually see at a grocery store. The attention to detail was incredible!I asked the bakery person (baker? cake artist?) who did the decorating. Dani told me that she did them herself that morning. I just ended up getting a small cake and a bottle of chardonnay (hotel life, am I right?) and it tasted as good as it looked.Dani said she usually does the birthday cakes, but she clearly has the talent to do wedding cakes. If you need a cake for a party, Front Street Safeway in Butte has got you!

SAFEWAY CORPORATION IS SHAMEFUL. I make it a point to shop Safeway here in Butte, Montana rather than Walmart. I used to believe the corporation to treat their employees better. However in the last couple years I have been proven wrong. I shop the Safeway on Front Street in our town because the employees there are always courteous and provide the best customer service in town. But the last couple years the Corporate or Management find it unnecessary to even provide heat in their building for the employees, therefore the employees walk around the store working with their coats on all winter. How disgraceful to treat such great employees without any gratitude, especially now when you can't find good employees. It has been in the lower 50's here in Butte for the last two weeks and it is quite uncomfortable to even go into the store and shop, let alone work there for eight hours. Safeway makes enough money off of its two stores in our town to well afford the heat bill. Why don't you learn some gratitude for the great team of employees you have.

Wish that I could leave 0 stars the woman that's working the cash register tonight literally jumped in front of the way of the door for my friend when trying to go get baby formula cause we got there at 10:52 and they closed at 11 and she insisted that the store was closed and literally physically barred the way for him forcing him to not be able to get baby food tonight for for my nephew Is terrible customer service 😒 I guess valued customers don't have value anymore Even if you go under the store for 20 plus years unbelievable

Worst grocery store in the state. They are constantly stocking the shelves during busy hours, blocking the already tight aisles. Produce is abysmal. Nearly every time I go, I have a simple list of ingredients for a meal, but when I get to the store I have to improvise everything, because they don't have what I'm looking for. No 8" corn tortillas this week. No fuji apples. Oops, can't get chard. It's all wilted and costs $5. Yukon gold potatoes? Not this week, they're all green and soft. On top of this, besides beer, there are no products from Montana for sale. Where's the pride in our state?The only other option in Butte is to go to Walmart which is even worse. You are better off saving up for a weekly trip to Helena or Dillon. I hate Safeway.P.S. This is in no way directed to the employees who are doing everything they can to make the shopping experience tolerable.

In an emergency I will shop here as prices are just to high.Being less than a mile from my home, I drive 4 miles past Safeway to shop elsewhere with better prices.Items here are 2 and 3 times more expensive than elsewhere.The days of coupons, bonus points and online digital coupons are gone and are just a gimmick as far as I am concerned.

They're trying their hardest to keep the shelves stocked. The people who work here are all wonderful. Nice, clean, comfortable store to shop. Update: still wonderful staff and the shelves are stocked. I really like the people who work here.

Why is it that every time I try to buy fresh meat or lunch meat, it's bad? I've wasted hundreds of dollars on food that I open the package and it's rotten same day. Do we not know what handling times and Temps are? Food isn't cheap and this store is doing a poor job of handling their stock.

I was in there last night about 10:30pm after work and the kid doing the floors was drunk. Very ,very obvious this kid was intoxicated. So the stores ,inflation prices are covering expenses for a drunk employe?

What can you say it's Safeway. The Safeways in Butte are well maintained I haven't had any issues with them they are clean when I go in. Bathrooms could be cleaner but that's with any public bathroom.

I will only shop here if I need <5 items. The prices are too high, and the employees too rude. Might as well go to Walmart. (Edit) they responded to this review with a generic copy and paste “we want you back”. This is proof of their poor customer care.

We don't go to Safeway everyday, but when we want fruits or vegetables we come here first. We're generally confident it's not going to rot or be bad the next day. Workers often seem tired when we're there, but they're diligent and the store is organized.

I always shop for groceries at the little Safeway. It's on my street, the staff is extra friendly and helpful and if you use your coupons and online deals its way less expensive than even Walmart. This is my go to grocery store!

I was planning to buy a few groceries today as we were traveling through. We first used the restroom before we shopped. A female employee was using the restroom as I waited. She flushed the toilet and came out of the stall with blue gloves on. Then she proceeded to go out and stock fruit and vegetables with the same gloves on. Needless to say we promptly left. I work in food safety and she could make a lot of people sick. I was extremely grossed out and upset. Food safety should be priority! We are very disappointed.

I like shopping there, the deli leaves alot to be desired tho. They rarely have fresh chicken at dinner time without waiting 10 to 20 minutes. Or anything fresh in the deli case at dinner time 5pm. The meat counter has been closed at 5pm at times as well. I find it odd considering that's usually a busy time for a grocery store?

Purchased from Deli and the customer service was excellent. We ordered from a family dinner combination on items I. High demand and the employee offer alternatives that worked well with our needs. I always love it when the employees engage customer in a friendly and helpful fashion. I am from another state and my safeway card still worked here in Montana. Try them out they have a fairly good selection.

The front street store always has what I need l. The checkers are friendly and polite. The only things is when checking out the sun comes in the big Windows and is blinding, this store could use some blinds as I left this store with a terrible headache

Ive always had great customer service there. Even when it is outrageously busy they seem to have a smile. They have recently been emphasizing opening more registers when more than three customers are waiting to check out in any line which makes a huge difference in my shopping experience. It makes you feel less like cattle and more like a priority. They are clean and their new store front is beautiful. Its great they've added an entry way which makes the inside much warmer than it used to be in the winter. I'm also addicted to their chocolate muffins in the bakery section.

Best Safeway we've been to...and we've been to a bunch of them from Alaska to Montana! Excellent organic produce section and quite a few choices for nearly every product they carry. We haven't had any issues with finding what we need (or want) at the Safeway in Dillon, MT. We even make special trips an hour out of our way just so we can go to this one instead of the smaller one nearer to us.

It's a nice Safeway. It's an old 1960's style building, but it has been modernized. They have good one way signage for the isles. The staff was mostly masked up. The bathroom is in the far right corner and you don't have to go into the stockroom like the olden days. The food selection it's good. I got all the snacks I wanted to watch the fireworks from the parking lot.
