Doc Shelby and the staff have been so friendly and helpful with the Peaky Blinders litter♥10 week old little Ada had a tiny umbilical hernia and had it repaired TODAY- we arrived at 8 a.m. Ada was all better and awake and we were able to "FETCH" our little gal at 230 p.m.THANKS EVERYONE!

I took my cat in there for struggling to breathe. I was afraid he had aspirated. They spoke to me about the option of X-rays and blood work before the vet had looked at my cat. After listening to his chest and look over his face the vet came to the conclusion it was most likely an upper respiratory infection. I was given antibiotics and a dewormer (he did have worms). By the time another 24 hrs had gone by I knew something more was wrong. In less than 48 hours I had taken him to another vet. Where he had to be euthanized. My cat although almost a year old hadn’t grown and was the size of a 4 month old kitten. The unionville vet did one X-ray and saw that his organs to had not grown right. His lungs were collapsed and his chest cavity filled with fluids. There was no way he could continue to sustain a descent life. And I had to make the choice to put my best friend out of his misery. I watched gasp for air for almost two days. I watched him starve as his esophagus was being crushed and he couldn’t eat. I watched him suffer because these guys didn’t bother to care. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. After about a week and a half I went back to ask that my money be returned as if brought my cat there for help and they did no such thing. Even though the vet convinced me he just had a damn cold I was told it was not there fault he suffered and died and refused to return my money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!

This place will rip you off, they will charge you double to reschedule appointments and call it a cancellation fee. They are not flexible in any way, all around terrible, Young's in chillicothe is much better, it may cost more but it's better service you get what you pay for. This place is terrible and crooked, I won't doing appointments for anything with them, I would not recommend taking your fur babies to this place

Our little Cocoa got herself into trouble by swallowing a piece of plastic that got lodged in her GI tract which caused an infection and she was very very ill. Dr. Shelby took my call at 11:00PM and walked me through things I could do to give Cocoa some comfort until she could see her that morning first thing. I brought Cocoa in and they did bloodwork and x-rays and found the bowel obstruction. They managed to get it to pass and got her in and out in the same day. It took a little time for recovery but Cocoa is back to being her happy bouncy self and I am so very thankful for Dr. Shelby and her staff of caring ladies. Bless you all!

Very crooked and gready, I'm not sure why they kept the name affordable when the new vet took over, they price of everything jumped up dramatically and keeping deposits on rescheduled appointments without credit seems very dishonest and crooked.

DON'T GO HERE. Multiple people have brought their pets here and they have came back a bloody mess. Not only that, but after being spayed they are clearly sick and shaking and in horrible shape. They sent home a golden that was whimpering in pain and internally bleeding a couple days ago after being spayed. The owner made a Facebook post and multiple people commented saying they had the same thing happen to them. DO NOT GO HERE.

This place changed hands and it's not for the better. The prices and fees went way up. With the previous owner it actually was an affordable veterinarian to go to. The veterinarian is very very nice but The girl/girls who runs the counter has the attitude that you're an inconvenience and an irritation to her. But my dog is always treated really well there and I Would have given more stars if not for the customer service up front.

LOVE this place! When we would go there, our dog would jump out and go straight to the back to see the doctor. Was a long time ago and our dog has passed now but they are still great and very friendly. Affordable, quality vet care!

Idk about their vet services, but the staff alone is amazing. Our dogs have run away a lot here lately, and they take very good care of them until we can come pick them up. Shout out to Kayla for your amazing people skills and professionalism!

Some of the best prices around. The wait in the lobby needs work. There were elderly people standing long periods of time waiting for help. I'm younger so no big deal, but I know the elderly people were uncomfortable.

My fiance who has been there with me multiple times took our very sick dog in to be euthanized, he was suffering. They turned him away saying he couldn't do it, because my name was on the chart not his. They didn't call me or anything just turned away a suffering animal.

