My niece photographed a wedding here and I tagged along. It was beautiful! The staff was great to work with and very friendly. It's such a romantic place! The restaurant, Horn and Cantle, on the grounds was beyond delicious! You normally need a reservation but we somehow were able to beat the crowd around 4:00 and got a seat. I definitely recommend!

My partner surprised me with a birthday dinner at Lone Mountain. I could not have been more pleased! Nick, our server, greeted us as we entered the restaurant and the welcoming, attentive atmosphere lasted the whole evening. Everything we were served was delicious and the steak was done perfectly. As we were enjoying dinner it began to snow and was just magical. It was a wonderful birthday and thank you to Nick and the rest of the staff for making it a special evening!

Great 4 night trip to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. We did the Winter Escape package which was effectively an all inclusive package. This package delivered great value as opposed to doing just breakfast as the lunch, dinner, and activities would add up quickly. All 3 being extremely pricey. The strength of this property is their people. Shoutouts to Randy (naturalist), Kaeden (our driver), Shannon (our waitress), and Myles (Sleigh Ride driver) among others who were so sweet. We didn’t get out of the property, so we spent all 4 days on property doing snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, etc.The main reason why I rated this is a 4 instead of a 5 is largely for the details. This details would normally be looked over at a $300-400 per night spot, but I feel it’s appropriate to address it a $1k+ price tag per night property. We stay at incredible properties such as Aman, O&O, Montage, FS, so maybe the following is a bit harsh for a more boutique property. On several occasions, the communication from concierge wasn’t clear. We communicated one thing fairly clearly and there was a hiccup. Housekeeping was sloppy, but corrected after we gave feedback. F&B options can be vastly improved - especially if you’re at this property for the 3+ nights. Food gets very heavy and boring. Fixtures and finishes in the room weren’t done at a $1k per night standard — picture frames and mirrors completely bent. 3-4 hooks completely loose. All in all, great property with a lot of soul - because of the people they have. Will be back with friends at some point. Hope they are able to refine their service and details next time.

I can't say enough great things about Lone Mountain Ranch! It is now a family favorite and we can't wait to get back there! My wife, two kids and I stayed at Lone Mountain Ranch at the end of August for four nights and had an amazing time! Definitely go for the all inclusive package that includes the activities, meals and ground transportation! They make it about as seamless of an experience as possible! In the weeks prior to your visit, their concierge team reaches out to help schedule any activities you may want to, a majority of which are included, huzzah!! They also help with your dining reservations and schedule ground transportation to pick up and drop you off from the airport. They even had car seats for both of our kids so we didn't have to lug ours all the way there.Cabin: We stayed in the Aspen cabin which featured two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room.It was the perfect and had a great location up one of the hills on property. Front porch overlooked the main area of the property and the back porch looked out into a meadow. Housekeeping came through daily and each morning there was hot coffee waiting on the porch for us when we woke up.Dining: The Horn & Cantle Restaurant is where we had a majority of our meals. They had a great breakfast and lunch spread each morning and then dinner was full service and always delicious. We also did the Ranch BBQ one of the nights and the Street Dinner up where the rodeo was. Both equally delicious. Plenty of variety without having to leave the property.Activities: Too many to list! The highlight was watching my kids have a blast. From feeding the horses, trail rides on the horses, helping groom the horses to the ropes course, archery, guided hike and the day trip to Yellowstone, we were certainly never bored. We never felt overwhelmed though either. Everything was paced nicely and if there was something we didn't want to do we could change things around.Service: Everything you'd want and expect from a place like this! They were prompt, responsive and most importantly, great with the kids. I believe you can tell a lot about a place by how their team treats and interacts with kids and this team goes above and beyond. When you're on a trip, if the kids are happy, usually everyone is! I also loved the 24 hour text service they have. You can text the team day or night for any requests.Location: Absolutely spectacular! I believe they have over 100 acres at the Ranch and all of it was beautiful! We loved just going out and exploring the various trails, creeks, etc.All of this to say, it truly is a special place with a great team and if you have the opportunity to go, you should!

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE ESPECIALLY FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES!! This place has the worst nordic shop I have ever come across- everyone in the shop is scowling and look like they want to hurt you. There's a blonde girl who works at the nordic desk that is incredibly rude and doesn't even know anything about nordic skiing. I've seen them dump their guests on the nordic trails without any information and watch the guests struggle to put on their skis and to find the trail not to mention they've gotten zero guidance on how to ski. This place has the most unprofessional staff I have ever seen there is frequent screaming and yelling at each other while guests are present (how embarassing). The groomed nordic trails are awesome however, that is the only positive. Do yourself a favor and stay away from lone mountain ranch.

