We originally came in to just look around but then we went into the room with the babies!!! I just had to have a Quaker after I seen them the staff is so sweet and helpful!!! My son is high function autistic and they made him comfortable and showed him how to properly handle our Luna. We go see her several times a week and love on her. They make sure we get tons of one on one time with her and answer any questions we have. We can’t wait until she is ready to come home. If you are interested in getting a beautiful bird I would highly recommend coming here for everything you need

Found a great place to buy birds and supplies! The staff were wonderful in helping introduce my 3-year-old son to pet birds. They were kind and patient, making it a memorable and positive experience for us. Highly recommended for both bird enthusiasts and families!

We got the sweetest little budgie from them recently. I love all of their unique little toys and huge selection of all things birds. I *think* Paige is the name of the person we've been helped by both times we've been there but she is super nice, patient, and knowledgeable. We will definitely continue to shop there

New bird owner here! I was looking for a certain thing to spear food through, and they had it. We grabbed some other things, too, like more perches and toys. We also got some stuff to make our on toys, a bath, and a waterer.I also asked for some advice from one of the employees to help us bond wealth our bird more. The employee was incredibly helpful and nice and didn't make me feel bad for asking a question. I would absolutely love to come back here when I have more time to look around!

Bird heaven on earth 😆I love my bird!! She is sweet and hand fed so she's super friendly and gentle and not afraid. She seems to prefer us over he cage. She is warm,curious a professional cuddler.Before I found her I visited varieties a couple times,I loves that we get to go in the room and get an up close and personal introduction to the different ,beautiful and fascinating types of birds there.The staff is attentive, kind, knowledgeable and you can tell they love birds.I will go back for a male now that I've learned to spot the differences,and I really appreciate all they do!!

You can trust your visit will go well here. All of your senses will be filled. The store is Set up well, well stocked, pleasant, clean. The birds are beautiful, the baby birds are amazing. Everyone of the stag pay attention to the people in the store and check in with you. No one walks by without at least a simple “You ok?” Prices are absolutely fair and you can find the best care in nutrition and perches mental health toys for stimulation for your Birdy Kids!Did i say that all questions are answered with attention and patience. Wow! did someone pay me for this review ?! No! This is sincere! I don’t how they have preserved this Business Value but I hope they stay committed to keep this as an Important Part of who they are when they open the doors each day.Seriously, Thank You Varietees!

If you've a bird, or love feeding wild ones, go to Varietees. The only place I will buy food, treats, habitats, etc. We purchased our habitat (and tons of toys!) for Sadie the Great Macaw and are very pleased.

We are in process of adopting a baby ringneck from them and they have been wonderful and helpful and openly providing answers to all of your bird questions!! Would recommend in the highest manner!! They have tons of goodies for the birdies and fantastic cages!!

We've been to Varietees several times for our birds. We spoke with Tracy last Saturday while we were in and she was so kind to us. We were delighted that she took the time to talk with us about our birds and then tell us about her birds. We've also been assisted by her daughters and other staff who have also been very kind to us. We love this store, this is how you get return customers and referrals.

Varieties Bird Shop is hands down the best bird shop, breeder, groomer, boarder, bird experience in the St. Louis area. I have been visiting them for 11 years and recommend them to anyone who will listen.They are first and foremost, very knowledgeable. They are kind, polite, and always have the best interest of their and other people's birds at their core. They hand raise beautiful loving birds. They sell absolutely everything you could need for your birds and plenty of wild bird items as well. They have a beautiful nursery and large open air play are for their personal and available birds.The staff and owners are heads above "pet store" staff. They have no problem telling people if a bird they have chosen is not a good fit for their home. They carefully vette those who purchase birds from them, and do their best to never forget a bird and owner. My yellow sided green cheek conure was hatched there March 23rd 2008. I chose her before she was weaned. I was able to visit her and bond with her as often as I wanted as she grew. They remember her and me to this day and always have a smile for us.As a side note, they have the best prices in town as well. They have hand made toys, and even an area to make your own bird toys. Even if you don't own a bird, they are worth visiting to spend time with the birds, the staff, and even other visitors and their pet birds.

To Whom it May Concern:I found this shop a couple weeks ago. I Seen this bird, who is basically stuck to the bottom of the cage due to prior injury. Yesterday, I decided to visit Maggie, a bird who is considered hateful by the staff. All I wanted to do was give a sad hopless bird some love. There was a short grey hair thin lady, who was extremely rude and snide to me and my husband, Which costed your company future sales.The one thing I noticed with the birds, They are not hand raised/feed. And they are not socialized like advertisements. If they were they would be more socialized than they are. The birds are dirty and have poop all in their feathers like they never get baths. It is just sad, and the owner should be ashamed.

I went here about four years ago bought a little green baby budgie as a companion to our first budgie who was a lone bird up until then. It is a great place to get birds, toys, food, whatever you could possibly need for a bird, pet or wild.Sadly, my first (blue) budgie died last weekend. Now the second one is very lonely and depressed. She enjoys spending time with me, but these birds need another of their kind around to truly be happy.So, I suspect I'll be coming back to Varietees very soon to get her a new friend. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else for one!

When I first moved to STL, I was nervous that I would not have a trustworthy spot for my green cheek conure's needs. I'm so thankful to have found Varietees! My bird, Scrump, really enjoys going and I can tell in her body language that she's happy when I bring her to the store. We've done everything from grooming to boarding and I honestly cannot say enough about our experience with the whole WONDERFUL staff! As soon as we walk in, she's greeted by name, and even, her favorite movie is often played when she boards (Lilo & Stitch...hence her namesake). She's well taken care of and I never ever have to worry about her when I'm out of town. Second, her grooming sessions are always, fast, efficient, and pretty stress free. And not to go on and on, but the store has EVERYTHING! I really don't need to say anything more than, Scrump and I love Varietees!!!

We always board our Macaw at Varietees. They are very attentive to his needs. He is starting to get arthritis so they made sure to have the appropriate size perches in his cage, as well as his toys from home and feed him exactly as we do at home. The cages are cleaned daily and they also do wings, beaks and claws. They also have a wide array of birds for sale. I highly recommend them for boarding, food or the purchase of a bird.

We adopted our green cheek conure here 10 years ago. She is an amazing bird - very loving and full of personality. They always take such good care of her when I board her here. They also sell everything she could need, and staff is always kind! Highly recommend.

This is an awesome shop.I have never seen anything like it. They have everything you need for birds no matter the size. They have a good variety of birds & parrots. I wish it was closer to me. If we get another CAG it will be from here.
