Love our new composite deck, it looks wonderful and we’ll be able to enjoy it a lot more since we won’t have to worry about replacing a few boards every year and staining it. The whole process went smoothly, delivery of materials, installation, and cleanup! It really looks perfect, thank you! Troy was so quick taking the rails off the old wooden one I didn’t get a complete “before” pic, but the “after” is beautiful.

We had Midtown replace our deck. It’s really nice and was built in a very timely manner. Haven’t been able to enjoy it too much because of weather, however it is holding up to the extreme cold. We look forward to using our new deck as soon as weather becomes nice enough. Thanks midtown for deck and we are looking forward to working with you all again.

Update in response: Midtown Home Improvements is the name of the company on the county records permit. The deck was built just before I bought the house so the transfer of property voids the warranty. Fact still remains I own their product and the material they choose to use is inferior to other products on the market. I will restate that I don't have the slightest criticism for the build quality, only the inferior materials used. Our Deck was built in 2017. The build quality is good, but the CPUC material is not. It is apparently notorious for delaminating in direct sunlight. I can not get anyone from warranty to contact me to resolve this. It's been continuously degrading for the past year.

Really disappointed. The salesmen do a great job on selling you what a reliable and dependable company they are. We signed a contract knowing it was over priced compared to competitors because we thought they would be more dependable. They ended up cancelling our contract after the fact saying they couldn't do the work after all after looking closer and it has taken way too long to get a refund. We are still waiting despite them cancelling the contract not us. We have receives mixed messages from various people we have communicated with too. Just disappointed.

I am so excited about Midtown Improvements commitment to new clients. The agent who came to show me decking ideas was polite, interested in my needs and wants, prepared with documentation on their company and materials. I was surprised by the outstanding reputation of this company and learned a lot of information about decking products that I didn’t know prior to deciding to replace my existing 19 year old deck. The appointment was not rushed and I never felt pressured to make a final decision at this time. After the appointment I was so happy I choice Midtown. Another company came later in the day and I was again surprised by the sales rep. This one had no interest in my wants or needs or my budget concerns. I will consider this company for other home improvements in the future. I’m glad I didn’t over think my decision and made Midtown Home Improvements my choice.

My overall experience with Midtown was great - from the time for consulting to the actual installment of their top-rated windows. The consultation with their window sales person, Nick Sachs, was professional and informative. He answered all of my questions and helped address all of my concerns. The communication and scheduling with the office was timely once I signed the agreement with them. The installers were very professional and did the job fast and thoroughly. I appreciate the open communication throughout the time I talked to Nick to the time the windows were fully installed. The quality of their windows are as promised. Now I wished I had my windows replaced much earlier! I'll definitely using them again for future home projects!

We had our roof replaced by Midtown and they were great to work with. They walked us through the whole process and each detail thoroughly and was able to replace our roof within a month, ahead of schedule. Our new roof looks great as was installed in a day. Very easy process. Highly recommend.

We were offered a quote for a project on our home. Our home is well out of the way from Midtown's office so it took the project manager, Cory, a bit of time to drive out to us. He arrived perfectly on time and had all of the information needed for the project. Cory was very informative and down to earth as he discussed options and ability. Due to our current timeline and other factors, we weren't able to commit to a contract at this time. However, we will keep Midtown as a priority option for the future because of the interaction with Cory and the quality of product Midtown will be able to supply. Thanks again for taking the time to come out, being very informative, and being considerate with our needs and current situation.

Have had our windows & doors replaced and have been so pleased with the entire process. We also had our gutters replaced. From the initial review with Joseph Orebaugh, to the measurements, the work, the clean up & communication with the company for all appointments. We are thrilled with their professionalism & concern for our project. They wanted us to be satisfied with our results & we were!!!. Have already recommended them to our neighbors & friends.

I would advise against getting a quote from Midtown unless you are left with few other options. They quoted a price to do a full kitchen remodel at $116,000 (good for a year) and $75,000 if we signed today. Our kitchen is small to medium sized at best. $75k is still a quarter of the value of the home. The salesperson also mentioned that many young people would accept this quote immediately without question but “we seemed smart.” He was strongly implying that he is able to take advantage of people. I understand that Midtown may not be for everyone, but not everyone should be insulted or taken advantage of in that way.

