This Springfield store has great staff, a nice selection, and usually even interesting fellow customers to talk to. I always have fun here and usually end up leaving with a lighter wallet because they always have something I need, and they are good people to deal with. See, even my dog is jumping for the joy of new guitar day.

I visited the Guitar Center and did not have the best experience. Upon arrival the place was filthy. The Customer service was decent but not exceptional. The employees did not make me feel welcome, and only checked on me only me a couple of time. They were extremely low on inventory Compared to the other guitar centers. I asked them if they could help me order a guitar online, and they said didn’t offer to help. I asked if there was any discounts and they said I could look online. To conclude this review, I would like to say that I made a special trip driving 100 miles just to go to their center and was absolutely unsatisfied.

I bye all my used gear and new gear from hear. I just got all my guitar setup tools from the guitar center. My jackson rr24 natural I bought from here was set up well. I had no issues with it. The photo I'm posting is all from the guitar center

Full of guitars and musical instruments & accessories. What's not to love? Except the prices of musical instruments in the first place, and that's not all their fault. But it would be cool if they had a free give away and I won. A girl can dream, right?

Called up there today to see if they had a particular item in stock. Was told, yes, we do have it in stock. I left the house within 30 minutes and drove over 20 miles to pick up the item. I walked around in the store looking for them item and couldn't find it. I asked one of the associates where I would locate the item. He stated, 'Yes, it showed we have 2 in stock", by this, I am sure he was the person I spoke with on the phone. He took me over to a room where all the keyboards were and looked on this center island shelf, then said, 'It is supposed to be right here, let me ask my manager where the backstock would be". He goes up to the manager and asks "where else Deoxic 5 be? It showed we had 3 in stock." (not 2 like he stated previously). The manager said that is the only place it would be. So he then tells me they are out of it. Here is an idea....when a customer calls asking if you have something in stock, LOOK don't just rely on what your inventory says. Online I can see if inventory says you have it, no need to make the call. Giving two stars because he did try to find it.

I'm convinced that Guitar Center doesn't care anymore. They're often the only game in town and it shows. Little to no knowledge of the new world of online podcasting or even traditional radio. Literally they don't try to look anything up. They ignore people. Act as if though no customer is important. I found better service at Best Buy and, Sweetwater. While it costs more, it's worth it to be around people who take an invested interest in what your needs are.

This Springfield Missouri Guitar Center location has possibly the worst customer service in Springfield if not the state. If there was a way to give them a negative star rating believe me, I would. The staff in the store have ZERO knowledge of any of the products that they carry. That's if you can find one to even help you. Today I was in the store for the third time trying to purchase equipment for my recording studio without an employee in sight. When I finally tracked one down from the back room he told me he would send someone out to help me. Thirty minutes went by without one single employee on the floor before I finally walked out empty handed. My previous two visits were very similar. The few employees I have seen in the store all look as though they haven't showered in days if not longer, while being dressed in clothes from the bottom of the hamper. Shame on whoever is in charge of this store. In my opinion as a business owner myself, the district manager needs to go ahead and flush the toilet on the current staff and management. I myself, will never attempt to shop there again and highly recommend avoiding this epic staffing failure.

Worst experience ever at Guitar Center. I asked to try an amp and the Customer Service Manager told me to grab it and carry it 25 feet and plug it in anywhere I like. I promptly dismissed that idea and told him to please do it for liability. I loved the amp, and I bought it. The same gentleman did not unplug or help in any way. Mind you, this was a Marshall TSL combo amp that weighs 92 pounds. I received zero help getting it to my car. I had to borrow a hand truck from the front. Then, had to have a complete stranger help me load it into car because I am disabled. What a disgrace.