Called on Sunday for an emergency situation. The veterinarian/owner answered the phone very unprofessionally and explained that she normally doesn’t answer the phone on Sundays so she was caught off-guard. After asking if she sees pets in emergency situations on Sundays she said yes. I explained to her that my dog had a seizure minutesprior to calling her and needed to bring her in to be seen. I was told by this “veterinarian” that she usually gives dogs an “oops” seizure before seeing them and that seizures aren’t uncommon in older dogs. An oops seizure?!?! Much appreciated “doc” for your over the phone “oops” prognosis, later that day my dog died. I’d give ZERO stars to this “oops” vet if I could.

I was not impressed, yes, they took my pet in emergency, but do not think the amount of care equaled the cost. Not very affordable. When it was under different management we had gotten excellent care for affordable cost. Very disappointed.

I went in to get some medicine for my 5 month old black lab. Called to make an appointment prior to going in. When I walked in, the lady at the counter was extremely rude and asked me to weigh my own dog. She asked me what I was there for, and I responded "to get my dog seen to get some meds". She said that the doc wasn't there and my dog couldn't be seen. I just needed some flea and tick meds, I asked if there was someone else that could look at my pup. She said no and gave me some pills to give my dog. I said thanks, paid, and left. The customer service was not there and I will not be returning. After seeing what happened to other peoples animals from this vet, it is scary that they are still in business. Would not recommend coming here.

My daughter had her 13 month old Golden Retriever spayed here on 11-17-2020. Upon walking in the door she was instructed by staff to weigh her own dog, without aid to assure a proper weight was obtained (many medications are given based upon weight). When she informed them the weight couldn’t be right because her last weight less than a month ago was 10lbs heavier they paid no attention and told her to go put the dog in cage. She was told to pick the dog up by 4pm, upon arrival she was told to go in the back and find her own dog and was horrified to see her dogs hind and abd area covered in blood and the dog barely awake, the response from staff was “she was a bleeder”. She carried her dog covered in blood after leaving without any post care instructions, no pain medications, nothing other than being told “take her stitches out in 10 days”. Within the hour the dog was taken to another vet for evaluation and had to undergo an emergency surgery for internal bleeding that was described by the emergency vet as totally avoidable, animal cruelty and negligence (the vet has filed an official complaint as have we). I believe other reviews similar to this have been taken off this website altering the overall care that has been given to others so I don’t expect this review to stay in place (we shall see). I hope this review will be seen so others can avoid the same experience... if you love or care for your animal in the very least then please avoid this mans version of “affordable care”!

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I got my cat spayed yesterday and she came home a bloody mess. They didn't even try to clean her up. She had poop on her bottom that took me a while to clean up. Her entire underside was bloody (more so than it should have been), her back and sides were matted with blood. No pain medication was sent home for her. She is miserable and next time I'll pay the extra money to have real professional's do the job. This place is cheap but definitely borders on the line of animal cruelty. Never again.

Recently moved to the area and called to schedule an appointment for my dogs annual exam. When we arrived we were told "Ok, well Doc is running late and will be here at 8:30".No call to let us know or apology. When I asked why we weren't called beforehand they rudely said "we didn't find out until we were leaving last night". Apparently they think it is acceptable to not bother calling a client that has an appointment and making then sit around. Several others started walking in the clinic, so I'm sure we would have waited well past our time.No apology or offer to reschedule. I wouldn't trust my animal's health and well-being to a clinic that can't manage basic business practices or politeness.

our old gal (dog) had been coughing, I was afraid she was having heart problems. Doc examined her and had a solution in just a few minutes. Today she is bouncing around and HEALTHY... she had an bronchitis... who could have known? Only Doc... just some antibiotics and she is well in just 24 hours. He knows his stuff and I have been using him for many years. I have multiple dogs so AFFORDABLE is a key word. He does not do any unnecessary procedures which not only saves money but also is better for the animals. He once even save a goat kid of mine with a badly mangled jaw, she healed perfectly.
