This is a great location! It is close to Many Glacier and the E. entrance of Going to the Sun Road. The campground is in a nice aspen grove. The sites aren't too close. The signage is good. The bathrooms were not very clean. And there was only a single room for the toilet/shower/sink. The entire campground has to share 1 men's room and 1 women's room. Anyone with a code could get into the men's room even if it was locked so it didn't provide any privacy. There are free showers which is nice! There is a residence adjacent to the campground. There were dogs that would bark in the early mornings and they woke us up. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was some kind of bar that was nearby where we could hear the music and person on a microphone until 2 am.

Loved the stay at this lodge! felt like summer camp in all the best ways. The staff is so friendly and caring. I had a knee injury and they made sure I had access to ice even when staff wasn’t there. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Bathrooms are shared but we had no problem or traffic jams with other guests. Again, very clean facilities. It gets quite warm during the day but the window units in each room help. Also had breakfast at the cafe in the morning and it was delicious! Very scenic spot and close to glacier park! Loved it.

Montana's Duck Lake Lodge somehow reminded me of the Skyfall home of James Bond in the 007 movie. The views and scenery of the property is spectacular - at least, I have not been to a place like this before. The location is perfect - easy drive from the Going-to-the-sun road (St Mary) and the Many Glacier area. The rooms are of a rustic setting, so you should not expect the luxury of an urban hotel; but it was clean and cozy. It was a good value for money compared to other stays nearby to St Mary. Terri is a great host who is very welcoming and hospitable. The food is awesome.

We tented in our recent visit for 4 nights while visiting glacier. You can’t beat the location, little removed, but a very easy drive to Many Glacier and Going to Sun Road. No Mountain View’s from the campsites.Campsites were nice and flat, not very weedy. Our table was very wobbly. The sites were a decent way apart from each other. There was a single family residence next to the tent sites that had dogs that would bark at night and in the early morning. The bathrooms were a single mens and a single womens with a shower in both. The men’s room didn’t have a lock on it, so someone could walk in while you are pooping. They weren’t the cleanest, but the toilet/sink were clean(kinda what matters). There was a wait for the bathrooms sometimes. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have stuff for sale like snacks and ice. The lobby was really nice and they had a small restaurant inside. Somewhere you could hang out on a rainy day.I would stay here again, but it wasn’t the nicest campground.

Stayed there while visiting Glacier. It was a nice location, but the room we stayed in was kind of dirty. There was food left in the mini fridge. Everything just seemed slapped together and half finished when it came to maintenance. The room was also noisy. You could hear every foot step the person in the room above you was making. I'm glad there was a container of cleaning wipes in the room so I could wipe things down.

Outstanding campground with hot showers, laundry, wash sink, and even a basketball hoop. Site 6 had more than enough space for our large tent. Saved our trip after Many Glaciers campground closed to soft tents. Thanks to our host Terri!

You cannot beat the location or the hospitality of this wonderful place! Terry and her husband are such kind hosts. You feel like you’re being welcomed home upon arrival. Terry always greeted us with a friendly smile and her joyful presence lit up the room. Before you stay here, read what you’re getting yourself into. They publicly state how the lodge is rustic with common areas that are shared among other patrons. And we absolutely loved it!! You have a true taste for Montana hospitality here. Any reviews shy of 5 stars are from guests who booked knowing full well this isn’t a city hotel yet were disappointed it wasn’t. You’re far from the city here, which is the point.Centrally located to access all the East Glacier park entrances alongside having a restaurant, games, gift shop, and a peaceful setting to relax after a good hike. The food portions are huge by the way! They will feed you well for sure. And the quality of their water was amazing! Terry always let us fill our camelbacks with ice and that amazing water each day. We stayed here 4 nights and were more than happy with the accommodations. Would absolutely come again. Don’t miss out on staying here if you’re visiting East Glacier and looking for a reasonably priced, hospitable place to rest.

