I was looking for some shampoo and vitamins. The people running the register were working hard to put away merchandise and running back and forth to ring up customers.They still took the time to be courteous to a very rude customer who insisted on telling them how to do their job and how much they hated shopping there. I was impressed at how patient the employees were.

Never enough staff to check you out timely. Frequently out of items like milk, eggs, bread. Lots of items that should be stocked on the shelves are left in the isles on large pallets or very tall carts. These items block you from shopping and being able to get items off the shelves due to the fact they in front of the shelf and take up almost an entire isle. Need more staff it seems.

It's always a great store to shop..shelves were getting empty, which is a given this time if year. No line waiting.. Someone else did a review and they gave only 2 stars! Which is a more accurate star amounts... it's been exactly as stated "Disaster!" I was in there 2 days ago and saw this..There is an aisle that has 3-4 rolling storage pallet like things in it that block entire length of aisle and then you're so close to other side of shelves that you can't stop to look because to there's no room! Hate to say it but store has gone downhill compared to what it used to be! On the positive note I did find some really good clearance items

I really need to share with you about the Salem Dollar General store here. It is a TOTAL MESS. We had a smaller store with a wonderful, faithful, hard working manager. She kept the store clean and neat. There was soothing music and always a smile. Now we have a larger store where too much merchandise is being sent there. There are not enough people hired to stock all of it. Stuff falls in the floor and lays there. We.seldom see the same person working there. One or three people cannot handle all this load of work. AND WHO IS THE MANGER? There is not enough room to hold the merchandise arriving. THE REPUTATION OF THE STORE IS AWFUL NOW. AND SAD. WE LOVED OUR DOLLAR GENERAL STORE. COULD SOME ONE COME FROM HEADQUARTERS AND SET THIS IN ORDER? ASAP! I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO CONTACT SOMEONE FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

I don't mind Dollar General but this store is ridiculous! Our town was so excited to get our new bigger one. However everyone complains. It's once again over stocked...the register setup is insane...u can't even make a line, causing everyone to be scattered around and in each other's way. Also 3 checkouts and 95% of the time only one open which at times cause a 15 minute or more wait time. Some of the employees are nice, but constantly new workers that can't even run the register right. I only gave 2 stars instead of one to somewhat be nice.

Nice place to shop. I wish they would clear the carts out of the clothing, and back aisles so that we can see what is on the shelves. Other than that the store is great. But the back room is where stock belongs.

Wow, I just got back from store # 401 in Salem, MO. What a disgrace to your brand. Boxes and crates everywhere, shelves not stocked. Can't get the card down the aisles. They let a guy hang out, just sitting on the floor playing on his phone and didn't even move for me to get by. Needless to say, my last trip. I had heard complaints from other citizens but was actually shocked at what I saw. You are losing customers, someone should make a surprise visit.

The worst DG I've been in. Empty shelves with stock blocking all the Isles was not unloaded for 3 days that I went in the store. I didn't see 1 box get unloaded. Sad that they built this big store and it's such a mess.

Bad management,filthy store,boxes everywhere. Shelves are unstocked and a mess. The whole stores a big mess and for it being a new store theres no reason for it. Its a accident waiting to happen in there. Lights go out around 8 in alot of isles and you cant see to shop. I hate running into or having to move the stupid boxes everytime i go in there to find what i need if its even stocked. Its sad we have this and walmart and then its in dissarray

There is never register tape out at the pump. I always pay at the pump so I dont have to go in and stand in line. But yet I still have to go in to get my receipt. Frustration thinking about going to Mobil from now on.

The last few visits I've made at this location this store was not stocked! Out of several items......coffee creamer,floor cleaners.....seasonal items just to name a few. Only seen 1 associate in the store. Store was very messy.

This place is always a disaster. Cant get to the stuff i want to buy because there's always big crates full of stuff in the way on so many aisles. So chaotic. Most things aren’t even priced’!

They were extremely busy, not enough cashiers, and it is so small crowded that can't get through the aisles. Even though the cashiers were busy they were still friendly.

Closed at 130 pm for stocking online says 9pm on Saturday by the way they wouldn't even let the people in the store check out they kicked them out horrible service won't be going back

I'm in the dollar store at least once or twice a week the people who deserve very courteous and nice the manager she is helpful and very nice she goes out of her way to help others

I ask simple question bout dust spray and the manager refused to check and see if it was discontinued...she was rather rude and wether or not item was took off shelves or not I still don't know...just another of as the world turns

I rarely go to Dollar General because there are boxes of product blocking the aisles. I used to like it but it's not worth the headache.

Good prices on most things sometimes you have to watch the size being sold though. Never a bad experience
