Wedding Review! We got married here in Sept. 2023 and it was more than we could ever ask for. Sherry was a phenomenal coordinator. My family rented one of their properties for the extended weekend. The property was phenomenal and the kids LOVED the pool. Split between 3 families, it was worth it. You truly can’t get a better view, wine and food!A couple of items to note as we looked back. We had rented the bottom portion only. It was EXTREMELY hot inside and the AC had a noticeable difference just within the door way going up. If we knew how hot it would be, that would have changed our minds to rent the upper portion too. There was very limited air flow and we actually had a few family members that left or had a heat stroke. Sherry was lovely and did allow us to venture upstairs as needed for air. I recommend going all in and just renting the whole building. This was a destination wedding but it would have given better spacing for everyone. We loved our wedding and wished we could have racked on at least one more hour for dancing 😂

The view from the A-frame is fantastic! No wine flights are served here, unfortunately just at the tasting room. Very clean place and relaxed atmosphere to drink some wine and enjoy the views. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and also offered small tastings if you're trying to decide on a wine. The pretzel bites are average in our opinion, but feel free to give them a try and decide for yourself. It's a short hike up(0.3 mi) from the Katy Trail or you can drive around to the top. We'll definitely be back and probably bring some friends with us!

Have lived in the area for almost 20 years and finally went and was there for one of their special events. I must say spectacular views and some of the best and most attentive staff around. As far as the food it was not only just so good and local but and this is of note, they work very hard for guests who may have restrictions or allergies to give them the same dining experience and I can honestly say I think mine may have even been better my fellow guests. This is a five-star Plus must see.

We came from Kansas City for mom’s weekend and had 9 folks in our party. Folks at the gate were rude about not bringing in food….ok we left it in the truck as we respect rules. We spent hundreds of dollars at the winery and as folks left we found tables in the tent area where our 9 plus and an additional 7 folks joined us. We knew the tent was reserved until 4 pm so we didn’t sit down in that area until after the reservation time was over. The manager on site very rudely asked us all to get up and leave! She advised that the time they had listed on the tent was wrong. Had we have known, we would not have sat in the tent. She was abrupt and extremely rude! We will advise all sororities and fraternities to utilize Serenity Valley as they have NEVER been rude and condescending as this place was to us. Mind you we spent over $800 at this winery. Poor customer service!! Do not go there!!! The owners need to talk to their staff!

What a disappointment. There was a college event going on… it was loud and obnoxious. And apparently, according to other reviews, this is a frequent “special event” that is reserved every few months or so— with no warning on the website or over the phone, since I did call and ask. The girls working the bar had no idea what was what, a lot of “uhhhhhh” going on, they weren’t personable or friendly, and tastings were not an option, though they didn’t seem very sure of themselves when answering the question. And they were sold out of most of the options? The only trashy winery I’ve experienced, what a shame for what a relaxing spot it could and should be. The “bathrooms” are dirty and tiny (not sure how any previous reviewers found this place clean, kind of baffling considering the layers of grime) and the whole property needs cleaning/up-keeping. Please just advertise yourselves as a college bar and be done with it so the rest of us don’t have to suffer.

Stopped by here on a cross country road trip and we'll be stopping again next time. Amazing view, lots of places to sit and enjoy a good glass of wine. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My mom and I made a quick stop in on our way back home from St. Louis to Kansas City and the guy at the front went above and beyond to make our first time there memorable! The wine we had was great and the finger food was perfect to snack on with it. Best costumer service we had all weekend on our mini weekend getaway. Will definitely be making the drive back soon!

It was okay, too many kids running around for a winery. They need more staff, waiting in line for a glass of wine in the sweltering heat is zero fun. It also could use some upkeep, it’s not in the best of shape, lots of wasps!Note: the wasps were present because of the stacked empty cases of wine outside. If they were disposed of properly, cleaned, or out of the seating area, the wasps would not be present.

Drove over 2 1/2 hours to a loud, chaotic event for college students. No indication on their site. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Staff couldn't care less and was not knowledgeable. I would avoid..

This was our first time in the winery and it was a wonderful experience. All of the employees were very nice and very helpful working promptly to serve big crowds of people during this particular weekend. The scenery is beautiful the wine was amazing I would highly recommend this Winery to anyone traveling in Central Missouri.

