Very poor location. Never an employee around to help when I visit, until I come in for something with one of my children and immediately we are asked to leave by a nasty little mustachio-ed creep accusing my child of being caught stealing on prior occasions.Amazing, they can catch children (whom are not in store without me within 5 feet) stealing, but no one appears when you're walking around clearly looking for someone.I will gladly drive a few extra minutes to visit Weston or Dearborn locations. They always have customer service and usually a much cleaner store.

This place is disgusting. I've held back my review for over a year, trying to give them a chance. It is gotten so bad, you can barely walk down the isles. Only one person works at a time. Staff can't keep up with stocking, the floors look like a back alley covered in dirt, and I vow never to return. Owner needs to shut this place down for a week to clean, hire some competent staff, and seriously reconsider their operations. Horrible!!

I didn't used to have any complaints about this store. Recently, their shelves have been empty but they have containers galore all over the store that aren't being unloaded. People could probably find what they're looking for if the store actually took the time to unload those containers. It's literally been this way for at least 2 months and I'm probably being generous. Since there isn't a Walmart in this town, maybe make it a priority to clean up the store and put your stock out. This is ridiculous at this point.

I'd give a 0, this place is such a mess, you can never find anything, shelves are never stocked. It's a shame that you have to drive 10 miles to Walmart just to get what you need. Don't know how this store is still open, it's like going into a high priced thrift store

I visit this store quite often and I must say I always have the best experience!! I was shopping for my child's birthday party and Danielle was so pleasant and helpful she went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to make his party great! Danielle , Darren & the other store clerks always have a smile on their faces the store is always clean they really makes sure that everyone walks through that door matters! Wish I could give more stars!!!! See you guys soon!!!!

service is decent and there are reasonable prices. the only thing i would criticize is the cleanliness of the store. it’s often quite dirty and dusty, and sometimes there are not enough carts. i would say they’re a bit understaffed since i have only seen 1-2 employees max working at the store. other than that, it is okay just not the best.

This is the second Saturday morning I've come to shop at this store only to find them not open. Not sure if manager had a hard time getting up on Saturday or what is going on. Like others have said there is more stock in carts than on shelves, many aisles aren't even passable because there are so many stock carts and bins. Overall the store is a mess and I never know if/when they will actually be open.

Cold spring day, transportation issues left me with 45 minutes or so to go into my favorite store. Excited, I left my 2 back packs at the counter & began what I yjought would be an enjoyable relaxing moments I love Dollar General. As I browse to the store I guess I look like a shopping as as I was asked if I was looking for something in or just shopping I replied that I had been looking for weighted blankets, which they did not have, from that point on I was watched & followed constantly. I am wearing jeans, new but with a distressed look, & a hoodie It is just my day to clean up part of the highway.I do not know what it was that made them watch me and follow me however it was so uncomfortable and so embarrassing I left the store without purchasing anything,, after I have planned on spending about $100 I will never go back to this store as it was humiliating. Shame, never had anything remotely negative to say until this. 😠😟😳

The store is consistently dirty & piles of product, needing to be put away, block the aisles. It seems there are not enough employees working during any shift. The digital coupons do not always work. Even after the cashier checked that the products and coupons were matched & correct, it still would not take off the coupon.

309 Ferrel took home a yellow cart on 10/23/2022 1:15 PM it's laying at the South lawn by the West fence "hidden" behind the trailer of there green house with the rusty roof and broken house windows. I love the store remodel by the way. ^.^

I was very disappointed! The store was not cleanz clearance items were not marked as clearance. Christmas items were not marked as clearance. The bathroom was disgusting and filthy. The staff was arguing and one girl was upset at something and was slamming her register drawer after logging in with customers right there. A young man, also an employee, was also upset at something and was rude in front of customers. It was just very uncomfortable! I don't live in this city, but am staying here for a few weeks to take care of my sister who is sick. I frequent thie The Dollar General in the scity I live in is very helpful and respectful! It is clean and shelves are stocked, with exception to truck delivery day. This was my experience in visiting the Platte City, MO Dollar General store.

I went by around 6:15 pm this evening and they had one person working and a very long line. The nice lady at the counter said there was another person, however he/she was at lunch. Need better planning at a busy time and day.

Went to take back a speaker that was never opened and was bought the day prior and store manager refused to give me my money back saying I could only exchange for the same item. Not only did this upset me but the store is horrible. Never anything in stock, empty places on every shelf, boxes stacked throughout the store, and its dirty. I would prefer to drive 20 minutes to go to another Dollar General...

Been there a few times since I moved here. The first day I bought shelf liner for my new place...all they had of design I chose. Lady said more would come in on next truck. A month later still waiting. Lol...however they are nice enough staff I would go here again.