We had Midtown Home Improvements Install replacement windows for most of the windows in our house. Their customer service was nice and easy to communicate with. The installers were extremely professional, efficient, and clean. For those I would give 4.5 stars. The window quality and craftsmanship are good, and they function smoothly, and generally are nice windows. HOWEVER, it turns out the type of glass on the windows they install (sure they are energy efficient) have a GREEN tint, which has changed the color of the light entering my home, and in turn has changed the mood in my house. I used to have warm colored light entering, but now the light coming in my home casts a sickly yellowish tint due to the green on the new window glass. This has been extremely disappointing and difficult to adjust to. Apparently it is due to the efficient Low E coating on the triple pane glass. But if I knew the light color in my house would change, I would never have gone for these windows. The salesman who came to our house sold us on the idea of energy efficiency of triple pane windows and how they are comparable to Andersen brand windows, if not better. The windows we replaced were Andersen. We didn't know much about what to look for in new windows (I thought it was pretty straightforward), so we were sold on the idea and signed a contract. He never told us that different levels of Low E cause the glass to be greenish, and that it would change the color of light entering my home. The second time he came (we were doing an order change) he showed us a sample of the window, and when my husband asked about the glass color, the salesman replied that it wouldn't be noticeable once the windows were up. Unfortunately that is ALL Ive noticed for the past two weeks since we had them installed. I've been trying to get used to them and it's difficult. Additionally, he forgot to mention another essential point - that with replacement windows, your window size actually shrinks. While this isn't a big deal on my bigger windows, the smaller windows in my laundry room and kitchen are now 20% smaller, in addition to turning the once white and warm space, yellowish green. While I've been trying to adjust to the rest of the house, I simply cannot adjust to the kitchen and laundry room and am seriously considering getting them replaced again, with a full frame replacement (again we weren't told about this type of window replacement option) and a non-green glass. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and i just have not been able to get used to that drastic change in color and size. It should be the company responsibility to bring in glass samples for comparison and explain the color change, in addition to the size changes. Also they need to explain the different energy performance ratings and what those numbers mean so the consumer can make a more educated decision. I briefly spoke with midtown about being unhappy specifically with these two windows (since I can't do much about other ones), but they didn't have much to say and didn't offer any options. Again, this is my experience. Someone else may tell you they don't mind the glass color at all, but for me it was an extremely important point that was completely overlooked.

They were great! We got our back deck done. Our back deck was supporting our roof and they were able to handle it. The project started sooner than expected and was completed on time. The deck looks fantastic and the crew cleaned everything up at the end.

Zach Kleine is the sales rep that came by and the experience was pretty great! He was very informative, answered all my questions, and was on time. He’s a super likable guy and is clearly very knowledgeable about the industry. He answered questions I didn’t even know I had. Highly recommend

** To clarify: Yes, this quote did come from Midtown. They even recently reached out to me again to see if they could give us quotes on other business, so they clearly are aware of the quote they gave us. **Get more quotes than just Midtown's!!I want to start off by saying that we did not end up doing business with Midtown, so this review is not indicative of their build quality, materials, or communication during a project. We had someone come by asking if we needed any work done. I saw they did fences and set up a consultation. When the salesman came by, he said he was a project manager for Midtown. We discussed a bit as he began measuring, and told him that we wanted to connect to our neighbors' fences. He told us that our neighbors' fences are inferior quality (they are fading slightly) and we shouldn't connect to them. Doubling up on our neighbors' fences is about an extra 100 ft of fence for us. We told him we didnt want to, but he proceeded to measure the full perimeter of our backyard anyway. As he measured, he told us about Midtown's options and how great Midtown is. To the point of bragging rather than being proud. He was quick to point out flaws in the fences around our house, which was helpful in some ways, but also excessive. When we sat down to discuss numbers, he prepped us by showing us a chart with average prices per 50 ft as being $4-6k, and top-tier being $8k. We were shocked, since we had 420 ft of fence to put in. We were never going to afford a fence, since it was going to cost more than any car we'll own in the next 20 years. He continued to crunch the numbers, continuing to prop Midtown up on a pedestal (I'm sure they're a fine company, but it was excessive). When he finished, he told us it was going to cost $63,000 to fence our yard with no discounts. Our jaws dropped. He tried to give us 15% percent off, brining it to $50,000 (we obviously declined). He then offered us a today-only 35% off, bringing it to $40,000. We were awestruck at this point and brokenheartedly laughing. We told him thank you and he left.Fast forward to now, and we had another company come out to give us a quote. Their quote (for a similar fence) was $18,000 with no discounts. I have no idea how Midtown is selling any fences with prices nearly 4x that of competitors. I would be very careful with getting quotes from Midtown, as they seem to be asking for considerably more than other companies and their salesmen will not listen to you. If anything, be sure to get other quotes before going with them.