We had a bottle of Noiret with lunch. We liked the wine and bought another to take home with us. She had the stuffed portabella mushrooms entrée that she thought was amazing. I had the Cajun Shrimp and Andouille entrée which was so good I couldn't get enough. The staff was great the food was amazing and the view was gorgeous.

Beautiful! What Lovely place to sit outside in the shade over the Missouri River. Plenty of room and equipped to handle a crowd. A favorite to be sure!

It was really cool to see where it all began! During the tour down the road we heard about how the family moved into the A frame for a year while their house was built, so it was fun to go see it. They have really made a nice space for people to hang out, enjoy the wines and beers, and appreciate the great view! The only real problem is there is only one bathroom, so I could imagine it becoming a problem when it's crowded there. I heard they are planning some renovations, so maybe there will be more / better bathrooms soon? They have a small menu selection- kind of like a snack bar, but tasty and well suited for pairing with the beer and wine (which is what they are there for, after all). It was hot and muggy when we were there, but still enjoyable. Looking forward to coming back on a cooler day or evening!

I went there last Saturday with 2 friends, hoping to enjoy a relaxing time. It was immediately jarring. As we pulled in to park there was a school bus loading up a bunch of drunk sorority/fraternity kids. I could see them swaying, one fell over, I could see that their eyes were barely steady. Once we got towards the bar/ordering area there was a girl off to the side that had injured herself and she had been refused more drinks only for the boyfriend to get served. It was all in all sad to see an establishment I'd heard such great things about encouraging drunkenness for kids that were barely 21 if that...I didn't see anyone get carded. I would love to have a redo without all the Sigma Tau nonsense.

Was a great experience until needing assistance getting to the Vinyard from the parking lot. Asked for assistance just a simple ride in the golf cart from the worker due to having knee surgery and they couldn't deliver. Loved this place but unfortunately don't see myself returning 😕.

Historically, I have always had positive experiences at the A-Frame. The views, wine and food are all excellent.I recently visited the A-Frame on the afternoon of 9/16/23. I wanted to buy a bottle of wine and I inquired about the Chambourcin Saignée. I mispronounced the name of this wine and the "gentleman" working the counter was obviously irritated by this but went to look for the wine. When the wine was presented, it was a dark color, and I was looking for more of a lighter color Rose. The male employee then seemed irritated that it wasn't what I wanted. At this point I felt very unwelcome. I told my friend "I don't think he understood what I was asking". I wanted to know a little bit about the wine so I could make a decision, maybe I should have just bought a glass and tried it with no explanation? It's apparent I'm no sommelier. At this point the male employee says, "I can't do this" and walked out leaving the other employee by herself with a long line waiting. This female employee was very kind and explained to me that she didn't know too much about it since it's not ordered frequently, but she did let me know it was part of their collector's series.Really disappointing customer service, especially considering this person is at the main counter in the A-Frame. Not a great first impression or first encounter with staff at a business. I had bought a sticker for advertisement in my own local business, but I don’t think I will give the recommendation to go to this establishment if this guy oversees your customer service experience. Still giving 5 stars because I know how important that is as a business owner and this place is great with the exception of this bad seed.

This place is awesome. Great views, good wine, light fare and beer! Pro tip: If you are on bikes take the roads from Rocheport, not the suggested Google route along the Katie.

So far, it's the best place to enjoy the sunset near Columbia. We love it so much.

The a-frame had only one worker. We were not able to order food . Heavy volume. Management/owners are not around. Left employee to fend for himself. Employee did the best he could and he was obviously stressed. When we entered to order he let us know he was trying to prepare many many food orders

My daughter had her wedding weekend at this incredible venue. The food was fabulous and the service from all of the staff was extremely professional and courteous. The woman who was in charge of this event is Sherry. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful she made this weekend and how extremely helpful she was to all of us, making sure we were all relaxed and taken care of. She goes above and beyond her position and certainly knows how to treat people during this time of stressful planning while she makes sure that everything ran smooth and having it all turn out perfect. She was extremely accommodating from the beginning to the end of the event. Thank you Sherry for making the weekend of my daughter's wedding be a beautiful memory.Donna Hanley

It was terrible. The place is badly in need of an update. The help was surly and acted as if they did not want to be there. The wine was ok at best, but wonderful views from the overlook.

Nice atmosphere. Could use some new picnic tables. Showing quite a bit of age on what they have. Wine is great as always.

Went for the Crush Festival and had a good time, even though it was rainy. They did a good job providing coverage from the rain, except right where you go to order drinks and food.