Duck Lake Lodge is the perfect spot to stay when visiting the East side of Glacier National Park. Close to St. Mary’s and Many Glacier. Such a safe, beautiful and quiet spot to relax after hiking in the Park. Terri and Max make you feel at home. Highly recommend it. We had a lovely time enjoying the views, food and hospitality that they offer, will be back ❤️

The campsites were average. However, the tent areas were not very level. The bathroom/showers for campers were closed but you were able to share the two showers that they had for people who were staying in the lodge. It made it a long wait to be able to shower. The food in the Lodge was affordable but not very good. It was frozen food that was warmed or fried to order. Our fries were undercooked and our other food just didn't taste very good. The staff was not rude but not too friendly either. The campsites were reasonably priced.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights as we visited Glacier National Park. Being on the east side of the park is incredible as you are extremely close from this lodge to the eastern entrances of the park. Terri, the host of Duck Lake Lodge, is wonderful and gracious and makes this stay a great experience. She is so kind to talk to and makes every effort to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The rooms were clean and nice and had every needed amenity. The showers and bathrooms were also clean and convenient. All of the food they make is wonderful. We ate dinner several nights there and had breakfast, enjoying their amazing homemade cinnamon roll. We cannot recommend this place enough. If you want an affordable stay less than 15 minutes from the park, you absolutely need to stay here!

The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. It was a welcoming and relaxed environment that is perfect after a long day hike. The description of the place is on point - it’s rustic, you’re sharing bathrooms (that are spotless), you’re sleeping in twin beds (which I had the 2 best nights of sleep of my entire trip) - it’s a no frills environment and it’s perfect. Teri is a gracious host- she’s warm and inviting and a pleasure to chat with. We were very pleased with our stay and look forward to coming again. …and I can’t forget the breakfast… soooooo good!!!

Beautiful lodge-quaint,cozy rooms. Lovely lobby decorated with animal skins and mounted heads. Lobby also has 2 comfortable couches with additional wooden tables to eat your food plus nice mounted tv with satellite channels. There are 3 shared bathrooms per 5 guest rooms plus 2 bathrooms downstairs-never had any problem with gaining access to any. There is a nice pond, horses roaming around, and picnic tables outside. The owner is very nice and friendly. Would love to stay here again in the future.

I stayed here for a week and had the best service. The owner was willing to help out with anything/everything she could (even surprised us with cookies one night!) and was available as needed. Beautiful location - I woke up to a view of the Many Glacier mountains every morning. Food was great, wifi available. Rooms are small with shared bathrooms, but it’s all you need to enjoy your time in a beautiful place. Lots of wildlife around, as an added bonus!

Great location for exploring the east side of Glacier National Park. Dog friendly! Rooms are small and the bathroom facilities located in the inner hallway are shared. They were clean and always available (there are two of each type of room: sink, sink/toilet, and shower.) We ordered dinner from the restaurant. I got the feeling that due to the pandemic, they have cut back on their offerings... both the the pizza and burger seemed like packaged/frozen foods. We were able to eat our dinner outside on one of their picnic benches. Overall an excellent value.

Montana’s Duck Lake Lodge and Terri, the owner, is the best place to stay while visiting Glacier National Park! Wonderful accommodations, the friendliest staff, and less than 20 minutes from the park. My brother and I stayed here 4 nights and we agreed when we come back to visit Glacier we are staying here! The availability of food (which was delicious! We recommend the breakfast burritos or the flapjacks with huckleberry compote!) Made the stay even more enjoyable. We didn’t have to worry about finding somewhere else to eat if we were hungry. Cannot wait to come back and stay again!

A 5 is a perfect score in my book, so due to a few personal, minor things I had to knock it down to a 4-but if you aren't bothered by what I am bothered by, it is probably a 5! This is an excellent place to stay for a night while visiting Many Glacier of Glacier National Park in particular. The food is fantastic, the staff is incredibly polite, and the cleanliness and personal touches of the place are exceptional. The things that bugged me were a) the college-dorm feel of sharing a bathroom with 3 other rooms (although, they do tell you this up-front and there are separate rooms for the vanity, toilet, and shower, so that makes it less inconvenient), b) the place is smaller than a hotel, of course, so if the other guests stay up late in the lobby/kitchen/etc. which is underneath the rooms on the second floor, you will hear everything, c) $149/night is a lot for the above (but once again giving credit to where it is due, I shared my concerns and they gave me a discounted rate), and d) there was no TV in my room (only 1 in the lobby). All in all, this place was a good night's rest in a very convenient location, and best of all, I did feel safe. P.S. Again, the Manager was so kind. I shared with her my frustration about how bear spray was so expensive at area stores and that I did not buy it, all the while still feeling a bit nervous for my upcoming hike because of that decision. So, she gave me a can she happened to have. I asked her for a price, and she said "pay it forward."

