After a number of inconveniences delaying the delivery of a piece of furniture I purchased, the Store Manager, Chris, personally delivered my furniture himself. His customer service was excellent and beyond professional.

Went to 2 big name stores, Menard and Lowe's and just about had to take hostages to get help. Went to Sutherlands and got help almost immediately. Justin answered all our questions and went out of his way to ensure we got all we needed for our project. He even loaded all for us. Was very impressed with his service. Also, being a veteran, I received a 10% discount on my entire purchase. That store just gained a customer.

I waited 10 minutes in the paint department for someone to assist me. I had two young employees, male and a female, look directly at me and not ask if I needed help as they were talking while stocking and end shelf 3 aisles away. I asked for help in the paint department looking right at them and they ignored me. A woman walked out of the cleaning closet and looked directly at me and did not offer help. Again, eye contact. She went to clean the bathrooms instead because that seems more important than your customers. If they were busy, I would understand. But this wasn’t the case. I was completely ignored and was not offered any help. This was around 5:00 pm today. I will not return. Surely out of 3 employees one could have helped me.

It's alright. Selection slim, prices were a bit more than Lowe's and Menard's. Avoiding traffic's west of town might be worth it in a pinch. Staff were not particularly helpful this last visit. I will say in last springs, their garden section has been decent. This time we were in the market for shower hardware.

Called to check on a lumber product in a 9 ft and an 8-ft after being on hold forever was told they didn't have the 9 ft but they had the eight when I arrived I found a complete pallet full of 9 ft after I had bought it somewhere else I wanted to buy approximately $2,000 worth of the 8-ft and was told there was no one that could help me load it, so I left. I'll be polite and just say they are very weak when it comes to customer service

so disappointed at these people, we met a guy at Lowes parking lot who had red mulch in hid truck bed so I asked where he bought it in bulk, so he told is about Sutherland and I needed compost for our raised beds so I called the store and girl said they do sell it by scoop so we rented dump truck and went there I was paying for it and sales girl said oh you need "top soil" I was like we need compost she said it's called top soil, I asked again saying I need it for raised beds, anyway she assured me that is want I need, I paid and guy came around in a tractor and loaded up, came home and start dumping it would come off the truck IT is a CLAY I called the store and told them that they loaded me with wrong stuff and if I can return it, after a hold he told me that manager said since it's by scoop we can't return it, he said ITS YORS NOW, wow, I was like I can't put this in raised beds, it's pure Missouri dirt, clay... I can get this our of my yard for free, I told him I have to dump this somewhere else, it's not about money now(60 bucks) it's what I do with it now? this is not a compost that you put in beds, anyway he said I can't bring it back, so I politely suggested him that they need to educate their employees to specifically clarify what customer needs and sell the right stuff, bottom line will never go there again and will not spent my hard working money to support this kind of stupidity so for all of you suggest the same, stay away

Price was fair, customer service is always King this store fails miserably with service. Asked an associate to page someone to gardening standing by a phone at a register said it'll be several minutes, waited several minutes still no one in gardening no call over the intercom for help in gardening. down the long narrow aisle I could see two red shirts laughing and cutting up as I approached I could see sutherlands written across their chest I won't interrupt their conversation anymore employees are always first in a service industry, good luck sutherlands in this competitive market world you're going to need it someday soon I'm sure. Sad

Sutherlands is a great place to shop. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lawn mower mechanic, Todd, is really great. He explains everything very well, and he even helped us get our mower registered 3 years after we purchased it. The original store where it was purchased had not completed the forms. We were able to have a great deal of work done on the machine under its warranty.

Went to pick my mower up after the mower shop called and said it was ready. Here on a Monday morning. No one has a key to the mower shop. Really you don't have a key at the store? No.Hmmm!

They MAY have the hardware parts your after. I tend to drive by this place and go to another hardware store as its a waste of time (mostly) to stop and search this store for something that doesnt exist here. For those that are into Archery sure, stop in!