Please read!! We had a rep come out to our home for roofing, gutters, siding, etc. We decided to get a quote on roofing and gutters first, then save the siding for a later time. Rep showed up an hour early when we weren't home, came back 20 mins later (we still were not home), and then again on time. We don't have a huge house, but its not entirely small either. About 15/16 sq of roofing. Rep kept pushing for us to buy that night, didn't really know the answers to my questions, and when I brought up insurance he told me that the company wasn't going to cover the roof since we just moved in last year. Said that the insurance company will only see us as asking for money. I found out this morning that our roof is covered by insurance and our premium will actually GO DOWN. He kept pushing us to sign that night, wrote all the numbers down on a sheet of paper, then when I kept insisting that I would want to talk to my insurance company first everything changed. He literally ripped the paper in half, and basically the price went from 17K up to 28K because we didn't sign on the spot. On the way out, he gathered his stuff and said "you have my number" and left. Didn't even say thank you or nice to meet with you or shake our hands. My husband put a ladder to gain access to the roof because we had a question about it, and he shakily walked up the ladder and didn't even step foot on the roof. The kicker is, once he left I spoke with some friends of mine who used them, and they had a horrible experience with this company. They had their roof done by Midtown and they installed it wrong, they could not get ahold of their rep to tell them about the issues, their roof CONTINUED to leak after the new install, etc. As new homeowners. I was looking forward to this company just to be disappointed.

Midtown connected me with a fantastic subcontractor in Brian Dorenkamp, who I highly recommend for any job. Midtown itself as a primary contractor is very expensive and uses high-pressure sales tactics to get you to sign before you have a moment to cross shop or talk with a financial advisor. The material and labor they sourced for me, and the work they did to design, draw, and organize, and communicate the project was all pretty good. Still, I warn you not to let them convince you you're getting a great deal on it until you thoroughly interrogate that claim. My new bathroom is great; I just feel like I overpaid for it.

Met with Bob Miller and Caleb for a quote and we decided to have 25 windows replaced. With Midtown it was a great experience. The crew (2 guys) took out and installed all 25 windows in two days! They were professional and efficient. We love our new windows. The full glass in the front room is our favorite view.Service: Window installation

A very wise man named Nick Mikus came to my house to show me about a new deck system. Very impressed with material with his way of showing me every thing an was just super nice not pushy. He was an awesome salesmen you should be very proud of his abilities in selling your product. I can't wait for my new deck.

Blake and Joe stopped by on our day off to show us what Midtown Home Improvements could do for us regarding a fence for our new build home. Blake and Joe were very personal and welcoming, which we appreciate just as much as the product quality itself. They were able to bring some product for us to see in person and did a great job answering our questions or concerns. We look forward to our installment!

Would love to rate a zero!!! WARNING!!!!!HIGH PRESSURE SALESMEN that are pushy and rude!! I feel that I need to share our families experience with Midtown Home Improvements (based out of Wentzville). Yesterday we had a guy come to our door and solicit for home remodeling projects. Perfect timing as we are looking for a company to replace our storm door since the hinges broke and we can’t use the front door. This gentleman spoke with my husband for a few minutes then said he would have his sales manager at our home for a free estimate by 7:30 pm and requested that both homeowners be present. Sales manager arrived at 7:30 pm and went through the design of door replacement on his tablet.. LIMITED CHARACHTERS ALLOWED SO I CUT OUT PART OF INTERACTION WITH THUS COMPANYThey are super pushy and over priced! He quoted us at $25,000 and with discounts down to $21,000. The more my husband pushed back and said we need time to research and look at finances the pushier he got. He started entering numbers on a calculator and dropping the price. My husband kept repeating himself and asked for a few days to research and review the project. Again the price came down. In the mean time you could see this guys face changing and the whole mood. I was getting uncomfortable and wasn’t sure how to get him to leave. My husband is a Sales Manager himself in a whole different field of work so I was allowing him to take the lead and handle this guy. On a separate sheet of paper this sales guy wrote down a number, his bottom dollar to sign a contract right now. That number was now $16,000(ish). They also stress that this is an Amish made product, which we love the idea of because we’ve purchased in the past many great furniture pieces made by the Amish. My husband once again stated we need time to do research on your product, your company, and our finances. He then stated. ”what research on our company and product do you need? I just showed you everything (pointing at his binder). And hubby told him at this dollar amount we don’t take this lightly and like to think about these things and review our finances. The salesman had the audacity to say “Well, I think in your line of sales work (to hubby), you know what you have coming in income wise and this is a really nice house so I’m sure you have the funds”!!!!He also grabbed that other sheet of paper where he wrote the offer, (kind of crumpled it), of $16,000 and said that this offer will no longer stand and he can’t make promises that if we contact him he can do anything for us to get price down. Offer only stands right now.Sales guy proceeds to start packing up his stuff while bright red faced and pouting (literally I thought he was going to cry). My husband asked him for his contact number, so we can reach out in a few days and let him know what we decide to do if we want to move forward. The sales guy says “well you could call this main number (points at flyer). And then proceeds to write down his number, and says but I really don’t feel comfortable giving you my phone number if you are not going to sign contract now”. (Angry : irritated tone now). My husband then says “ well thank you man for your time and we appreciate you coming out and providing us with an estimate.” (Still trying to be polite)The sales guy says nothing, grabs his bags. I told my hubby to get the door for him “he says no I’m good, I go out the garage door right?” Hubby jokingly says “yeah, you know because the front door is broke” and hubby chuckles.Sales guy has nothing to say, no good bye, no thank you, no hand shake, nothing!!Lost our business before we even signed a contractI started googling the door product and saw lots of info which I’m sharing with you regarding the door brand itself. Not technically Amish made, more Amish inspired. My next google search was of the company itself, do your homework folks!!I’m sure the company will reply with their autogenerated response that they use on everyone’s negative review.

