My dog was cut horribly like never before . They chopped off all of her hair on her ears and it looked very sloppy and unprofessional. They also gave a shape to her face that doesn’t match her breed and didn’t clip her nails. I do not recommend .

Been taking my pups here for years. Planet of Dog is the only place I’ve found that my dogs will be relaxed when we enter and while they are having their nails trimmed. Very chill vibes! Highly recommend for their services they are very kind and helpful and get along with pets.

I was so nervous to take my dog to a groomers because I've heard such bad experiences some people have experienced. I loved this place so much!!! Told me my baby did such a good job for his first time, he's still a puppy so I'm glad he did an amazing job. Will be coming here from now on!

STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! We are from out of town & needed our corgi bathed, trimmed up and nails done- Well when we picked her up , our dog had been COMPLETELY SHAVED , COMPLETELY! My husband was mad told the lady that wasn’t what I asked for 😡 and all she said was “sorry I didn’t understand “ Really !! and we still paid full price - i definitely would NOT RECOMMEND this place !! They are supposed to be professionals !!!

Worst experience, and won’t be going there no more. I been there 3 times back to to back to try a new place out. I was very skeptical of the place but gave it a shot. My first time there I got very weird vibes just going in to the place.. but I was okay let me just try it out. Left my Yorkie there showed them a picture of what I would want and they were like okay. I come back and it wasn’t too bad but not exactly want I wanted but again I have them the benefit of the doubt that maybe the were busy and didn’t have time to do exactly want I wanted. Then next month comes and I take once again told the lady to just trim him up and she always nods her head as if she’s not listening to me. Once again I come back and he’s hair is super uneven he’s leg was kind of bleeding and again gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it’s my dog moving or something. Here I go today, showed them a picture of what I wanted. Mind you they told me to come back in 1hr, I come back and he still wasn’t ready and I asked the guy how much longer he said 30 minutes. So here I come back in 30 minutes and they do it again my baby comes out looking like a Chihuahua. He completely took all his hair off on his face. I was furious!!!! I’m no longer going there. The price is really good, but it’s not even worth the quality they give you.

We have been taking our dogs here for at least 6 years. We had a Chihuahua who went til he passed away and our Australian Cattle Dog since he was 4mths and now is 5. We have also been taking our German Shepherd we got a year ago. I am all about using small businesses as I am a business owner too. I really like the prices and my dogs all seem to enjoy their baths and nail clipping. I have never had any issues. I do see how there could be a language barrier if you don’t speak Spanish. Other than not being ready on time on a few occasions my experiences have always been great. They have asked if I want them cut and I have always said no since my dogs are all short hair dogs. I have recommended them to others who take their dogs there as well. I am truly a customer for life! Thank you for always taking good care of my fur babies!

I always have a wonderful experience when bringing my dog to planet groom. I’ve been taking my dog to this groomer for the past eight years and have never had an issue. Although I no longer live in the area I’m always willing to drive an extra 30 minutes just to bring my dog to this wonderful groomers! The price is also very reasonable and with that being said I am able to get full service done for my dog for the price of $38 well other places charge me 65 and more for full service. you can’t beat that! My dog is also very hyper but somehow this groomers always seems to be able to calm him while he’s getting his haircut and a bath. A+ !

Excellent place with excellent service! They did a fantastic job with my dogs, one of which is a wiggle worm :) And the price was exceptional. Much more expensive groomers haven't done half as good of a job. I was very pleased!

DO NOT take your dogs here! Today I took my Husky and my Husky/Chocolate Lab mix to get bathed. I specifically asked MULTIPLE times for them to not cut or shave their fur, to ONLY bathe them. I was told absolutely and they'd be ready at 2. I showed up at 2 and was told they weren't done, to come back at 2:30 (although this was the least of my worries). When I finally got my dogs my Husky had been bathed, but very clearly he had not been brushed at all. He still had clumps of loose fur. But the worst was when my Husky/Chocolate lab came from the back. I immediately knew they had cut her hair. She has long, two toned hair where it's light at the root and gets dark at the ends. Her hair was cut as short as it could be without be considered "shaved" and it was super uneven and patchy. My heart immediately dropped because her fur is so unique and she isn't supposed to be shaved as it is. I told them that I was upset because I had asked multiple times for them to not cut their fur at all. The man (I believe he is the owner) told me that it was clear that I didn't like my dog because she was messy (we live on a farm and they run around the fields-- that's why I brought them to a groomer???). He then told me I didn't deserve my money back because he didn't shave her, he just cut her hair. I told them that they had my phone number and after I had stated so clearly I did not want them cut or shaved, they should have atleast called to consult with me before just doing it. I know it's just fur but I can only hope that it will grow back as beautiful as it was. The owner was so disrespectful and legitimately yelled at me because I expressed my upset. I will NEVER go back here.

I was so pleased with this groomer from the moment I made the reservation. My poodle is older and needs special care and this groomer had no problem with that. He told me to come back in 2 hrs and my dog was ready and looked great! The prices are comparable to other groomers and clearly posted so there are no questions. I gave specific instructions and they were followed to a t. My pup was so happy when I returned! All of this makes me sure that I will be going to Planet of Dog Grooming for all my pet grooming needs. As others have said, no credit cards so have cash or check ready.

I took my 2 dogs in to get groomed. Asked them to only trim their behind & private area & trim around eyes of one. They barely trimmed around the eyes. They cut my other dog all over very uneven. He didn't need trimmed at all. He wasn't matted or tangled. He has scratched NON STOP since then. He can't sleep from scratching so much & now has bald spots.

