Nice place and great price. I bought an Echo Blower 2520 today at Sutherlands Lawn & Garden. A young guy was able to help me out with my purchase. He was knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate your help bro. You provided excellent customer service for me. Lady at the cashier was kind. Handy tools are very close home. I will come back for sure.

After driving around KC searching furniture stores for a sofa and chair, and not finding something that was nice quality and appropriately priced, I decided to search online. I found some sofas I liked on Ashley's website, and remembered I had seen and liked them at Sutherland's. That same day, in Sutherland's circular, I saw those sofas on sale for an unbelievable price! We hurried over to purchase four pieces of furniture and four days later, not weeks, we have them. Would have never thought I would find it in a home improvement store.

I historically used the older location in Independence until they closed. Since then I have occasionally driven the extra distance to the Raytown store mostly because of my familiarity with their set up, and their loyalty program. I have for the most part always found what I needed. I like the fact that you won’t routinely have to wait in long lines or crowded parking lots like you would some of the other big stores. Sometimes I do find it challenging to find staff to help. I have also found on occasion they don’t have all the right supplies/materials to mix specific colors of paint. Otherwise I find their materials and prices to be quite competitive, and often their friends of the family sales are outstanding. If you know your way around and what to look for.... this is the perfect place.

We took our Bad Boy Mower in for a damaged blade and we were blown away about the service we received from Jake, who replaced our blades and went over and beyond to look over mower. He was very knowledgeable and informative. Great customers service!

We manage over 100 properties and I notice the clothes out tables at your store. I called my boss header come down and the lady that works in the paint department was absolutely rude had a horrible attitude so I went to the front of the store and was talking to the manager about it and some other heavy set lady, but it ended our conversation and told me that she didn't appreciate how. Just left here looking for a sprayer, walked around the entire store and no one asked to help. When I did see someone he tried to walk away before I could get to him. When I said excuse me he turned around with an attitude. Then told me to look at ACE. This is why the parking lot is always damn near empty. Will not be back and will not recommend anyone to go here.

The only person with customer service skills is Rachel. PSA...I bought a COMMERCIAL GRADE ECHO CHAINSAW. AFTER USING IT ABOUT 20 minutes they said to retighten so we did possibly to tight but I look followed the directions of the mechanic shop. The chain popped off and ruined the chain and the safety bar. THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT BACK, WILL NOT EXCHANGE IT, OR PUT IT IN Store credit! Now something that is commercial should not be able to be completely destroyed by one chain coming off. The store manager was rude and disrespectful and the employees followed suite. There return policy and procedure is BEYOND TERRIBLE. I will not be using them againDon't trust what they say get it writing. Please do not let them scam you. They acted like they did me for charging me more to, put a new chain on it and still never we are sorry this happened. Absolutely No remorse and no customer service skills at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good selection and okay prices but not very helpful staff.Its a large store with a lot of stuff but good luck if you need any help or assistance.Needed to get some long length lumber that was in the middle row. Usually do not get lumber from there but was closer to me and did not want it hanging out of my vehicle longer than necessary. Brought someone with me but could have used store help to get in down. Could not find anyone so had to stand on the lower rack of lumber and hand down to person with me. Eventually 3 workers walked by at different times including the same person twice and no one said anything or asked if I needed help, while I was standing on the stack of lumber. Apparently they are okay with customers have to stand on merchandise to reach other things.Close to wear I live is most positive thing can say.

I'm glad this store rates highly. I found most of what I needed today but needed help with paint. When I asked to paint employee he responded with a "what kind of question is that". Stunned I looked for the paint color tabs I had saved but saw they were now lost. I'm a fairly new homeowner needed exterior paint and dont know how everything works but this male employee acted liked I should of not bothered him. He was older and rather large and had to use a store stroller to get to the cash registers. I'm not sure he wanted to work or should be put with the paint area which can be physically demanding. He joined a group of employees socializing on the floor. I asked the cashier about the same paint question but she was a young girl and inexperienced. I did mention the other employee I asked treated me rudely so I wouldn't be pursuing getting paint here today since I had my kids with me and it was lunchtime too.

