Was making my way to South Dakota and happened to come upon the town of Broadus. After deliberating whether to press on and try find somewhere in another town or not, I noticed there were vacancies at Broadus Motels. The gentleman at the check-in desk (I believe his name was Steve) was very friendly and welcoming. Let me know what the WiFi password was and even told me about a good place to get breakfast the next day (was amazing, so thank you for that!) The room I was given was on the ground floor, just across from reception. It was clean and tidy, with a big and comfortable bed. The shower worked great and although there was a bit of noise from the road (understandable with it being by the road), I was able to get a good night's sleep. The price was a bit more than what I had paid for previous hotels on the trip, but I was just grateful of a place to rest for the night, before going onto South Dakota. Many thanks again to you Steve, for being friendly and welcoming.

Steven (owner) was such a sweetheart! We were having trouble with our vehicle traveling/moving across country from Louisiana to Montana and happened upon this sweet little Motel. Steven was very kind and helpful. We did not have a chance to stay in the Motel due to our vehicle being repaired but I cannot recommend this place enough based on the owner alone. The front office where you check in is absolutely adorable and had several amenities that i noticed while being in there. Thank you again Steven, it was a pleasure meeting you!

The staff was friendly. The room was disgusting!I wish I had the option to share pictures. If you are exhausted I guess it's a place to rest.I recommend to push on if you can. They charge $120.00 🇺🇸 that is $180.00 🇨🇦Rooms: The room was extremely dirty, not worth the money

Hmm, motel hell might better describe this place. We paid $133 for the night and were given the key to the room. The room wasn't at this motel though. We had to drive a mile or so to the other motel hell. The first red flag was people blaring music loud enough to wake the dead. This continued until the morning hours. The room was hardly bigger than a closet. Carpet was stained and nasty. We were given the wrong key and had to go back to the original motel hell for the right one. There was no toilet paper or soap, and the floor kept giving way as if we might fall through any second. They also hang onto your credit card information to make sure their nasty room was left clean as if it could possibly be any nastier. Avoid this place at all costs. Sleeping in your car would be preferable. This guy is obviously writing his own good reviews. The writing is so similar, and only Satan would give this place a thumbs up.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Motel in the middle of nowhere and they use this to their advantage. Nasty room, and I'm talking really nasty. You pay through the nose for this nasty room and they write your credit card information on a slip of paper before they run it through the next morning to ensure their nasty room wasn't left nastier than it was, as if this was even possible. I'm not sure this is even legal but I intend to find out. Heck, that slip of paper could be blowing in the breeze at the county land fill. There was something that looked like rice or dead larvae in the corners around the bed. Sticky floors, so keep your shoes on. TV won't work in the morning so don't even think about checking the weather station before you leave. Oh yeah, bring your own toilet paper, shampoo and soap. There isn't any.

The rooms were very run down. Hard to tell if they were dirty or just old and outdated. The staff was the only reason I’m giving it a 2/5 stars both the night clerk and the morning check out staff were super friendly. So friendly I felt bad complaining about the state of the room we got.We got into our room at 1AM (which the amazing staff kept open just for us) but the room was full of moths, the paint on the walls was badly damaged. The motel felt super sketchy. The beds were okay, but had hairs inside the sheets no bugs, but linens clearly not cleaned super well. Other rooms were left open and the smoke detectors were damaged, removed or ,covered by plastic bags as seen in the picture.I’d love to say this was just a one off and hope that the rest of these reviews got the real deal and we just had one bad experience.

I’m a trucker and I ran out of hours. I stumbled upon this motel and I was pretty skeptical. A general rule of mine is to only stay in name brand hotels, for safety reasons. It was 2am and the owner (I’m assuming he is) woke up out of his sleep and got me booked in a room in less than 5 minutes. He was so kind and such a beautiful soul, I immediately felt at ease about staying there. The room was basic in appliances, but it was extremely clean. The long pillows were my absolute favorite because they’re perfect for wrapping yourself around them. The bed was soft and the shower head sprayed hot, soft water that left my skin hydrated instead of ashy and dry. The water pressure was also really strong and felt great on my tired muscles. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming and I highly recommend staying there. You almost feel like part of the family :)

Worked with Steve to help him get his ERTC and it was an absolute pleasure. Stand up guy that I’d be happy to work with, buy from or stay with. If my family is ever in the area we will absolutely stay with him.

If you're traveling on interstate 212 or interstate 59. Broadus Motels is the best place to stop and rest, because there is nothing for many miles in all 4 directions. We were traveling from Sturgis and heading to Yellowstone on 212, which is the shortest route to Yellowstone but mostly barren.. It was getting dark and we were running low on fuel, so I called Broadus Motels to stay the night and was able to book a room easily. In Broadus, we were also able to reload on fuel and food the next morning and hit the road refreshed. If you don’t stop in Broadus, then there is nothing for many miles, so be sure to not drive on through, otherwise it’s going to be a long drive. Broadus Motels is not the Marriott, but if you like the old west, then Broadus has that peaceful old town vibe. The price is fair, and we had no issues with our stay. The customer service is very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean. They do have a new ice machine so that is a relief. There is also a nice convenient store across the street, a gas station, and few places to eat or drink down the road.If I were to come though here again, I would not hesitate to stay again. Definetely a good stopping point and pretty much the only stopping point for miles.

