I highly recommend Strafford Veterinary Clinic! Their front desk staff is super helpful and friendly. The Vet Techs are knowledgeable and informative. I love working with Whitney!! Dr Mallard has a lifetime of knowledge and experience. He has been amazing to work with! The office manager, Joe is wonderful and has a vast amount of knowledge and he is always willing to help with questions.

The staff has been nothing but amazing every time I’ve come in. My puppy contracted parvo and when I couldn’t afford for him to be hospitalized, they got me completely set up for at home treatment. Anne answered just about every call and every single question I had and was so patient during my meltdown of the diagnosis and called to check in every so often. I recommend this vet to everyone who asks for a recommendation of vet care.

I was very impressed with this clinic and staff. I am so incredibly thankful that I brought my dog here. Dr Jen was amazing and was so helpful!

The one star is for Dr Jen she's an amazing doctor that's just working at a facility that does not fit her standard the receptionist should tell them what they're supposed to be scheduled for I had my dog scheduled for a urine test and a blood test and they did the blood test and didn't know anything about the urine test I've been having issues with my dog skin problems and UTIs we explained that we've had a bad taste in our mouth from other vets Dr Jen was amazing the first two times we came she got down and met my dogs did a really great job well then my dogs got sick due to a medication mix up and she was out sick so they had to see another doctor well unfortunately the other doctor is nothing like her and didn't even do hardly anything for my girl dog whenever she has the same sickness as my boy dog that had to be emergency hospitalized not to mention I recommended Strafford vet to a good friend of mine which they took their dog to and they said it was terrible they said that they man handled their dog and everything else and I asked if it was Dr Jen and he said no.. so I just hate that I have to change Vets now because I really like Dr Jen and when we're spending money and all we want is for the best treatment for our animals and to understand the care that we're getting especially whenever it's a chronic illness I think it's okay to ask questions whenever you need to know things about your animals treatment because I look at my dogs just like if they were my children I want to know what's going on I want to understand the sickness and I want to know what I need to do so if I'm WRONG for asking questions and I get treated like a terrible person because of it then I don't need to go back to the clinic.. .the receptionist and everybody else in there besides Dr Jen for being absolutely repulsive I thought that we were the client and that since we were spending good money we should get the best care possible and the best treatment possible but instead got treated like we were wrong for asking questions and for bringing our dog back up there to get rechecked after we almost lost one dog to the same thing so I don't know I just really hate that I even had to write this review because I tried to stick around and continue to go there because I liked the doctor so much but when 1 person in the whole building does a efficient job and the other people don't then it makes it bad for them hopefully she will realize it and maybe move to a better facility and so I asked her to fax our records to another vet which they said they did. Which she made it very clear that she did! whenever we got to the other vet there were no records... It's very very sad that we got treated this way whenever I've spent almost $5,000 with them ...not to mention they are much more overpriced than other vets so you would expect to get the best treatment possible

If I had the option I would give this vet ZERO stars. My husband and I wanted to breed our pugs to keep their lineage going. The process was expensive but we thought was going to be worth it in the end.Long story short the day came for my pug to have her babies. After much research and consideration we believed having a c-section was the best option. We took our baby girl in for her c-section (a VERY common and simple procedure). Next thing we know our beloved dog has passed during the c-section. We had the WORST experience there. The excuse was she had too many puppies while there were never any states of concerns during our MANY check ups. Only five puppies while other pugs (first litter) have had more than that and they were fine. Not only did I lose my baby girl they made sure to CHARGE for every little thing they did. Don’t forget to charge me to the one round of CPR that clearly didn’t work. I understand that I still have to pay for the c-section but are you actually serious right now?! And they made sure to bring me the bill when my husband left the room. Also if you want to cremate your dog there know they are up charging you as well. We unfortunately had to put the daddy down a few months later due to health issues. We clearly used another vet who uses the SAME cremation company as Strafford vet. Yet somehow the cremation of the smaller pug that Strafford vet killed cost WAY more than the cremation of the daddy pug.Rewind to when the puppies were still small and vulnerable one of our girl puppies was having difficulty breathing and would wake up slinging her head and foaming from her mouth. We took her in twice to Strafford vet. The owner (Dr. Mallard) saw our puppies and he was absolutely AWFUL. He acted annoyed that we’re there and said they were fine and we needed to know the expectations of pugs. While my pug puppy literally stops breathing and foams out of her mouth. THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!!We took her to Fair Grove vet (who by the way I 100% recommend) and they did an X-ray and luckily saved my baby girl! The only person I would give a good review to is Whitney (the reproductive tech). She went above and beyond and helped us so much trying to raise our 5 little pugs. We never had raised puppies before and thanks to her our babies are all still alive.

I was extremely impressed with the staff, Doctors and facility! Very professional with quality care!I was just going to get my dog spade but decided while she was asleep to get her shots, rabies, heart worm test and microchip. Saved me $$ as well as less stress on my dog! I am so happy I tried Strafford Veterinary Clinic!

Great place to take your pet. This was our first time bringing our Bull mastiff Liberty here and will not take her anywhere else but here. Very caring, every one of the people we came in contact from were really nice. Great communication! Will be taking all of our pups to this place! Highly recommend!

Overall I feel that the staff genuinely care about our pets. I have been to several vets in the area and Strafford Veterinary Clinic is second to none. It shouldn’t be so hard to find caring veterinarians and wonderful support staff. I’m so glad I gave Strafford a try. My search is over. Give them a try. You won’t be sorry that you did.

