I can't say enough about this place! The hospitality is outstanding here! We rented a boat here for the second year and we also brought our own boat along due to the pontoon only allowing 10. Shortly after taking off onto the water our boat had issues. We thought our day was ruined and the group on the pontoon would have to go without us, but they allowed us to ride along with our group and told us to enjoy the day! We need more people like this. The prices are also unbeatable!

One of the best vacations we've had has been at this Resort. Affordability, cleanliness, amenities, friendliness. I could go on but you get the idea. That's kind of place to go for stress relief and finding your soul. Lee and Jen took care of a lot of things that needed to be taken care of like brand new flooring for the boat, fishing, and swimming docks were replaced. The road from the street down to this Resort has brand new asphalt, and cement Road is brand new for launching boats. One of my favorite things that they replaced was the ladder to go in and out of the water from the swimming dock. The old ladder was so terrible to try to climb up on to the dock that I probably would have been able to get out of the water. We're leaving today and feeling refreshed and stress-free.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this resort!1) They are pet friendly which is amazing because we love to bring our 74lb furry child with us when we travel!2) They have a variety of different cabin styles. For us, we just need one bed and a place to fish which cabin #12 was perfect for us!3) The family that owns this resort is so incredibly friendly and was very accommodating as we arrived after they closed and was still able to show us how to get to our cottage!If you're looking for a quiet getaway would highly recommend!

We stayed here for the first time over Memorial Day weekend. The owners are wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and you can tell they truly want their guests to have a good time. These are not fancy new condos. They are vintage lakeside cabins that are very clean and well taken care of and you can tell the owners are working their butts off to make improvements, but I will take clean, comfortable and affordable over shiny and expensive any day.The crappie fishing off the fishing dock was excellent. The owners are super friendly and flexible. My family loved the indoor pool, hot tub and small game room. The swimming area was nice but it was a busy boating weekend so we chose to swim off one of the swim platforms towards the back of the cove where the water was nice and calm. They are just a few minute drive to Franky & Louie's (our favorite lakeside beach bar & grill) and so close by water that you can listen to the live music from a distance at night from your cabin. I have stayed at little resorts all over the lake and rarely write reviews. I only do so when something really stands out about a place and the owners definitely make this a stand-out place.

We love coming down to Dogwood! It's become a home away from home for my friends and family doesn't matter spring summer or fall, i love it! We love the views and watching all the nice boats and people on JetSkis while using the covered fishing dock. It has power outlets and lights for night time, We spend most of our time out there. The management at the resort is friendly and present. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi and a nice new swim dock. I highly recommend this for your next lake vacation!

We went here for our 1st wedding anniversary and had a nice quiet weekend. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They even brought us a cake for our anniversary. The cottage was clean and warm. Beautiful sunsets, extremely quiet off season. They are puppy friendly too. Couldn't be happier with our stay. A+

Cabins were clean with good sheets pillows etc. Cabin is dated and we didn't know it wasn't a stand alone cabin but was connected to one on the other side. The people in the connecting cabinet were horrible noisy the first night so got no sleep. The people that came after them weren't as noisy but banged the doors constantly. Ours wouldn't be good for older people as the ground was very uneven going into our cabin and there is about a 5 inch piece of rebar sticking up in the ground that is hard to see and would be east to trip over if you didn't know it was there. Owners were nice.

The owners were freaking amazing great hosts great people all together hard workers and anything you need they were on it like Bluebonnet the cabins were freaking amazing well clean. With any cookware you may need and if you need it they would get it for you and the price $$ was just perfect for everything thats included and the area beautifully well-kept well-maintained gorgeous views gorgeous. We spent the wife's birthday and some here it was amazing!

My family rented several cabins for a weekend family gathering. The quiet and right on the lake seclusion was exactly the setting we needed to. The staff were very warm and friendly and took care of each request for our large group. There is a local grocery store an a dollar general just a few miles away and a convenience store/gas station a few minutes the other way. We did not do any boating, but there were several docks and berths available along with a swimming area in the lake. The indoor pool wasn't open yet, but our purpose was to visit with family and we enjoyed walking around the lake, grilling out, and having a fire to gather around. Our dogs were as welcome as we were and seemed to enjoy the lake as much as we did. The beds were comfortable and the showers/water in the cabins wash very hot. Each cabin has a small kitchen area stocked with some basic dishes, pots and pans. We found anything else we needed at the nearby Dollar General. We are already planning a return trip later in the year with others.

Nice place to stay! We came here for our honeymoon! Love that’s it right on the lake and they have many places you can go relax and look at the water. Only down sides are the bathrooms are so small. The toilet is in such a small space both my elbows touch the walls on either side of me while I’m sitting on it. And the location, it’s in a beautiful spot but you have to drive quite a bit to find a place to eat or shop.

Our summer vacation was made even more special due to the attention given by the owners Lee and Jenny. They were great and put so much attention into ensuring that your visit is special. The location is perfect it plants you right in the middle of the lake so you have access to great views great fishing or just great boating whichever your looking for. I cant wait to go back again.

This place is great. The owners will help you out and try to make your stay enjoyable, they bend over backwards to make sure you have a good time. Keep in mind these are cabins it is not the Ritz Carlton . I have stayed here three times and will definitely be back .

This was our second year coming to Dogwood Acres, and we will be back each year.Cabins clean, hospitality the best, grounds pretty, pool and hot tub nice, game room is a plus! Fishing doc, but ask and they'll tell you where to find the catfish and bass! Boat rentals. The owners were so awesome and friendly. You can borrow movies at the front office. Pet friendly! This is a real mom and pop place, and my family will be back year after year!

Lovely view and most of the creature comforts one expects at a small resort. The cotteges are clean and have good appliances. However, there is room for improvement. The bedrooms do not have fans or a/c vents, so sleeping is not very comfortable. We had to go buy our own fans. The mattresses are not firm at all. The walking paths and stairs are scarily in need of repair in several places. Cosmetically, the cottages could really use an update. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay, but don't expect any kind of luxury.

Quaint, quiet and decent place to stay. The cabins are a bit older and the beds/furniture is a bit outdated, but it felt like a lakehouse. We rented a pontoon boat which was awesome... $300 for a full day. The pool, hot tub and fishing dock are a plus. The worst part was an ant infestation in the kitchen. Don't leave any food out or even in the cabinets or it'll have ants on it. Big wolf spider found in the bathroom as well. Other than that, good times to be had.

It was a really good experience we enjoyed seeing the lake and there was a lot of wildlife. it is a really good vacation getaway for have a lake view so family and pets can enjoy. There awas always something to do in the area. Everyone is so kind, Jenny was very helpful and generous. I would really recommend this place for anyone.