I have been taking my lil Shih Tzu here since the day we got him 4years ago, they were always nice and affordable $20 for full service grooming. They have never clipped my dogs nails but i never complained because it was only $20, i would take him somewhere else and get them clipped. I took him this week, dropped him off at 9am called twice to see if he was ready he was finally ready at 4p. I wrote my usual $20 check and was told that the cost is now $30 my daughter out of her own pocket paid the additional $10. Once we got home I noticed that his nails were still not clipped and I called spoke to the owners maybe 11 year old daughter, because now all of sudden the owner does not speak English. He said he did not clip my dogs nails because he is mean. Really??Full service is full service and he didn't perform full service so I went and asked for my $10 back, he gave me my money and told me i need to take my dog some place else next time. WOW!!!I guess you get what you pay for, 7 hours for a bath and a haircut, I think there service is worth no more than $20. There is no telling what has happen to my dog or didn't happen to him for 7hrs.So they just loss a long time customer.

The man there was friendly.I read the reviews before coming in and determined that all of the bad reviews were due to special instructions on haircuts.He knows English but not enough for any special instructions.If you just need a nail trim or just a simple full trim this is your place.Very affordable and friendly.

After we specifically told them not to shave our dog, they did it anyway, unevely, and around his genitals. It looks like he had surgery or something. It looks terrible. We went there because our normal groomer couldn't fit us in, but we'll never go back. I'm not even sure it will grow back properly. They said he had "knots", but he is a mountain dog and his hair is just naturally thick. He's been to many other groomers, and no one has ever felt he needed to be shaved. They also wouldn't give our money back. So, ya, screw this place. Never going back.

We recently moved and we found Planet of Dog Grooming online and had seen it when we drove by on Gateway. Needless to say I wasn't happy with our experience there. I dropped my two bichons off around 10 in the morning and made sure to say that they get a bichon cut. I got a call finally around 3, when they were closing to say that the dogs were done. I wasn't expecting to hear from them so late and was downtown running errands. I asked if I could come and get them when I was done but that wasn't an option so I had to pretty much stop what I was doing to go and get them. When I made it there to pick them up I was a little taken aback. My male bichon got a poodle cut and my female looked like a Maltese. Neither had a round bichon face that is typical. I am not quite sure if their nails were clipped but it looked as though my poor dogs were given a very quick buzz cut and sent on their way. For the amount of time that it took and the results, I am sad to say that I will not be returning to this business. We like to keep our business local and especially give business to the smaller businesses but in this instance, we will return to our previous groomer. She charges a little bit more but I know that they get better care and grooming there and are also done a lot faster.

Read good reviews on it from Google reviews, so I thought it would be a great experience for my Shorkie. I told the groomer I wanted him to be trimmed and left him there for two hrs. He was suppose to call me and tell me when he was ready but he did not, I had to call and ask. Went to go pick him up and they completely shaved his whole body off. IT was so uneven from head to toe. I ask why did you do this? I didn't ask for this. He said by quote " he had a little tangle". So after leaving I realize why should I pay for something I did not ask for? I know the difference when tangle and matted, my dog hair is not matted but yes he definitely needed a brush. THEY are suppose to call me and tell me the situation and THEN I would DECIDE if I want it shaved off or not. THEY made their own decision without consulting with me about my DOG, So I called and ask for my check back. They said sure, so okay I went to go pick it up and he had the nerves to tell me he wants me to pay $18 for the use of their shampoo and nail trim. I said no. After going back and forth he said I don't need your money so shut up and get out. Never have I ever been vocal about being unhappy with something but this had got to be the worst experience and place I have ever brought my dog to.

This was my first time and rhe Last one, I never ever will take my dogs there. I only told them in english and Spanish «only bath no cut nothing else » Solo baño no corte ni nada más, the lady cut my border collie's leg and she did not say anything, till i got home I noticed blood in her back leg and she was wet and her nails were cut very short. I think this person is not a profesional grooming or is learning with our dogs. PLEASE NEVER EVER -IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOGS- DO NOT TAKE THEM TO PLANET OF DOG GROOMING.

We've been taking our two 50# lab/chow mix girls to Jose for a few years now and couldn't be happier with him. The dogs are definitely on the upper end of the size limit set by the business, but Jose has never refused to take them.The first thing you'll notice is that English is not the owner's native language, as he is from Paraguay. Somehow he seems to always get it right when I make requests of him, but I can understand how the potential for mis-communication exists.I admit I've been frustrated a time or two when the dogs were not ready at the time he said, but other times I am the one who is delayed, so it washes out. I've learned to just leave them for the day. If they're in his way, he can call me.As for the comments about how the dogs are treated: all I can say is that our girls are not particularly fond of strangers or new places, and they have NEVER balked about going into Planet of Dog. Their body language and wagging tails tells me that they are comfortable there and never abused.PoD is a very small business and we like that, even if it means the owner might have to leave for a few minutes to run a business errand or something. If you are expecting a posh luxury resort, go somewhere else. For the rest of us, this place gives the best value we've found in the city.Oh, Kali and Bella asked me to add: woof! woof! and give Planet of Dog two tails up!

This place sucks....I asked them to trim not cut short. Puppy was cut very short. He has been traumatized and not the same since taking him there. Wonder how they treated him to cause this. SOMETHING happened to him. Do not take your dog there!!!

I told them not to shave my dog, to give him a standard schnauzer cut. They shaved all of him even his beard. 😡 I’m so upset they did this. I’d go somewhere else if you have a certain style.

I just picked up my dogs and their fur is damp. I also noticed blood on one of them and she has a cut in her skin. This is the first AND LAST time I will take my beloved pets there.