We were there to find the prices for water heaters, and make selections for new construction items such as lighting, bathroom fixtures, flooring, and HVAC. The selection was slim due to the low choices. No one asked us if we needed help, it appears that the quality of customer service has declined over the past 9 months. We discovered on our own that there were water heaters to be found, and short of a frigidaire air heat pump unit there were no choices for HVAC. This makes our third effort within 9 months of seeking items at this store. We have made three tries at making Southerlands a source for reconstruction. No more.

I went to Sutherlands to check out their furniture department. I was impressed with the name brand furniture they carry and their prices are reasonable. The store I went to is in the process of expanding their furniture department so it should get even better in the near future.

This place has an awesome bow shop! John definitely knows what he's doing👍 Also has a shooting range that's cool. Prob won't give the rest of the store a 5star rating though.

I have been shopping at Sutherlands for years! Last week I saved 50.00 on just smaller items. I have always bought my ceramic porcelain tile there because they have such a huge inventory, great prices, and great quality. I have always been treated with kindness and helpfulness! If I go to buy something for home or farm I check out Sutherlands first!

Horrible!!!! Everything there is marked up twice as much as Lowe's and Menards. The customer service is non existent except for one nice lady. I've had to return so many items. The paint has been nothing but a nightmare from them. First their sutherlands paint is supposed to be primer included and only need one coat. I had to paint a white room with new white paint THREE TIMES. In my bathroom that paint chipped and peeled. I took it back and they would not do their warranty even with pictures and videos. I had to purchase a different brand. I bought dry wall primer as well . The primer peeled while I was brushing it . The only nice lady there that knows what their talking about helped me. The paint I got was completely different color then I ordered. I own my own business and have always gave sutherlands my business since they've been around here forever. I will never go back after today it's nearly impossible to find an employee to help you. I stood at the painting area for over 30 minutes for help until i decided to just leave .I'm sticking with lowes where the prices are more than half of sutherlands. What a rip off. I hope they get shut down from the competitor's. I gave sutherlands my business for over 8 years. No more after today.

Good store but cant ever find anyone to help you locate items. Also BS policy on pallets. Rather unload a whole pallet of concrete than give you a pallet. Not great business imo.

Went in to buy a pair of gloves and after 15 minutes of trying to verify the price I left. Brother tried to get splash guards and was told down one of the aisles and walked off. Very bad customer service to say the least!

One of the older lumber yards in town. Good selection but sometimes it's hard to get help when trying to find something. Has a furniture section and a nice archery shop on site.

horrible!!Had to get a wooden porch swing off shelf by self even though am disabled. Had to load out of cart into car by self...not 1 offer of help even though at least 4 employees were doing absolutely nothing. Assistan manager Loren promised to call me back to make things right and a week later haven't heard a word. Will NEVER step foot in a Sutherlands again. Want to know which store is the head of the corporation.

The Hoyt bow shop in Sutherland's Outdoors department is top notch best in Mid-MO. They take the time to find the right fit for you and your bow & arrow set-up. Definitely will continue to work with this pro-staff. "Get Hoyt, Get Serious". Good Job!!!

Dirty. Unfriendly staff. They will look at you and you can tell the hope you dont ask for help. Walk up to the front to pay and everone is on a cell phone playing around. Otherwise a good selection and they have cheap plumbing fixtures.

I will never set foot in the Sedalia MO sutherlands again! I was given the run around by multiple rude employees and the worst part was the manager, Pat, was of zero help and rude as well. This store has been like this for years and I've had enough. Lowes and/or Menards will get my business as well as my entire family's business from now on as they know how to treat their customers. This is not a one time occurrence either. Time after time and I've given them chances to right their wrongs to no avail.

Ghost town, went in for a belt, after 20min pacing aisles packet with clutter barely wide enough to snake through finally noticing a small sheet of printer paper stating replacement lawn tractor parts this way...find a small room out side the side of the building stood in there probably 5-10 min waiting for someone to show up...I'll be going somewhere else I can just get everything myself...disappointment because this used to be a way better place to shop.
