I was hopeful because I’ve had friends that ordered from here. I won’t again. You basically pay for dirt with the tiniest plant. Don’t expect flowerbed ready flowers. My advice is to go to your local nursery. 7.50 per phlox (see photo and judge for yourself) and 10ish for a bag that contains dirt and a small root bundle that might grow into an astilbe and 11 for catmint See photos—you decide if it’s worth it. Return policy makes it ridiculous to consider returning—you pay to ship back and 25% “restocking fee.” Would not recommend.

Ordered 2 bleeding heart plants. They were just starts...very small and no leaves. packaged appropriately. I put them in the ground and they have been growing like crazy. They already have flowers blooming!!

I have found my new online plant store! I ordered 20 some hostas and then read the reviews after the fact. I was a little nervous after reading the reviews that I may have made a mistake. I am super impressed with the plants that I received. They were packaged very, very well. I also printed pictures of each hosta that I ordered to make sure that I received the correct plants. Every single one of them were correct and they are very healthy plants. There was 1 out of the bunch that has a little yellow on the ends (I only mention this as someone might see it in the picture and think that it is not healthy). The plant itself is very healthy and nothing that would concern me at all. I would definitely recommend this company. Thank you for the beautiful hostas!!

I ordered 100 bare root hostas from Gilbert H Wild and Sons. The shipment came very fast (cross country!). The hostas were very large with extensive root systems. After a short water soak, I planted the hostas. It's only been six days and about half of the hostas are already showing sprouts. The hostas were very good quality and I appreciate the value in ordering from Gibert H Wild. Recommended!

I ordered the 50 hosta bare root MIXED bundle. I received them and I went by directions to plant. I planted them and then a cold snap hit in Alabama. We had a longer blackberry winter than usual, but they did finally take off. They are beautiful and growing like crazy, but they are all the same kind. I ended up with only 2 plants that are different than the rest. That was disappointing. Hopefully they reproduce quickly. I recommend this nursery.This is photos from 1 year and I will add more pics these hosta are showing out!!! Great place to order from!!!

I ordered Muhly grass and was so dissapointed when I opened the box. They looked half dead. I posted a review here and they responded asking me to email them so they could help me. I deleted my review to give them a fair shot at making things right. Its been at least 10 days since that email and no response so here I am again. I did go ahead and plant them in hopes they may come back. These things were so root bound I had to cut the pots off of them as well as the roots just so i could break up the concrete like soil This company proved to be a huge dissapointment.

UPDATE: Size isn't ALWAYS everything! Almost 9 months later with rooting hormones lots of water and a mild spring, many of these actually bloomed!! A few plants died, but several lived. So, I added a couple stars to my original review. And I'll try to post pix below as well.I'll stick with my original statement: I'll try this company again and hopefully weather and Covid-19 won't be against us.=Detailed NOTE FOR CO=I ordered the fall blooming daylily bogo set.When they arrived, they were terribly distressed and three were DOA (crusty and falling apart in my hand). However, last year - the year that was 2020 - was a HARD YEAR! FOR EVERYONE! And, frankly, that's why I expanded my garden- to ensure SOMETHING pretty came out of that year. After losing 26 people to Covid (family members, friends, and church members)- I'm glad I didn't just give up. I didn't feel like the problem was entirely your company's fault because of the heat, covid labor shortage/shutdown and postal slowdown. I have gotten Daylilies and other flowering plants for several years from Gilbert H Wild and they have the best prices and flowers of all! I have gotten the best daylilies at the best prices! The flowers have always been excellent and have all bloomed very well! The first orders were planted in Michigan! Now I am in Florida and Gilbert H Wild is continuing their excellence!!