I walked in and was not properly greeted was attacked for my backpack because I was black a Caucasian woman was in there with her backpack and there was no questions asked they were so rude and unbecoming I decided not to spend my money there

My girlfriend and I visted this location for the first time the other day. I am going to assume they have a HUGE theft problem. We were only greeted by a plain clothed man says "What is it you're looking for?" Once I explained (a belt for a air compressor", he said "Nope, we don't have anything like that. Not here." Very rude and pushy basically telling us to leave without saying the words. We shopped around for about half hour. In that time we were constantly watched and followed. I asked an employee a question about a price on a plant, he was also rude and said "If it ain't on it then you have to go ask someone up-front." I will take my business elsewhere, if this is common treatment of customers the management needs some serious training on customer service and common hospitality.

The employees are mostly rude with the exception on a couple. This store is very inaccurate with their pricing and make a big deal out of it when you show them its either advertised lower out the tag in front of it on the shelf is lower, and I'm talking several dollars not just cents. The e.ployees seem to stand around and talk an awful lot, I mean when you press a service button yet 20 min later there are still 7 of them behind the front counter talking and doing it so much that when I walk past them and out the front doing yelling that they should pay more attention yet they don't even notice me its a bit ridiculous. Better get new management in this place or it will fail quivkly

Was surprised that the parking lot was empty except for a few cars on a Saturday morning. Several employees at front desk, met with a friendly greeting. Didn't seem to have a lot of stock and could not find any employees working the floor that were not already helping other customers. Really like the store but not sure how much longer it will be around.

The store is gloomy because of the staff. They barely greet anyone. I’m never offered assistance by anyone and whenever I do stop in since it’s only 5-minutes away the front staff appear non-interested overall. When I go it’s only out of convenience for a quick grab. Home Depot actually offers the smile, assistances and overall environment I’m accustomed too.

Sutherland shopping was incredible. I went in to buy some plants and on the way to the register, I spotted furniture. I have been wanting to buy furniture since October 2020. All the other furniture places say it will be 3 to 6 months to get items, maybe longer. Kurt checked on items I was wanting, and they will be delivered to me within 5 days.Thanks Kurt and Thanks Sarah for efficient customer service.Sutherland definitely has my business. Simply the BEST!!!!

My son and I drove to Raytown because this location had something we needed. The store is clean and well kept overall (the areas we were in) except for the outdoor garden area. It was pretty rough looking.Anyway, we found the items we needed quite easily but we needed several of one item and only a few were stocked on the shelf. We could see more stock on the rack above so we used the department call button to ask for assistance. It took a couple minutes for someone to arrive but no big deal. We looked at a couple other things while we waited. A young associate arrived just ahead of a gentlemen who looked to be the manager. They cleared the call button and we explained what we needed.Here is where things took a turn; the presumed manager gave me an incredulous look and walked over to the shelf. He asked several times what we needed. Each time I told him what it was, pointed to the last few on the shelf, and then pointed to the pallet above with many more that I was hoping someone could get down for us. He frowned and said he would have to get a forklift. I said we could wait and he frowned again as he walked away.We waited a while longer and after about 10 minutes I told my son we could leave and try another store (manager's attitude didn't sit well with me). My son talked me into waiting. Wait we did, another 5-10 minutes. Eventually the forklift came into view and the same gentleman brought down the additional stock. He did flippantly apologize for the wait but was in no hurry at any point to get the job done.Hopefully he was just having a rough day and our experience is the exception.

I really like the store and the helpful staff, but they just don't have a good selection. No wood hardener. No naval jelly for rust removal. No hot mud. No organic herbicides. I'm always driving to another store afterwards.

Sutherlands is my go-to store for home improvements and projects. Everyone is so helpful, and many are quite knowledgeable about the use of their products. I frequent this location and am always appreciative of their prices, selection, and staff. They also have a rental center for various tools and equipment you may need only short-term. Thank you all!