Exceptional service in a spectacular location. The staff’s focus is guest satisfaction. The accommodations were clean, well maintained and luxurious. The tour of Yellowstone National Park was amazing and our guide Chad was knowledgeable and provided great service. The on-site restaurant has great service and the food is delicious. Large portions and a great amount of care goes into making every meal. The sweeping mountain views are the perfect setting for this luxury ranch. Highly recommend you stay at the Lone Mountain Ranch. You check in and can check out for total relaxation and recharge.Rooms: Luxurious and well maintained. Attention to detail.Food & drinks: Exceptional high quality food. Very large portions.

This is a special place. The days started with finding hot steamy coffee at our doorstep when we woke up (a fantastic idea) and kept getting better from there. At the breakfast buffet the friendly staff made sure we had all we needed. Everyone in hospitality and in activities was exceedingly kind and helpful. Monica is an awesome horseback riding guide who took us on some beautiful rides. See the rodeo. Dance at the BBQ.

We celebrated a 40th Birthday at Lone Mountain Ranch. We loved our stay! It was so special. Our stay was quiet and romantic. The staff were so helpful. Every morning they brought fresh coffee and brought firewood straight to the door. We booked the sleigh ride dinner. The ride back was AMAZING- the stars were breathtaking. The performer at the sleigh ride dinner was kind enough to sing happy birthday. We will definitely be back!

Lone Mountain Ranch is a world-class guest ranch that offers a variety of activities, including horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, and skiing. The accommodations are rustic-chic cabins, and the food is farm-to-table. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.I stayed at Lone Mountain Ranch for a week in the summer of 2022. I had a wonderful time! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the activities were all great. I especially enjoyed horseback riding and fly fishing. The food was delicious, and the cabins were comfortable. I would definitely recommend Lone Mountain Ranch to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in Montana.

This is an amazing resort, with wonderful service and knowledgeable staff. Great winter activities. We’ll visit again in the Spring for sure.Rooms: Our room had a fireplace and all the wood that you could burn for the entire day. Clean, well stocked and comfortable cabins.

What a wonderful place. We have stayed here in the winter the past 3 years and decided to try it out for a summer vacation. We have 4 children ages 8-12. I can't say enough about how amazing this place is. It has cozy cabins and great feel, excellent food and an unbelievable staff. We will definitely be back. So many things to enjoy...wintertime skiing, x country, sledding, snowshoeing, Yellowstone and summertime horsebackriding, fishing and hiking. Not a single complaint.

Rodeo: It was a good time. Food was above average. Everyone was friendly and all the events were authentic.Only giving 4 stars because I do have a couple of complaints. At least 75% of the crowd is tourists who have little knowledge of the events and scoring system, so the announcer needs to give an introduction to what’s going on and how the scoring/disqualifications are judged. Also the bleachers stare straight into the late afternoon sun making viewing the events impossible without holding a hand or makeshift visor over your eyes. Most tourists don’t know to bring a hat, so do everyone a favor and offer your guests inexpensive visors with the Lone Mountain Ranch logo on them. A win-win

Service was majorly lacking. The focus should be on the experience rather than silly details like a record player in the room (with scratched warped records). If it’s raining there is literally nothing to do and no where to sit and visit with friends. You can’t park anywhere near your cabins which is nice to not have the road noise however depending on the staff to give you a ride to your car (in the mud and pouring rain) is not realistic. They weren’t very friendly here and we won’t be returning. Rooms were nice but for the price, I expected much more from this “resort”.

Spent a day cross country skiing here while we were at Big Sky ski resort. Wonderful helpful and welcoming staff, beautiful cross country ski trails and easy ski rentals. Comfortable and very welcoming first class resort. Would definitely consider staying here in the cabins we saw. Thanks for a great day Lone Mountain!

Wowsa is thus place AMAZING! If you are a Nordic skier, look no further. The trails are magnificent, the views are magnificent, and the grooming is stellar! Lone Mountain Ranch ROCKS in every way.I did not stay here, but skied here for five days. If I had more days, I would have skied more. The people are really nice. And even if you are not staying, the hospitality is first class. Lone Mountain Ranch is a Nordic gem.