Such a gem! We stayed here for the first time a week ago and it was so perfect for our week up in Glacier. Very conveniently located just outside the east entrance of the park. Even with the construction at the east entrance it took us no more than 45 minutes to get to a trailhead. The food was surprisingly great! We had breakfast omelettes every morning which hit the spot for along day of hiking that followed. The chicken/bacon/ranch pizza was very very good! They are pet and family friendly and the vibe is super laid back and relaxed. The staff was super friendly and knowledgable. I was concerned about the beds being uncomfortable but I was wrong - I slept like a dream every night. I would highly recommend this place and we look forward to returning.

My friends and I stayed three nights total. We spent the first night in the cabin (which is what we had reserved). When asking about the showers, Terri told us we could use the showers in the lodge. Very nice and accommodating! The cabin would have worked all 3 nights for us, but when we got back from our evening hike, there were a lot of moths in there. So, the next morning, we checked if there were any availabilities in the lodge, and Terri said "yes." So kind of her, she allowed us to move things into our lodge room even though it had just been checked out that morning and not cleaned yet. When we got back that evening, our room was clean and ready to go... talk about going the extra mile for us!Excellent location... not far from the St Mary entrance or Many Glacier entrance to Glacier NP. If I come back to Glacier NP sometime, there's a good chance I'll stay here again!

Excellent place to stay when visiting the Many Glacier area or East side of Glacier. Clean, very comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff. We had two excellent meals here (taco dinner on a Monday night after a LONG hike in glacier, then a delicious breakfast). I highly recommend it and would definitely return if I’m ever back in the area.

A convenient spot in east glacier to explore that side of the park. The rooms are small but are enough. We wish we’d spent another night at this lodge instead of going to west glacier the next night. In west glacier, the hotels are nicer but the hikes are less impressive.

This review is going to go in depth as much as possible. While I enjoyed my stay here it was not what was expected and because of that I will do my best to break down what to expect from this cute lodge.First let me begin by saying that the pricing is fantastic, hosts friendly, and food was actually really great! Me and some friends came through for 2 nights in the middle of summer. From this experience there should be some things noted. The ponds in the photos appear very nice and clean but during our stay were completely covered in weeds and not super picturesque, however, beavers were swimming around nonetheless and were cool to watch out the window. The rooms were not what I was expecting! Perhaps I did not understand the photos or maybe other reviews said this and I missed it, but the rooms actually are very small. We got a room with 2 twin beds and that's it. I am not kidding, there is no bathroom, kitchenette, or sink. I would say that this was no bother for my party as we all are guys and really didn't mind going into the hallway to share a bathroom with 6 other rooms. And because of only being there 2 nights, we made the decision to skip showers rather than share those in the hall as well. This was not something I feel was abundantly clear and while not problematic, it certainly was not expected.I would argue that the lodge has got some of the best food North of Browning, it was fresh, delicious, and not overly priced. We had breakfast and it was really great! We did decide to eat dinner elsewhere as there is live music during the evening, and while the music was great, that was just not what we were looking for at the time. In terms of the hosts, I have seen all of the reviews giving glowing reviews of them and I can't argue. Very personable, was always there to help with any questions we might have and more than willing to tell us about the surrounding area so we could plan our trip accordingly.I highly recommend this lodge to anyone who isn't much of a complainer. It is a cheap place to go, sleep on a less than outstanding but sufficient bed, and wake up to an amazing view and good food. If you are a picky person this is not the place for you, there is no air conditioning (fans are provided), you share a restroom with other rooms, and I imagine showering is a bit of an operation in the morning/evening. Because of how small the room we were in was I also imagine this is not the place for groups much larger than 3-4 people. My stay here was really on point, it certainly gave me and my friends plenty of memories and I think that while it is eccentric, it also feels like a home to go back to after a long day hiking. I hope this review can really help people trying to decide if this is the place for them this summer! If this review stood out to you or revealed any new information a like always helps long reviews like this get to the top, and it is appreciated. :)

We were in desperate need of reliable wifi for an unexpected work situation. All of St. Mary’s had a power outage and the fantastic folks at Montana’s Duck Lake Lodge came to the rescue with their very reliable Starlink connection! Did I mention this was at 10 pm??? We are EXTREMELY grateful! To boot, our bed was comfy, the shared facilities were spotless, the towels white and fluffy and breakfast was FANTASTIC!Thank you so very very much!
