My family adopted our first dog over 20 years ago. Her name was Shelly. We have since adopted another dog . They are the best and most grateful, loving animals when they get their forever home! Tri-lakes shelter worked with us to be sure everyone got along (we have 3 cats and 2 other dogs). Best place to adopt your next family member!

I love the place we actually got a dog there named Lousie last Tuesday if I can remember, but gonna inform that Lousie ran off, she slipped out of her harness and has been missing for so far 3 days now I think, other than that she was a very sweet dog and gave soft kisses and if we gave her a treat she would actually be gentle with taking it, it's sad she's missing now, I'm hoping that someone didn't take her or worse... I'm hoping she's safe, knowing that she is a shy dog and is probably scared, I'm doing everything I can to see if we can find her or something I been posting on Facebook about it and hoping that she will return safely.UPDATE: she is back home!!!I love your shelter keep up the good work even though it is hard since having short staff, you all are still trying your best

In 2019 I volunteered here not looking to adopt but then I came across my best friend. The people there were so nice back then I’m unsure of what all has changed but, all I know for certain is he has fit perfectly into my life since day one of bringing him home. Today my buddy Coffee has turned 6 years old. And I couldn’t have asked for a better pup! I have not only adopted him from here but he is the first dog that I’ve personally owned. So if you are searching for a new animal to be in your life I would recommend stopping by or even volunteering here because there are a lot of great dogs and cats that are looking for great homes. Thanks to this place I found the perfect dog for me! And I feel like coffee would say as his birthday wish he hopes the other animals will find great forever homes as well 💖.

We had to drop our sweet Nymphadora off 2 weeks ago. The cat housing is larger than we expected. They make an effort to keep the cats healthy by putting them in a quarantined level and keep them under close observation for 2 weeks. There was a 20 drop off fee but they were sweet and adopt out. There was a 1 month waiting list but overall better than anywhere else in the area.

Staff is very friendly and very helpful. We adopted a cat from there and he is pretty good aside from some behavior issues that were not disclosed to us. Usually this is not an issue as cats are unpredictable in new and unfamiliar surroundings. However, upon first glance in the “healthy cat room” every single cat had upper respiratory issues or infections with green discharge from the nose, or severely swollen, leaky eyes. Most cats had dry patches and scabs from what I presume to be fleas on their skin and appeared uncomfortable. Staff informed me it’s allergies due to cold weather and low humidity. I was skeptical but left it at that. I had requested info and was given the name and number of a vet clinic that had no records of the cat in their system. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I was also given no proof of a negative fiv test. Only a rabies certificate was provided with verbal confirmation of negative fiv results. Honestly I love animals and animal shelters. I’m a vet tech and volunteer regularly however I feel this shelter does not take steps to ensure health of their cats. However, this should not stop anybody from adopting as all animals need a home that loves them.

Someone took our lost dog in there and when we picked her up, she was in a filthy cage , covered in ticks , they had her for 2.5 days, and shortly after getting her back she passed away. She needed a vet but they did nothing except criticize my family. Never recommend.

Accompanied a friend who adopted a cat. Nice facility and the staff was so helpful and friendly. He found a perfect match and the staff are very organized and informative, which made for a very pleasant adoption. Feels good to see a cat get a good home and a very happy new owner. 😊

I would not take my animals here. everybody we met was sooo rude and hateful. If they cannot treat humans with kindness and compassion i’m sure they are not showing kindness to their animals. it’s very sad! I hope you find a better place for your sweet fur babies. this place is not it

Tried to drop off a 40lb bag of dog food last Thursday (21 July) at 2:26 pm. The gate was locked, four cars in the parking lot, no one answered the phone. So disappointing.

A necessary organization that is run quite well by people who live and care for the animals that come through their facility. If you ever have the opportunity drop off a bag of dog food or cat food as they accept donations.