We popped in with a Day Pass for snowshoeing earlier this week and ended up having lunch at Horn & Cantle in between trails. What a gorgeous property with well marked trails. Next time we’ll return to check out their groomed cc skiing trails! I tried to get my husband and myself lost a couple times, haha, but couldn’t do it because of the well spaced trail signs and the app the rental attendant recommended we download and use. Chatted with the very friendly and helpful ranch ambassador, John, down at the lodge who told us about live music, great food and fun at the Saloon (dining room dinner reservations were booked up) so we went back a couple nights later for dinner and lively music from Bruce and followed by Amanda Stewart & crew. Really enjoyed this ranch - we look forward to returning next time we’re in Montana.

(for the restaurant)We found this spot by tips for locals. We'd never found this place otherwise. The restaurant ist great but the whole little lodging area is super nice. We were able to feed the horses which was super fun for the kids. Thank you very much!

Lone Mountain is an upscale experience, and guests no doubt expect that. But this place delivers on that promise in large part due to their outstanding location, the quaint cabins, and most importantly, to the individuals who work here and make it their mission to ensure you visit is special. People like Patrick (GM), John Allen (yes, he deserves two names) (guest ambassador), Emma (nordic team), and Stevie (bartender who remembers your name), the people make this place special. Myles helped with a fireplace issue. Hamlet, who brought us to this place from Bozeman and has been working here for 30+ years. Our waitresses, our wranglers, our housekeeping staff, and the folks who brought extra wood when we needed it. Did I mention coffee in Stanley thermoses at your doorstep each morning? This place runs on the fuel of people who make this experience magical. Come check it out .. we will be back.

Extremely pleased with the service and cuisine! It might seem a bit pricey but you get a lot of food and anything you order from the menu is 5star! And lots left over to take home. Would love to stay there in their cabins for a few days! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful evening.

This place is like no other. The surrounding mountains only add to the beautiful scenery. The cabins are amazing, clean and comfortable. The chef has an exceptional menu. Everybody on the ranch was polite, professional, we felt like we knew every staff member as friends. We are very thankful to have had our wedding here and share the time at this amazing place with amazing people. Thank you all.

We did the sleigh ride dinner. First they packed several of us into a cabin to eat dinner after the ride up hill. The guy setting behind me kept hitting me with his chair do to the tightness of the room. It was so packed that the only waitress serving 25 to 30 (maybe more I didn’t count) people was tripping over patrons chairs. She bumped into one of my female companions chair every time she walked past. She bumped into another ladies chair at a different table and when that lady turned around the waitress just looked back and gave her a loud grunt. The best part of the meal for me was the potato leak soup. Not sure I spelled that soup correctly. But it took 4 spoon fulls to eat all that they gave me. There was plenty of other food to get full on so I shrugged that off. The wife set the evening up with them so I am not sure if there was any other meat option. But they served prime rib so as everyone knows. It’s cooked rare so no option on how my meat was prepared. I don’t eat rare meat. I like my beef cooked well done so I didn’t get any meat that night of March 6. But that’s on me. But for the price they should take dinner orders while you wait down in the gift shop area and offer other meat choices. But like I said that’s just my preference. Lack of multiple servers really sucked. Door on cabin needs something to pull door shut. Every time someone went to outhouse or came back in the door never got shut and our table was by the door and the table next to us also. Heard them complain multiple times about being cold because door was hard to close. The sleigh ride and the old guy playing guitar was nice though. Dinner experience itself sucked. Staff was extremely nice except waitress. And she was definitely over worked taking care of that many people.

This place has been above and beyond. From the food to the service everything has been above and beyond. We stayed in the chipmunk cabin and it is adorable and perfect for two. We loved the yellow stone snow mobile tour, the ski trails a step away from your cabin and the nightly bonfires. The saloon is the perfect place to end your day. Craig, Zack and Duke are the nicest bar tenders and made our trip so much fun. And Just when I thought it could not get better I found out they deliver breakfast in bed to your cabin! You text the concierge and they place your order and bring everything to you. Honestly the service is just next level. Currently eating bacon and eggs in bed, in my robe, watching it snow outside.

This ranch is amazing! It has incredible views, however what makes it even better is the food and their Hospitality Manager Stephanie. I went to Lone Ranch Horn & Cantle for a girls' trip and had an incredible dinner. It was the best steak I have ever had. So much so that I flew into Montana with my husband two months later for Labor day weekend. Just by chance the ranch was doing a festival which was awesome.
