I loved this Menards until today. I went in to get a screw driver and a few flowers. After I had already checked out, a security guard stopped me and accused me of trying to steal the screwdriver. He was incredibly rude and asked where I had put the screwdriver when it was clearly in my hand, where he could see it with the receipt. He did not apologize and just walked away. It's going to be a long time before I go back to any Menards, especially if I'm going to be harassed just for shopping and paying for me items.

It’s really awesome when you’ve been waiting in a line of 6 people watching a different cashier clean the drink coolers and not opening up her register until after the line is even longer. Great fun!Might as well go to Lowe’s at that point, at least they have self checkout.

My husband and I purchased a tool chest/cabinet combo from here and it was a very good deal. The sales associate Miles was an amazing employee. He helped us load it in our truck and he was very polite and friendly. He deserves a raise.

One of the shower panels we purchased was crack and we Paid 387$ for shipping emailed and was told someone would contact us. After two weeks of waiting called the store and got told they wouldn’t ship another one without paying shipping again because it had been over a month

My husband and I were at menards on Eastgate in Springfield mo, on March 23,2024 and were in the lighting department and we were unsure of what we wanted or needed and a young man named Dustin helped us for almost an hour. He help us make sure we got the right bulbs for the fixtures we chose and was very patient and knowledgeable. We purchased 2 fixtures and the bulbs and then went to the light switch department and he showed up there to check on us and again helped us find what we needed. Menards needs to be very proud of him!

My family loves having Menards on the NE side of Springfield! Staff are helpful and they carry a great assortment of quality products at a reasonable price. They also have a fair return policy.

If I could write a review with no stars I would. Your employees sit there in fear as customers visibly struggle to find things. You can tell it doesn't even cross their minds to ask if you need help as if they're there for a social club

Bough a $25 gift card for a friend who loves Menards for her birthday. She tried to use the card and it didn’t work. Went back to the store with the gift card to fix issue. They were unable to fix it. They confirmed that the card had some sort of problem and was unable to be used. They tried to call their corporate office, and they were unable to help. They told the front manager to email someone else. I asked if they could just give me a a new $25 gift card and they keep the one that wasn’t working. Employee said that wasn’t possible. I explained that this was a pretty big inconvenience. I told her we bough the card, gifted the card, the person tried to use it at the store, didn’t work, had to get the card back from the person, drive back to Menards, and it’s still not being resolved. She said “I could get the general manager, but there’s nothing they would be able to do.”Now I am waiting for a supposed email, and hopefully they could help me out. All over a $25 gift card. Not pleased in how this is being handled.

Very nice store, clean, bright, friendly employees. Loved the displays throughout the store and variety of things they have. The key kiosk is cool but a little expensive $2-$3 per key. I believe the "yard" where you pick up lumber outside should have signs. We were picking up wood and we were told to go to the 2nd door, it was ok to locate since it was 9pm and not a lot of people but I think having big clear signs outside just like inside would help. Also, they have some awesome shopping carts where the kids can sit in their own car :)

Amazing customer service. They went out of their way to help me. I am not a contractor or a construction worker, but I can assure you the individuals here are knowledgeable and very much willing to help. I would encourage everyone who is looking for home or appliance needs to make sure to visit this establishment. It is second to none.

The store managers and higher ups love the dictatorship style management, and it shows. They don’t even try to hide it. Ive seen it first hand, these people punish their workers and anyone below them, even department managers, based on their own personal convictions and opinions and biases. Ive never heard so many of the same complaints from ex-employees of this store. Just absurd. This menards store is still great, but its because of the hard workers that keep it running, not the overseers who only see their employees below them as numbers and $$. Genuinely sad. So be kind to the cashiers and department managers, they all work so hard and get nothing but berated and false promises.

We don't have this chain of home improvement store where I live, so we always love to stop by when we're passing through Springfield. The selection is unbeatable and it would take hours to just to browse everything available. The lighting section is easily 4 times as big as Lowes or Home Depot with every design you can imagine. They also have groceries, a great selection of coffee, and snacks/candies you'll have difficulty finding anywhere else. Certain times they also have an automatic mail in rebate of 11% to help you save money.