Buyer beware!!!!!We ordered 20 hostas, $8.95 each. Some were an inch tall, some were 6” tall, and full of bugs. Plus the shipping box was not properly packed, although they stated they can’t help what happens after the box leaves their facility. Being in the moving business, I’m was surprised it made it to our business with any square corners. Also, I could have returned them on my dime, really!Chris Hoehl

I've placed 2 separate orders with this company this season. The first order was great, no problems with anything, all the plants met my expectations and grew fine.Then I placed an impulse order at the end of season sale for 20 of the same plant, listed as coming in 3" pots. When they arrived, only 1 of the 20 fully met my expectations. Half were so tiny they appeared to have been recently potted up from plug liners. The rest were smaller than I would have expected.I contacted them, their only answer was, "We're sorry you weren't satisfied, you can pay to ship them back for a refund."Their website states customer satisfaction is their number one priority, lol.I would have been satisfied with almost any kind of gesture, a partial refund, a credit, some new, decent sized plants... Their response was disappointing and I let them know that. I received no response at all to that email.I'm not sure which order was the fluke, the good one or the bad one, but I don't think I'll take the risk of ordering from them again.*This response from the owner was received AFTER I left the unfavorable review, and after multiple emails back and forth looking for a solution prior to the review.

Received an order of assorted flowers on 04/01/2024 and they were a disgrace. They were wilted and discolored. Out of the 12 flowers received only 3 where in fair condition. BUYER BEWARE. See attached photos.

Ordered 20 of the giant miscanthus and this is what I got in the box (photos). After a few weeks and some email communication I still have 7 plants with no growth and rotten roots from disease. The customer service told me that I overwatered them and should have put them in the ground. I told them they should have sent healthy growing plants to begin with and informed them of my credentials. Looks like another shady online nursery that sells dead and diseased plants then blames the customer for not caring for them properly.

Ordered 6 hostas. 3 are dead on arrival. Immediately sent emails with photos per instructions. The email address doesn't work. I called and it goes to vm. No way to leave a message. I'd like a refund for the 3 hostas. Order # 981395.Wish I didn't need to leave this review but when you leave a number but don't answer the phone and take down your email, I am left with no choice.

I completely understand some dissatisfactions in negative reviews, because everything and everywhere can't be perfect. I was purchasing from this company in 2018 and don't completely remember the degree of my satisfaction that time, but since I didn't write a bad review, it means everything was OK :) I received my new order a few days ago. The lilies, daylilies, irises were very healthy and fresh, packed with care and went directly to the ground. The irises are already ~ 10 inch leaves, I was very pleasantly surprised. In future, if I will want these particular flowers I received this time, I will buy only from this company.

I have been ordering from Gilbert H Wild for years. I have over 35 dailies. They always sent awesome plants.Last year I ordered a white spider Lily and it came in sad shape and died. This early year I ordered two more of them. IJust receivedthemand they are awful

Don’t buy bulbs from this company. The quality is poor and they don’t stand behind their products. I only wish I had read the Google reviews before spending $144 on bulbs.1/3 didn’t flower and some didn’t even emerge. The ones that did flower are of such poor quality - small and few leaves, rare brief flowers.I tried to give them a long time to finally flower, but they didn’t. When I contacted the company they said it was too late. They were fall planted spring bulbs, and I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt.They said “have a blessed day” and blocked me from their Facebook page so I can’t comment - I was holding off on commenting on social media because I expected them to stand behind their products. And now they’ve blocked me from their Facebook page so I can’t even see the page let alone comment.Buy bulbs elsewhere.

Bought 8 Peony roots last year. Only 2 lasted a second season, 4 never sprouted and none have yet to bloom. They print QUALITY GUARANTEE on EVERY page of their sale circular, but they DON'T say it's ONLY 7 days from receipt of order and they require pictures within that time frame - and an overall 45 day guarantee -(a time frame during which no one could possibly know if a root is going to produce). When you email then about the problem, they basically tell you to go fly a kite..... WILL NEVER order ANYTHING from this AWFUL company again.Should have spent a few dollars more and bought existing plants from a local TRUSTED nursery.Now that the company has seen the review, they are suddenly willing to speak. NO THANK YOU. YOU WERE GIVEN EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE AND REFUSED.

