Rolling into this campground is like a rollercoaster ride, kinda fun really. We stayed at site 53 in Ridge Campground. The picture on the website is off quite a bit. There aren't very many level sites here, and most are on an incline or sloped. Other than the family sites, they are spaced apart nicely, for the most part. The campground hosts and rangers are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There is a play yard up by the bathrooms and a laundry facility. There are 2 washers (only one was working) that costs $1.50/load, and 2 dryers that cost $1/load. Although it is a beautiful area, I would not stay here again with a 30ft travel trailer. It is very suitable for tents and smaller campers. They also have numerous cabins that looked very nice and decent walking trails. We did not stay at Asher Creek campground, but we did walk around it. There are 2 11° grade hills in and out..if you like that sort of thing when towing. It is right on the lake, beautiful views.

Small park with a shelter and several picnic tables and a playground. Plush toilets and sinks in season. Some lake views but very vlocked when trees have leaves. Camping nearby. We'll maintained and blazed trails nearby. Clears signage from Hiway to the park.Restrooms: Flush with sinks. In season. Best to bring toilet paper.

While it could be due to the time of the year, we were pleased with how quiet the camp grounds were. Even with one arge family group. Restrooms were very clean. Location was great. We will definitely go back.

Very nice, well kept state park. Staff was super friendly even though they were swamped with hungry tourists. Bathrooms were immaculate. I only wish that all the day use areas had a picnic/dedicated shelter site (that provided a shelter) there. We found 1 such building, but it wasnt at the area we were at. Also, we got slightly wrong information about where to get solar eclipse tshirts, both physically and online, oh well, 😅 this event only happens every 20 yrs.

Sites have long gravel drives for trailer and toe vehicle. Unique fire pits and hangout space attached to each campsite. Trails are fun to hike not as well traveled as some state parks.Playground: Small kid friendly space, a slide and monkey barsRestrooms: Nice showers and restroom spaceDog-friendliness: Great place to bring a dog to camp and hike

This park is beautiful and very well kept up. We camped at the Ridge Campground and I was very impressed. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and we had no problems at our campsites because all the other campers were respectful and responsible. I definitely recommend this park for camping.

Visited April, 2023. Ridge campground had nice bathrooms, showers and even had a laundry. Very hilly getting there, the kids loved the "roller coaster ride". But campsites were level and easy to back into. Nice sunset views. Nice playground, but was small. Nice wooded area surrounding campground. The hosts were nice and had a neat decorated trailer. Big "ring" for campfire, with one section having a fixed grate and the other just open, making it easy to make "peeps" smores. Very quiet at night, but again not to many campers this time of year. No flying or biting bugs, well maybe some gnats. Self check-in via texting didn't work, but staff easily checked us in. Great price for a site with electricity.

We had the perfect spot at Asher Creek campground. Donna and Darell were fantasic camp host, very helpful, and informative of the area. The rest areas were super clean thanks to Cera and Wayne!! Can't wait to be back again!

We call it lake crapapello rented a boat.. One min your in 10ft water the next 2ft. Cabins were awful.. One tv smaller than a laptop screen. Small ticks everywhere we were covered in them.. No real place to fish.. Told you get a lake view and you don't. Add does not tell the truth.. Would not go back if they paid me to...

A big park built around the lake. There is plenty of camping and RV hook ups. There is a backpacking trail that goes along the lake with camping sites along the way. There's a park office where you can get brociers and information about the lake and park. The ranger and all the staff were helpful. There are playgrounds and plenty of picnic pavilions as well as grills. The campground have a bathhouse with electricity.

Nice quiet campground. We stayed for several nights at Ridge campground(#20). We loved having the nice tree cover for shade. But we wish they would thin out the trees slightly so we could have enjoyed our view of the lake more. A nice path to the water would be nice too. Instead we did enjoy a couple of days swimming at the beach. After a night with rain the mosquitoes were swarming. Even OFF didn’t help. Our best defense was our box fan. But after things dried out, they were tolerable. But we expect that here in Missouri.🙂 We would visit this campground again.

It's so beautiful and peaceful at Asher Creek campground. The bathrooms and shower houses are very clean with plenty of hot water. There are trails to hike, fishing, swimming, boating or just sitting at camp and relaxing. The park Host are wonderful! I'm a little ways from drinking water and the male Host brought me a 2 1/2 gallon, collapsible water bottle, full of water and is letting me use it while I'm here. I thought that was really super awesome of them!Playground: There's not a playground in the particular campground I'm staying in, but there is a nice playground within a 3-5 minute drive from Asher Creek campground.Dog-friendliness: My little Fur Baby camped with me and there were other campers who had their babies with them. They're required to be on a leash at all times.Picnic area: Looks to be very clean and well maintained.

Nicely wooded sites. Some sites are a little close to each other. Beach area is nice and hiking trails are aplenty.

I wish the trails were better marked and the large trees were cleared. My husband and I are not an experienced hiker so we didn't really go far on the trails before we turned back. We didn't want to have to climb over the trees mainly because it's baby copperhead season and fealt it not safe enough to keep going.