This Springfield, Missouri location gives Guitar Center a bad name.Unprofessional staff ✅0 customer service ✅Inaccurate website inventory ✅Abhorrent sales practices ✅I make every attempt to purchase musical equipment from my local brick and mortar stores. I try to support the physical locations, because I like to see something before purchasing it, and I also try to spend my tax dollars locally. My initial experience here came after driving from Arkansas to buy a Marshall DSL40CR tube combo amp listed on the Springfield location website, only to find out upon arrival that it was not actually in their store's physical inventory, and they had "no idea where it went." Oh well, I drove the two hours back home.Tonight (2/17/23) I made the trek again to purchase a gorgeous, new, Guitar Center exclusive, Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro V in Satin Iced Tea, advertised specifically on their Springfield Missouri location website for a Presidents Day sale price of $1,949.00. When I arrived, the in-store sale tag price was $2,099.00 ($150.00 higher than it was listed on that location's website). I asked the sales associate David if the price on the guitar was accurate, and matched the prices on the website. He assured me that they did match, but showed no interest in checking. I had to pull up the website on my phone and show the discrepancy before he said "MAYBE we could match the online price". I asked David to bring the Les Paul down off of the wall for me to check the intonation. I swear to God on a stack of Bibles, he handed it to me with a snapped headstock. I don't mean cracked, I mean severed completely off, and shoddily glued back together with paint concealing the broken and chipped wood as if it had never happened. It was presented online, on the price tag, and directly to me as a BRAND NEW guitar. Neither the first sales manager or David even acknowledged it until I pointed it out. They honestly just acted bummed they were gonna lose the sale. I was disgusted. After huddling for a minute, sales manager #1 approached me and said "dude this thing has been on the wall longer than I've worked here. You're like the first person to even ask to take it down." Not "I'm sorry for your trouble" Or "wow, this is embarrassing, let's make it right". I took a lap around the store to count to ten and chill. They sent over David again with a third associate, sales manager #2, who matter of factly said I should just order another one. I tried to explain my frustrations, that this was already the second time this had happened to me in this specific store. He was clearly annoyed, and did not care that I spent another tank of gas, and was prepared to give him every penny in my checking account for the guitar of my dreams, before uncovering a compromised Gibson. What if I hadn't been savvy enough to check the headstock? They could have sent me, or some unsuspecting kid home with that. They either knew about it and covered it up, or never clean and inspect their inventory. Additionally, someone at that store had to have done the repairs, and made the decision to put it back out on the sales floor as if it were a new guitar. I asked him "why didn't the website list it as a damaged guitar?" He literally told me they were unable to update their own inventory on the website, and that a broken/repaired headstock isn't a blemish, and there was nothing he could do. "That's just our policy dude." No empathy, no accountability, nothing.I walked out. I have no plans on returning.I hope someone at Gibson reads this and sees how Guitar Center is handling their beautiful instruments, while simultaneously stepping over their loyal fan base to turn a quick profit.I also hope whoever runs this store reads this review. I have driven 8 hours now to try and give this location my business, and every time I leave feeling like nobody cares. Hopefully your next buyer is treated better than I was.Sad.PSI've attached a photo of my new Les Paul that I drove to Fayetteville, Arkansas and purchased the very next morning.

Fraudulent business practices & rude/unprofessional staff. They listed a specific power amp for sale at this location. The GC used gear website showed one model in the pictures (a Crown "Power Base 3" [aka-the model I actually wanted]) & a different model (a Crown "Power Base 2" [a less powerful model]) in the title. I called to confirm whether the image was correct with an incorrect title or vice versa; I was ASSURED that the image was correct & the title was not. After confirming that I couldn't process a layaway over the phone w/o visiting my local store, I advised "Brittany" that I was on my way to my "local" store (11 miles away from home) to run my card & complete the layaway. Less than 20 minutes later, the listing disappears as i'm halfway to the store. I call back in to inquire, & another rep laughs as she tells me that the amp must have "sold" right after I got off the phone. Yeah right.I file a BBB complaint. 2-3 days later, the listing suddenly re-appears. I decide to take the incompetent salespeople out of the equation & avoid a repeat by just buying the amp on the GC website (paying IN FULL/no layaway). The next day I call in to inquire about what seemed to be an invalid tracking number. They put the "manager" on the line (who ultimately turned out not to be the manager at all), & he says that it won't ship out until the following Monday. Great... It finally arrives at the end of that next week & they somehow dug up (& shipped) the model amp that was actually in the TITLE, after specifically stating that they were selling the amp in the uploaded PICTURES; Totally different faceplate, totally different serial number. In other words, they ran a scam on me, which is a first in all of the MANY years I have been doing business with Guitar Center. At this point it was too late to return the amp at my "local" store as the store was already closed. This forced me to return it the next business day. I filed a complaint at the Guitar Center website, sharing my experience, after which point I received a call from the REAL manager a few days later (I was lied to previously by some random kid at the store who claimed to be the manager [which speaks volumes in regards to the unprofessionalism at this location]). The REAL manager gave what felt like a "forced" apology, then simply offered to give me a discount on a NEW amp. I'm like wow, SERIOUSLY? That's your best attempt at making this right, by attempting to coax me into spending even MORE money at your joke of a Guitar Center location?? Mind you, the amp I was attempting to purchase was an older model, they don't make them like that anymore, I buy older used items specifically for the better build quality (along with the desire to save some cash), & if I had the money/desire to buy a NEW amp, I would have bought one to begin with. I explained that the purchase was just to get me by until i'm able to purchase a system w/ built-in power (i.e. QSC K series, Yamaha DZR series), after which point he quickly ran out of steam & rushed me off the phone. Not that it was the purpose of my complaint, but if I was in his position, I would have at least offered a gift card or something that doesn't force the customer to spend money solely at MY specific store, but he clearly didn't feel like my terrible experience at his store (with his lying/unprofessional employees) warranted that. Whatever. All I can say is if you screw me over once, you offering me a "discount" on my next purchase (at YOUR store location) surely won't encourage me to give you a shot at screwing me over a second time... So much could have been avoided here, yet this store just missed the mark on so many levels & I will never shop at this Guitar Center location again. BOTTOM LINE; If you enjoy bait-&-switch advertising (+having your time/money wasted, as you purchase misrepresented items from dishonest/rude/lying salespeople), then you should be fine here. Otherwise, RUN the other direction. You've been warned.

This location is kinda small. Staff was nice but not as nice as some of the other locations we have been to. Not many tuned guitars and some were kinda dusty. Not bad but not great either.

