What a lovely experience!! I had been following the market for sometime but hadn't had a chance to visit until this past Saturday. As soon as we walked in a young girl greeted us cheerfully by saying "Howdy folks!" I honestly have never been greeted like that by any young person in a retail setting. WOW!!The building has been there for about a year and a half and it's pretty cool. It's spacious, super clean, had some hot, prepared foods, a good sized deli and an eating area. The icing on the cake was the blue grass band playing in the little table area. Led by a young girl who was singing, the band included several older gentlemen and their music was on point.Mike, one of the owners who makes all the FB videos came out, introduced himself and shared a brief history of the creation of the store. He was super friendly, professional and funny, a great face for their company. Btw, did I mention their meats were awesome? I cooked the ham steak for dinner in Saturday night because my husband couldn't wait and had bacon on Sunday, DELICIOUS!!! An all around A+++ experience!

It's a small little store. There was live music and the menu that was being offered was burnt tips, brisket and meatloaf. The burnt tips were to die for.

It is mainly a butcher shop, but they do carry some surplussed groceries. But that description barely does it justice, and this place has been a new favorite Saturday outing since moving to Jeff City. The manager couldn't be more personable and this interesting character will fix you up with meat for any occasion- just ask. Live Bluegrass music every Saturday and a very reasonably-priced lunch. The lunch is to showcase their meat and grocery offerings. There is a little ice cream parlor, but you might have to wait... til the girls running the counter are done singing a few hymnals with the band! The meat is from a co-op of local farmers, and though it is a little more expensive than grocery store prices, it would likely cost a whole lot more if it were marketed in a larger city as "locally grown".They have some unique prepared meats I have never found the likes of anywhere else, such as their sweet pepper bacon steaks.Seems to be be a family business and I wish them prosperity...Although the place is so darn quaint it should maybe be kept a secret!

Stopped by there today, seen it on my way to another town, Nice place, very low inventory, they sell grocery and meat. I assume they buy discounted foods damaged or closely outdated, the prices really do not show any discount on the grocery side, mor like convenience store prices for what they offer. Shelves are less than half full, probally due to fact people want better deals when you are paying pennys on the dollar for a product, very nice and clean store. They sell meat, They have decent prices on half hogs and beef, they even have beef bacon. Going to try some of the fresh cut meet, my main issue is prices on hunts canned spaghetti sauce and such, most stores retail at $1, they mark it up 50% from that, same thing throughtout grocery section. More often than not their prices reflect much higher markups based on the prices I know they pay. Also, its on the edge of the Mennenite area, its built to look like one of the community. It draws people based on appearence, and area, but lack of product tells me they dont sell much grocery, I think the meat might be worth checking out though, IMO they should just open a butcher shop, people will not pay grocery store prices + 25-50% for product they are buying at discounts, more than likely you can drive 5 miles and save serious $$$$$$!

This place is fantastic! It reminds me of the country stores I knew when I was a lad spending the summers with me grandparents in northern Wisconsin. Great food, great people and kindness. A wonderful throw back in time when people, service and excellence counter for something.

Bacon steaks. 🥓 that is all the review really needs but its worth mentioning the friendly service with wonderful people and ham cuts perfect for beans. The live music they have on Saturdays with at least 6 different instruments was a pleasure to experience also.

Awesome experience and shop. Mike, the owner, was a great guy to chat with. He offered us some free bacon to try at home since it was our first visit. We had a sandwich, chips and a scoop of central dairy ice cream ($1 a scoop) for lunch. The positive spirit was infectious and we will definitely be back. And try Mike's ham, it was delicious, even took a pound home after we finished our sandwich outside on the picnic tables!!!

Clean, good selection, fair prices. This is a family owned business doing things how they should be done. The beef is raised and butchered by the owners and I feel confident I'm getting the best quality possible. It's nice to know that instead of questionable feed lot raised beef, I can buy beef that was raised and local farmers humanely and healthily. I was even able to get some nice bones for our puppy to enjoy. She's in doggy Paradise right now.

Absolutely a fantastic place. Love the (one of the owners) that's always there is funny as can be and very knowledgeable about all they have. Constantly, give out samples of the food he fixes. Meat, and products are grown abs slaughtered in that are. DELICIOUS will continue to go back. Oh and they have free coffee and live music

Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a large selection of meat in their freezers. You can get anything from slices of thick sliced bacon to a whole hog or beef. Plus smoked meats. The whole turkeys look good! They also serve a lunch style meal for eat in or carry out. Worth a drive to check it out. I bought smoked Cornish Game Hens to try in a recipe for New Years.

We enjoy the local meat and the welcoming atmosphere. I would love to see them phase out the discount grocery section and team up with locally made/sourced producers to create stock that complements their high quality meats. I am thinking crafts, candles, baked goods, spices, sauces, cheeses, etc. It would most certainly bring those looking for a unique shopping experience. Buy local y'all!

Excellent environment and people.Very friendly with old time courtesy and service. The meat is a tad higher than a grocery store, but is locally grown and very fresh. So far the meat is the best as far as taste and very lean.An all out fun place to shop.

The meat is always so tasty! Locally sourced, good prices, and so tasty! It's always frozen unless special ordered, which works for me. They have other groceries, really good prices, but for me the locally sourced beef in particular is my favorite.

Amazing meat selection! Staff were very friendly. I bought ten pounds of ground hamburger and the owner threw in some ground sausage and bacon for free! There is also a sandwich counter and ice cream to boot! Couldn't ask for better!

The Covered Bridge Market stocks a variety of grocery items such as cookies, crackers, some canned goods, and similar things you would expect from a small market. But the specialty here is meat, they sell local beef and pork in a variety of cuts. They also produce some of their own sausage and other seasoned mixtures, as well as some smoked varieties. Everyone was helpful and friendly, stop in and see for yourself!

I try to go there at least once or twice a week. They have really good specials. They also have a butcher that cuts the meat fresh for you if you need it. They also have a lunch meat counter and they serve ice cream also. Can't beat an ice cream cone for a dollar.