My father came in and picked up around $1000 worth of supplies today, he has COPD and has an oxygen machine backpack. He got low on his oxygen levels from the physical labor and asked for some help to load up the rest of his lumber order. He was met with excuses on why they couldn't help and refused to get him any help at all.An absolute joke on service, the guys you had loading on 11/22/23 should be ashamed in themselves.You know what's really bad? He then went to Home Depot and he instantly had two workers offer to help him load his merchandise (82 gallon well tank and some other items for a house we are putting in) without him having to ask, they saw his oxygen backpack and offered to help. I don't think I will be spending my money in your store anymore.

security guard stopped me after i paid for my stuff and asked me where i set down a item . it was a current tester that i picked up, decided i did not want to pay for it and it sat it down in another isle . i know that’s wrong to put it in the incorrect spot but i did not shoplift and he knew it but bothered me anyway .

My recently widowed 80 year old mother-in-law bought a Maytag refrigerator here and it was defective, the doors don't seal and the freezer iced up within days.When she called to complain, they told her to wait and see if the problem fixes itself, so she did.On day eight, she finally calls back and says it is still not working and there's also a high pitched whine and they need to pick it up.Their response was, "we can't issue a refund or accept a return after 7 days". This is after they told her to wait.Finally, after an argument on the phone, they said they'll accept a return but only if we bring it to them.I had to rent a Uhaul which was $80 with gas and they wouldn't even help me unload it.This place is trash and will not see my business again.

If you want anything... today, DONT shop the Menards East store! West Menards will probably have what you need.Whomever takes care of inventory at the East store needs more training or help!I wouldn't recommend Menards at all if they only had the one location on the east side.

A lot of stuff is cheaper than Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. My hubby & I have spent about 3.5 hours in the E Chestnut location & still haven't been through the entire store! Some great deals & not quite as great deals... Overall, LOVE THIS STORE!!!

They typically have what I want. I get to choose if I want cheap stuff, or if I want to spend more for higher quality. I have two pet peeves: 1) The rebates should be online. Don’t waste my time with snail mail. 2) I want to see product reviews by other customers. If something is junk, don’t hide that fact from me.

Happened last year too… came in to fill 100lb propane tank, was told at front counter the propane is out, they are NOT filling tanks until they get more propane. After shopping for other needed items approx 40 min later we walk out to our truck and at the propane station some has three 30lb tanks being filled up. I walked up to the Menards rep filling the tanks and told him we were told there was no propane, he just kinda shrugged because he wasn’t part of that conversation. He was polite, but their front door customer service people have lost money for this store. We went to the west side Menards bought another 100lb tank and filled them both up, along with buying more items… sad that the west side has to take up the slack for the Springfield east side Menards. When I told one of the managers on the west side, they said unfortunately this seems to happen a lot. Because they hear it from customers all the time.

We had a great experience buying our shower. Two guys helped us and they were so friendly. I appreciate that we could pick it up and take with us. Went to another, orange colored store, and we could only have the same shower delivered. It was delivered broken twice Thank you for having it in stock.

We came in looking for something specific but didn't find it. I was able to find a few boards for my craft business. Staff was friendly when we couldn't find something. Our cashier was friendly. He was on his way to go outside to help with carts but before he walked away he said have a good night. His name was Blaise.Bonus the bathroom was clean.

Do NOT buy anything that says SPECIAL ORDER! They will charge you a 25% restocking fee if you have to return it for any reason. LOWES and HOME DEPOT has never done that to me. I would give them zero stars if I could. And this after I spent over an hour completing the return process. Outrageous. Will not do business with them again!

I was not impressed with the store. Hard to find a simple tool I needed. But very good selection if things were label better. Also a very good selection of Christmas things lights trees and yard blowups. And they had a very good price on everything. But they didn't give veteran discounts.
