Called about solar eclipse glasses because I live 25 mins away, I was met with an extremely rude and upset lady. Like I get it may be annoying to take 2 seconds of your time to help someone on the phone but it’s easier than doing in person is it not? This unfortunately is not my first bad experience here at this general store so now we’re here.

We love our Smithville Dollar General!!!! The staff goes out of their way to help us any time we need or ask for it. Great products, great clearance, great prices. Restroom has always been available & clean for us. Wish we could still get our rolls of quarters there for our laundry mat at our apt. but the manager said they can't do that for us anymore, & I guess I can understand that. Anyway great store great people except Aaron, he asks people for $ even when he's working. Don't care for him, but every1 else is awesome!!!

I want to add: 01/08/22...although the can catfood aisle has been sparse for awhile I was super impressed with the Cashier MICHELLE 👍👍👍⭐⭐she was like a breath of fresh air. Very positive and upbeat. I didn't mind waiting in line to pay because she made it as enjoyable as waiting in line can be. Of course I am partial to KAREN too. Always helpful and friendly.Very nice employees... They are quick to open a second register if the line has more than 3 people waiting..

Nice store. Pretty clean, stocked well and staff is friendly. Store runs on the cold side, so in the winter you definitely want a jacket and watch their prices! I have found that the sale prices are more expensive than the regular prices on a few occasions. I talked with the manager/owner (very nice man) and he said a glitch in their system caused this and corporate is working on it.

One of the best and cleanest Dollar Generals I have been to. Friendly and helpful staff. The prices are not bad, but some options aren’t available compared to a larger supplier. So a drive 15-20 minutes away is needed to get what you may need.

Good service and employees.. They love me and I love them and thankfully for their service and the convenience of walking distance.. FYI if you walk and you mention it most of the time if not always they'll double bag your purchase and continue to do so unless you say otherwise.. Very big help very Thoughtful and helpful/lifesaver being disabled and making it back home intact both me and groceries.. Thank you Thank you very Kindly 🤗

Love the Smithville store! The staff is friendly and helpful, especially with my candy bar addiction! They know all my family members and can help them find the specific candy bar I always buy! They really pay attention to what you're looking for and always try to give you the best customer service with great attitudes.

Bigger dollar general which is great. Lots of food, household goods and things. They carry 20 lb bags of ice and have beer and wine in the cooler. Always kind employees, always ask me how my day is, how I'm doing, if I found everything okay.Lots of clothes too.

Realized after I left I was short changed 10 dollars manager was very rude and told me the tape was right so it was going to be a while that he had to get the line out before he could count the register and said if it's even then there is nothing they can do. Welp it was 10 over. He brought me the money no sorry no nothing!!! Cashier was extremely nice!!! Need better management

Larger than expecting store. Was clean, but needs better lighting. I had an employee ask if I needed help which I appreciated. Didnt have what I needed, which was just a long shot so didnt have the opportunity to use checkout. Overall needed it to be a tad brighter.

Dollar General is great for shopping for school supplies or craft items. T-Shirts in lots of sizes and colors for school projects. Also great for greeting cards, personal hygiene products, and just about anything you need to grab in a hurry.

Stood in line for 24 minutes because they online have one cashier working. You would think when there is a line 10 customers deep another worker would take another register.

My wife complained about the promotional items on the aisles are not up to date to their computer system. She said be aware and pay attention to your receipts.

when in a small town dollar general is like Walmart..they have everything but you may need to ask to find it! we have an rv and they have saved us a few times with quality products at a decent price

Greater selection than the previous store, friendly helpful staff, great prices... very close to Smithville Lake, for all the last minute picnic boating or fishing supplies.