Here comes the judge! We stayed for 7 nights in the "judges chamber" which is a house the Broadus Hotel rents out nearby. We rented it to meet up with family for Thanksgiving week.I must say, the place blew our minds. How many rentals feature a torture chamber in the basement? You just can't find that everywhere.Even though the lights inside don't really work (lamps work, some ceiling lights don't) you get the spotlight shining in from outside as a night light. All night long baby! All night! You might think you'll close the blinds but you can't. Haha. Changing is always a voyeuristic experience. Drivers by see you from outside. Guests and family see you from dining room. Bet you didn't expect that? The kitchen is one of the strangest rooms. You can stick a knife on the electrical pretty easily so there's that. You have a prep sink but really nowhere to wash a restaurants worth of dishes. The sinks were taken off of the plumbing for a gross jetted tub with homemade plumbing. No door on the shower room since you can watch your commercial Wolfe cooktop while you're taking a shower this way.One of the best touches is the lack of a television. You can't even watch rerun movies after it gets dark at 5:30 during hunting season. You can sit on your two plus chairs or sit at the dining table while you read about Amelia growing sweet peas.If you're looking for a once in a lifetime stay with no basic safety features (electrical up to code, working fire extinguishers, legal front steps, fire alarms, etc.) this place is for you.

Staying at a small town takes me back to when I was a kid. Just a little tired old place that is friendly and laid back. Working with the owner on correcting the time we stayed there, was very easy to correct and come to an agreement. The owner saved me $$$ and was more than nice about it! If we weren’t on a time line on this trip we would have found it fun to stay in the area and have fun finding things to do.

No Ice maker. Room hot and AC not working properly. Owner said it was because it is hard to find help. As well as the AC was not made for 100 degree heat. It was 93 when I checked in. Looks like a cheap setup. When asked for ice I was pointed to the convenience store across the street. The clerk there said they do not have a business relationship with the motel owner. I paid for my ice. She went on to say "You're not staying there are you? I told her that the baby has already been born. She said to check my receipt since it is well known that they sometimes add a service tip to the total. There also was a pretty good housefly hatch going on in my room. I did not complain of this since I have not been satisfied yet, so what is the point. The initial desk clerk was nice. Room not clean and no bedspread. But not to worry, one less cover to shed cuz of little AC.

Had a fantastic experience this past June while on a cross-country motorcycle trip. It's a small motel nestled at the crossroads of two major roads in MT. The rooms are older, but just right for spending the night in comfort. The bed was probably the best I slept on during the entire trip. The room was very clean and the staff very friendly and responsive to any issues I encountered.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!! Bed bugs the owner Steve Held is a liar, thief, and is rude!!! The people leaving a review about great breakfast. He doesn’t have breakfast. After the review was left he went and bought frozen muffins to justify his “breakfast”. The people leaving comments that aren’t from the good old USA have not stayed in this motel. He’s having people leave good comments to give him a good rating. KEEP ON GOING. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. HE IS ONE CROOKED SOB!!!

Staff was friendly. The 4 star overall rating is deceiving. It was a place to sleep and shower. Very dated, not very clean (no bugs though), AC did not work so it was pretty hot. Staff offered a fan or another room but kids were in another room next door so we needed to in the room we were offered. Should really be a $35 per night room. $85 is too much for quality.

Good stopping off point for a road trip! The town was quiet and friendly, and the restraunts were good. The room was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. There was a lot of light and a fair amount of noise in the room at night, which made it a little hard to sleep. But otherwise, I'd definitely recommend making a road trip stop here if you're in the area. It's a good stopping point between Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore

I spend the majority of my working life on the road staying in one hotel or another and don’t post many reviews because the experiences are usually quite similar (and usually quite bland). I open an app, select a familiar franchise, collect my points and move along but this night I found my choices somewhat limited and my time, thanks to the DOT, running short.I knew when I pulled into the parking lot this night was going to be unique and was not disappointed. The friendly young man behind the desk showed me where to park and suggested the small tavern around the corner for a late night bite and a cold drink. Room 214 was a little small but not uncomfortable and while a little dated, was clean and well appointed. The shower was AMAZING and the king bed was the stuff dreams are made of. Such a perfect end to a loooong day.If you’re coming or going I can’t recommend this place more highly and if you stay be sure and take the time to meet Steve, far and away one of the nicest people with some great stories. I don’t get to spend enough time in this part of the nation but if I have the opportunity I will stop again.

Gets 2 stars for the room appearing to be clean. Won't stay there again. They have 2 different buildings and don't bother to disclose that. We had to walk to a quarter mile from the building we thought we were staying in to get to our room (we were driving a semi, there was no possibility of parking closer, they knew this at the time of making the reservation as I asked about semi parking. Less then thrilled to have to walk back down the street to check on the truck in the middle of the night.). The second building looked questionable at best. Charged $85 +tax for a room that doesn't look like it has been updated since the 60s. See attached pictures. Guy on the phone was friendly. Guy who checked us in, not so much.

We stayed here on one of our adventurous road trips and it was an unexpected delight. The room was super clean and comfy. It was quiet and relaxing which was great after a day and night on the road. The owner was very nice and helpful. And there was plenty of towels and got water. Will for sure be staying again!

This place saved me and my family yesterday. A storm was picking up, we had been traveling for a long time in the complete wilderness (we're city folks) and the other inn in town that had a better review was a complete ghost town at 8pm!! Thankfully the motel was around the corner and Steve (the owner I assume) was so so so sweet!!!! He made us all feel safe again and gave us a room to stay in. The rooms were clean, comfy, spacious and the tv had tons of channels. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you again Steve!!!

I was on a hunting trip and broke down outside of Broadus. The people at the Broadus motel went out of their way to make sure I had a place to stay during their busiest time of the year. The owner himself went above and beyond to help a stranded hunter and his son. The rooms were warm and clean and were a great relief considering we had zero cell service at our camp ground. Thanks alot to the owner and staff for all your help