My dog was attacked by a pitbull I came here on an emergency basis. They did a good job of getting him in immediately and stitching him back up. Thank you and thank you to Dr. Mallard for the follow-up evaluation, fine-tuning Max's treatment plan and patiently answering all of my never ending questions. You are an amazing physician.

Very unwilling to actually help even though I’ve brought my cats to them multiple times. I’m in between paychecks right now for a few days and my cat needs to see a vet. They didn’t even ask me what was going on with him. Just “sorry can’t help you” when I asked if they offer payment options or are willing to work with people. I will not taking any of my animals here ever again. Found a vet that was willing to help if I had been there prior, we’re schedule there ASAP but the receptionist actually took the time to ask me what was going on with my cat and talk to the vet to see what I could do to keep him comfortable and hopefully help him feel better in the meantime.

My daughter called the clinic about her sick cat. She's been to this place with her cat several times. They wouldn't even talk to her unless she could pay upfront. They didn't ask about the cat at all, just , we can't help unless you can pay now.I understand the business side, but what happened to the good vets that are there to help the sick animals? And not just about how much can I charge these people, so I can pay for the new buildings and pocket a bunch of money left over

I transferred my pets’ care over to Strafford Vet Clinic after my previous vet retired. The staff and vets at the Strafford clinic were friendly but the visits felt horribly rushed and it felt like each of my pets were briefly looked at for a total of a few minutes and I was sent on my way. I got used to my previous vet being so comprehensive and taking extra time to get to know each of my pets and this clinic felt so underwhelming. They’re affordable at least and were able to get me in within a timely manner.

What happened to honest Veterinarians?!?!I’ve taken my dog here a few times because of convenience. Needless to say, I won’t be bringing her back and will drive the extra mile for someone that’s not just going to nickel and dime me.I brought her this time because of her eyes being red and droopy. (Assuming it was conjunctivitis.)Upon examination Dr. Handley said both of the whites of her eyes were red and they appeared swollen. She went ahead and did a $35 Tear Test which wasn’t even necessary, considering my dog had her normal discharge from her eyes that she always has right there on my dogs face.Dr. Handley also did a $34 Fluorescein Stain Test to check both eyes to see if they’d been scratched?!? How common would it be for a pregnant dog that is due any day to have scratched BOTH eyes for them to look like that?!Those 2 tests alone cost more then the “examination” AND the eye ointment for her conjunctivitis.I was NOT informed that those 2 little, couple minute tests were going to cost that much money or I would have denied them!I feel like an honest vet could tell right when they examine any dogs eyes without having to do unnecessary tests, if a dog has conjunctivitis!

I came in just because my dog had allergies. They claim he did but said he also hurt his neck by sneezing. They said his teeth is a major problem and wanted me to come in next day to get his teeth looked at at 7am. And be done at about 11am They said.I dropped my dog at 7am and they held him til 2pm. They didn't inform me at 11am they didn't even start looking at him yet. I had to call them to find out. They put him under and then claimed they felt something on his neck and said he had cancer. They said they don't recommend dental work anymore but to run scans to find the cancer. The doctor called me and said they can't see it with the equipment they have at the vet that I will have to go somewhere else. The doctor said he will see show me the pictures what they do see when I come in. I came in which they told me to come in at 3pm. I get there and they said the doctor left already and the nurse went over it which is Unprofessional and I was lied to saying they would have the doctor go over it and I will know if it's cancer or not. They called it swelling which again because of his allergies. So off I go finally have my dog after they didn't even look at him for over 5 hours.I then get a call the very next day saying they have his blood work and I can come in for the dental work. I told them I was told by them to wait on that because of his neck in pain. They said oh yeah I see that now.In summary they don't care about your pet. Seeing how bad they handled everything and was already trying to get more money out of me using my emotions and telling me cancer and scaring me to run all these scans that will not even show on their equipmentI do not recommend this place at all I don't trust them. They got me for over 1k just for nothing. I even had to use my own benadryl for the medicine and they still charged me that outrages price. And then they wanted to charge another 1k just to pull a tooth

I would not recommend the clinic for any type of suspected exposure to toxins/poison. Emergency veterinarians are more skilled at quickly acting to deliver immediate care, including activated charcoal, IVs, and anti-seizure medication to hopefully save the animal.

By far the most caring and knowledgeable veterinarian clinic within 200 mile radius. They bent over backwards to treat a rare disease on our dog. Their resources are far superior and it’s about doing what’s best for the animal in the most cost effective manner. I will continue to traveling the extra mile for their extraordinary care.

This is an AMAZING place. We were new clients and our dog was hurt. We were going on vacation and were leaving in a couple days and was worried about our pup. Kim was INCREDIBLE and got him in that same day. My wife was so impressed with not only the facility but the FANTASTIC staff that she set up another appointment for future vaccinations. Thank you for your help and we will not only be back but recommend your great team there.

I have had to make 2 different weekend emergency visits and even though it's an hour and a half away they were very amazing and went above and beyond to save my precious babies. Even after several local clinics refused service because we wasn't current clients they had no issues getting us in. Once during Saturday hours and once after hours. One of the vets himself called me twice about my concerns and finally had me come in. I will forever be grateful for their compassion to the animals and not just their "job".

The staff at Strafford Vet took my Corgi in after his vet could not fit him in. It was an emergency. They lived on my guy as he stayed in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights. They were willing to help in anyway possible and I even got to see him while he was in their care. Would recommend to everyone!

A bit costly but worth it. Had a cat with a kidney/bladder issue. He was there for three days 4 years ago. You could tell they care a lot for the animals that are brought to them.