Was cheated out of 10 Fire Wheel Indian Blanket Flower Plants. I've emailed and called repeatedly and have gotten no one to answer at all. I fortunately have my order invoice that clearly shows they where BOGO. I'll be visiting the Better Business Bureau and lodging a complaint shortly after I leave this review.

I ordered a dozen Nepeta/Catmint plants to do a border. The plants that arrived were about 2 inches tall and half were starting to turn white/brown. No idea if they will live - but this is not going to look good this year for sure. I probably wasted over $100 on this order. I won't be back!

Purchased 15 peony roots (3/5 eye size) in September and they were delivered today (October). All were huge, even the one 2/3 eye root I purchased was quite large. They were all well packaged with shavings and adequate moisture and clearly labeled. These are priced much better than many other online nurseries, especially considering the larger root sizes. Will definitely purchase again.

I’ve ordered several times, some plants are successful some are not. My biggest wish is that you would let customers like me come pick up the plants rather than spend 2-3 days being shipped. I live about 30-40 minutes away. I am a delivery carrier and know how all parcels are treated just because we have so many.My daylilies have been beautiful, my coreopsis died, coneflowers are going back to their native colors. Hostas, some good others not. Some may be my gardening skills too.

Shorted my 4 hostas on my order.They were buy one get one free. They didn't bother to tell me when they pulled the order, they just put a note on packing slip, claiming a crop failure & they are issuing me a credit . ( My guess that X fungus, as it's hard to kill hostas... Point is watch any hostas you buy from them this year . If it's this disease it will wipe out your entire hosta garden.)So I called them, asked if theirs another buy one get one free I can replace with & they said not in that size hosta. ( So NO!).I found a hosta that was very similar in price ( 25¢ more) but it as not a buy one get one free , they won't honor the bogo purchase in any form.I spoke to the manager, she claimed they didn't know until they pulled my order. Today is April 28th & they printed the shipping label on the 26.When they confirmed my order on April 17th via email, they had already removed the specific hostas from my order .They start shipping early to mid March, but the manager claims they didn't know of the crop failure until they pulled my order , yah right! I guess nobody else order any hostas that would have shipped a month ago or before mine order was pulled.Fyi, I placed my order on March 1st, I guess they don't watch their fields and treat accordingly, because they lost a entire crop according to them.In the end I don't recommend buying from them. Clearly they have trouble managing their business.

Do not order plants from them - customer service is terrible. They sold me a hosta that was not in stock. While they refunded me for the cost of the hosta I did not receive, they did not refund the shipping costs and refused to send me a different hosta even though I offered to pay the difference. It would cost more than I originally paid to obtain the same number of hostas. I won’t order from here again.

I have ordered hundreds of plants from Gilbert H Wild and have been very happy with all my orders. They are shipped with a lot of care so the plants are protected. It must cost them more money that way but I see the added value as a customer. All my plants have been healthy and good sized for the money. I am a customer for life!

I have ordered from this company twice and have a new go-to company to order my plants! I ordered hostas, which came beautifully packaged and labeled. But the rave is for the bare root extras that I ordered. I planted them in small pots with half compost and half potting soil and they are so healthy, and actively growing! I have ordered other bare root plants elsewhere with poor results. I have also ordered day lilies and will peruse their perennial selections in the future.

I purchase this coral sunset peony root from Gilbert Wild. On the website it clearly states the root is 3-5 eye. This was what attracted me because eye numbers and root size are important for peonies. When i received it, it only has two eyes. I contacted their customer support right away and they refuse to replace it and said it will grow. I mean, hello, the price of 2-3 eye should be lower than 3-5. They should not just dismissed the issue. Even though this is a small thing in life, still feel very upset. This is not the right way to do business.

I received 3 iris in April. One immediately died. I called and emailed customer service and was told they would credit my account, instead of just sending me an iris,which does me no good as I already spent $10 on shipping and additional on tax. I would have to spend additional money on shipping and tax to use the credit. I won't be ordering from them again as they don't stand behind their product and customer service is inadequate .
