I hate giving this piece of history a bad review. But I have attempted to shop there many times over this past year during posted hours. You never know if they're actually going to be open or not. It's not a very convenient convenience store. One thing they have going for them is they have a little bit of everything. They are like the old-time General Store. But the last couple of times I did get to go in it didn't look like they had anyone cleaning or restocking the shelves. There was a little bit of product/merchandise laying everywhere even on the floor. Ot just appeared unkept and dusty. I worked retail at malls I'm used to planograms and closing cleaning routines. That picture perfect atmosphere I guess. I stopped trying to stop in there and even if I see they are open and just drive the extra distance the rest of the way to town. I used to really enjoy the nostalgia of this store and its convenient location so close by.

It is such a shame that the owners don't make the best of this country store. I know I would most certainly buy from them instead of going all the way to Ava to get my basics and even dog & animal feed. Only if they would take time to clean it up and carry basic items. They could even put in a coffee and deli where one could get soups and sandwiches. I don't understand why they dont ... they are the only place in this whole area besides the Mom & Pop that sales liquor...

Had lots of stuff, a little for everyone. But the soda was old and had no fizz, flat and gross and couldn't get and ice cream sandwich because of ice build-up wouldn't allow door to open, which tells me the ice cream was probably old also so it didn't matter that I couldn't get to it. The place was really cluttered and dirty. Will not be stopping here again unless they clean it up and update the merchandise

Great place to get farm supplies and feed. They have a lot of different items from clothes to hardware to livestock feed to pet food and groceries. Great old country store!

The Spurlock family has owned the store for generations & are great friends & neighbors to the entire Squires community. This store is SPECIAL.