Extremely overpriced and aggressive sales people that come to your house and won't leave. Their work is terrible as well acording to all of my neighbors. If you want a $5,000 fence done for $23,000 this is the company to call. I've told them multiple times to never contact me or come on my property again, yet the still do. Never work with this company!

The team that came to side the house was very professional on time every day. It took 3 days to do my house. They worked all day and cleaned up every evening. Never left a mess for the next day. Forman answered all our questions and listened to what we wanted done. I would definitely use them again. My house is beautiful. I love what they did Great team.

I had a bad experience, replacing a deck with Midtown and would not suggest using them.I should preface this review with the fact that the deck itself is really quite nice but the issues, which I will detail, preclude me from suggesting anyone contract with them.First the tear out. The deck that I was replacing was left in my front yard until the job was complete. This allowed Midtown to save money by hauling out the unused building materials and old decking in one trip. This would be barely acceptable from a cheaper company, but from a company that admitted to being one of the more expensive options, this is unacceptable.Once the deck was completed there was no hand off at all. The foreman of the crew that installed the new deck told me they were done, had me fill out a survey and left. When I reviewed the deck I found that my new deck was 2 inches lower than the old. This means that the doorway is now a tripping hazard. I contacted Midtown and the response that I was given was that a permit may have required the deck be lower than the entry. Chris was going to contact me once he figured out what happened. He never did.Now I have a deck that I stumble over and a firm belief that Midtown representatives will at least ignore customers whom they have already charged or at worst lie to avoid an issue created by their installers and designers.Service: Deck replacement

Changing to 1 star as this company does not know how to promptly respond to requests as our deck is warped and needs to be warrantied.-Over priced-Pushy sales people-Slow to complete project-Does not fix issues with their products/work4/5 year update. The "premium, better than competitor" (what I was told) decking is discoloring, cracking, lifting up.

I was not sure if I was going to write this review but after working with other companies and having such a better experience I feel like it was worth it.We had someone knock on our door giving out marketing material and mentioned that their quotes are good for a year. That peaked my interest as we need a new roof soon. I told this to the door knocker and said that we are not getting work right now because we are doing other work right now but in 6 months definitely. So then sales person/project manager comes over - the measurement for the quote took all of 5 mins which was concerning because they said it would be an hour. He goes through the whole pitch and gives the quote, then inevitably we get the quote for booking today. This was $20k worth of work and we had mentioned we would need time to think. This sales person would not accept that we are not booking today, we need some time to think and talk and had already mentioned that it would be 6 months. This man then suddenly switched into borderline aggressive. He gave a remark of well I guess I am never hearing from you and stormed out, me and my wife were both quite shocked. The thing is they probably would have got business from us. because we need a new deck, bathroom and roof. We definitely will not be calling them now. We also told our family the story because they had their door knocked from a sales person and had planned to call them because they need a deck and bathroom (much bigger house as well!).1 rude sales person has easily lost you over $100k worth of work between us and our family.