I bought 3 six-packs of Diet Dr. Pepper. On the shelf, it said they were 3 for $8. They rang up 3 for $9. I had to explain to the cashier that it was wrong. She said "well, that is before taxes". I then asked her to look at the subtotal and explained that the subtotal is before taxes. She then asked where I saw that it was 3 for $8, and I said "it's listed on the shelf". She went to look at the shelf and came back and said "that's an out-of-date price strip". I tried to explain that it is false advertising, but she didn't get it!!! Very frustrating and disappointing visit!!!

This store is always a mess. There are boxes in the isles and no room for your carts. They are always out of products and it is very dirty inside. There is only one cashier most of the time and it takes forever to get through the lines. We only go if we have to because it is cheaper in town.

This would be a great place if there were enough staff to get things out of boxes and stocked. I buy items regularly. But many times, the shelf is empty and boxes are stacked everywhere. No staff to ask because they are busy checking out. Getting through aisles is difficult because of stacked boxes. This place needs help to get products unpacked and on the shelf.No light bulbs? Empty shelves. Get them some help and bring it up to being READY for shopping. Going to Walgreens because I can't find anything I need.

One staff member small isles conveyer belt didn't work and staff expected me to know that... I have never stepped foot in that store before. Wishing it had been a better trip but i was in a hurry and waiting in line for 15 minutes was really hard.

Very handy little store when you don't want to mess with the big box Walmart's, targets excetera. It may just be me but I feel that this or should be a little beer the Isles are very close together and there are a lot of disheveled areas. And sometimes they seem understaffed. But I got the job done.

Our local Dollar General, at times understaffed. The store has become more clean and organized recently which I greatly appreciate. We will buy our milk and other essential items here at a discount from the larger stores.

Nice little store. I was impressed by the wide range of merchandise from clothing to exercise equipment, home medicine and cleaning supplies. The aisles are kinda tight in places because they have packed so much in here.

This store has went down hill so bad. Everytime you go in this store it looks like a tornado hit it. They never have anything that you need and the workers are about as ghetto as they come. This is Platte city people have some class not the inter city. I would rather go to Price chopper and pay double then waste my time in this store. Where is the corp. they need to get it together before it closes its doors #coming soon

Great little store! Love the coupons, but make sure you add them to.the app BEFORE you go into the store...you won't get a signal lol. The workers are great are always eager to help.

This has to be one, if not the, worst Dollar General I have shopped at. It is extremely dirty, unorganized, and merchandise is rarely in stock. The customer service as well as the management is horrible. There is a huge turnover of emoloyees that are not properly trained, are far from friendly or welcoming, and there is always discrepancies with my receipt. Don't waste your time downloading the store app on your phone because you cannot open it from inside the store because you cannot get access to their WiFi or manage to get a connection with a 4G network so you cannot view your shopping list, coupons, or circulars. Which brings me back to the receipts...most of the time the amount of savings from the digital receipts do not get removed from your purchase and/or there is some excuse as to why they are not valid. After over an hour of shopping last time and getting ready to pay at the only register open, none of my coupons were valid and with no manager in sight for the employee to get help from, a mounting line if frusterated customers, I left everything and walked out as well as about 4 other people. I will not be back in there until some improvements are made if at all.

It says to describe my experience so here it is. I worked here for nearly a year. I loved it in the beginning. It was awesome. I had to work my way up as some of the other people did who worked there before me. I started out as a sales associate then became a keyholder and after a week of being a keyholder I became Assistant Store Manager. I worked hard, showed up when I needed to, came into work when others called in, worked doubles if someone didn't show or called in.We had najor turn arounds after my first manager left. It just wasn't the same or fun. I worked 10 to 12 days straight. Which is ILLEGAL to do. I'm still waiting on my vacation time to be given to me since I left. Nothing.Now they're hiring people 8 an hour instead of 7.65. Like I said, I had to work my way up. They let the sales associates when they are running register just sit there when me and the others walked away and did what we had to do to keep the store up and stocked while with customers.They had me and one of my past co workers running register when we were supposed to be on the floor stocking, throwing freight and ect. They let new people come in and stock everything in wrong spots, throw full boxes on the floor (which if someone trips it's on the companies ass.) They have product on the floor which is totally NOT OKAY and unsafe for employees AND customers.I got exhausted with just standing at the register when I knew my job was to put product out, make sure everything is in the right spot, help customers when needed and help my cashier on my shift out.This store needs more then just two people working at night and day. I get that this store is short handed but get others in from other stores. I tried to stick it out but couldn't. I didn't give notice cause I was done not being acknowledged.

I am glad to have the store in town. But usually boxes everywhere blocking aisles. Empty shelves and out of products I shop for. It is getting worse with one person there and a big mess. Getting tired of it. Ready to go somewhere else..Barry Road ugh

It's always easy to find what I need here. I usually know exactly what I'm getting so it's an in and out stop and hardly ever a long wait. Sometimes it feels as though the store is bursting at the seams and they handle it well.

Bad selection. They have giant empty spaces on their shelves and have very little compared to ANY other Dollar General I have been to. The prices are good like any other one but the lack of selection makes this store not worth the visit.