Not the same store I bought my Les Paul from years ago that is for sure. Poor strings on guitars to demo. Nothing tuned. Staff busy chit chatting amongst themselves. Be sure to check what you buy for fret buzz. A LOT of that in their store.

A year ago, we purchased a 4 cordless microphone set to go with our sound system, and paid extra for a 2 year REPLACEMENT PLAN to go with it. At time of purchase, we were told that "if anything goes wrong with the microphones or the unit, just bring it back to our store and we'll replace it". Now a year after, 2 of the microphones were starting to come apart. We brought them back to this store, and since they didn't have any just like it in stock, we were given a phone number to call. Now we have to ship it off and wait for it to be received before we can get a "coupon" to purchase another one. Meanwhile, we're having to wait days or weeks for shipping. This store management lied about their replacement plan policy, and it seems they should have refunded our money, so we could buy a different set. Every other company I've ever dealt with when a replacement plan was purchased, simply refunded our money back. Not this company.. Don't ever purchase a replacement plan with this store. These people will give you the run around, and make you jump through all kinds of hoops.

I got a hollow body Gretsch online and the top strings buzzed. Couldn't fix it, so I brought the guitar in. They said I could return it for store credit and look around if I saw something else I wanted. Ended up upgrading to an Epiphone Dot, actually. I just paid a little more for what it was worth and boom! It was so easy and the staff was so nice and helpful. This was a great experience and I'm happier than I would have been with the original guitar. A+++++ I highly recommend them if you're looking for a guitar.

The customer service is beyond expectations. Timmy, the manager in the sound department, worked with me and helped me hook up and listen to several different systems until I found the one that was perfect for both my price range and the venue I was working with. All the while letting me play with the systems and still helping other customers. Ended up getting a system that lessens the amount of equipment that I need to take with me and produces a great sound. Kudos to you and keep doing what you're doing!

This guitar center has it down! Everyone there is very helpful and understanding. I went to get a few guitar pedals and Dalton asked if he should check the back for a popular one that I was looking for. It was nice that he took initiative to immediately ask and look. They didn’t have it but he brought out one that was similar and showed it. He set me up and I played a bit with 3 pedals. He checked on me a few times and brought another pedal to checkout, he set me up and let me be. There was a first guy who helped me but I didn’t see his name but he helped me too, both very nice.

This past week I’ve been going through my gear and trading for more useful equipment. Josh Grider at the South Springfield location was a pleasure to work with. He took the time to help me find what I needed. I ended up leaving with exactly what I wanted and more! This beautiful PRS guitar is one of them. Thank you Josh!!!

No pressure, help was readily available if needed. The item I bought rang up for more than the shelf price. When I mentioned that, without hesitation the worker went looked on the shelf and honored the price. Evidently that sale had ended, I did not have to ask or debate- great customer service experience!

Just had a HORRIBLE experience here!!! Took my friend there last Saturday to get his instrument valued for trade, they told him a price so he saved up the extra forThe difference, when we got there he brought in his instrument for the trade, the very same manager (whoMind you remembered us and stated to me that he remembered the price he quoted) from the previous weekend shorted him 50 dollars trade value, I was a witness to what he said the previous Saturday and so did two of the workers standing there! This is poor business and a HORRIBLE way to treat long time customers!! We traveled an hour to get to this store to make this deal and the smug manager on duty kept smiling because he didn’t have too keep his word because we didn’t have it on paper even if he stated he remembered what he quoted!! If you decide to do business here make sure anything that’s told to you is write down!!!! This company just lost two long time customers and I will tell everyone I know how this store treated me and my friend!!!!

My wife Bekah has been looking for an Acoustic electric guitar with just the right fit, string action and tone for a long time. We went to many shops and followed up on private ads.She found not one but two new babies at Springfield Guitar center.Special Thanks to Spirit!!!😊 Spirit is the young lady who took such good care of Bekah for nearly 5 hours. Bekah played every guitar that caught her eye. Did research and talked with fellow customers. We had a budget that we were willing to spend on just the right guitar. She tried Taylors and Martins and MANY others. Spirit and the staff made Bekah feel welcome and unpressured.Bekah chose a Breedlove exotic Myrtle acoustic electric. She absolutely loves it!! Rich tones and easy playing. It was so much less than we budgeted for that she also bought a Gretsch Streamliner electric!!!🎸🎉We walked out with two guitars, new straps, nice soft bags, 2 year extended warrantees and a bag of picks for nearly $400.00 less than what we budgeted for one guitar!!😜Thanks again Spirit, you know we'll be back!!🌞🎶🤙

When I walked in I noticed two employees were by a display of front of the area toward the DJ area showing things on each other's phones. I shopped around the DJ area, then the sound & lighting room. I was going to purchase speaker stands, small sound board & a light or two. But, I had questions I needed answered. So I went to the same two guys I seen twenty - thirty minutes earlier still standing at same place. As I approached them, they dispersed. One turned away from my whole the other continued to look at phone ignoring me. Since I felt they didn't want to work, I didn't want to purchase anything then.
