Rick, from Big Thunder at Glen Cove, is an excellent service advisor! I brought him a problem that several marinas had been unwilling or unable to adjudicate. He took care of it quickly and efficiently at a very fair price. The work was equally well done and my boat looks great because of it.

I recently purchased a used 2020 Grady White from Big Thunder Marine. The sales and finance was fantastic. They made the purchase process easy. The service department did an excellent job of performing some service and repairs in a timely manner. Both the sales and service departments at Big Thunder Marine have been great to work with, and have been excellent with consistent and timely communication. The entire team I've worked with from top to bottom has provided above and beyond customer service. Blake and Michelle made sure our delivery day went off without a hitch and ensured we had a great experience, even with an early February delivery! Our service manager Rick has also excelled with detailed responses to any warranty related items we've asked about. Just a top notch operation all around!

We had a great time on our boat rental. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. After renting boats from other parts of the lake over the last few years, I was happy to find this place less than a mile from my house. Compared to those previous rentals at other places, it was also nice to have a newer model there at Glencove, with nice comfortable seating and equipment that worked properly. The only bummer of our day was that we rented from the website for the time frame of 10-6 and when we got there we were told that they close at 5, so we had to shorten our day. They had asked if anyone had called, but noone had. Had I talked to someone ahead of time we would have moved our time up to get a full 8 hours on the water. They promptly refunded us for the hour, so I can't complain. This didn't affect our day, because we still had a great time, I just wish that the booking part of their website reflected their actual hours,We will definitely be back again and again.

I have been looking for a year to find someone who can service our boat. We were at another marina and they refused to work on our boat because it was not their brand. When I first reach out to Scott and explained to him what was going on he said let’s bring it in and take a look at it. Once we had the boat towed over Scott and Gail were in constant communication with us letting us know what issues they were finding with he vessel. They were able to get us back in the water and now the boat runs better than we had purchased it at. I could not say enough about all of their personal and how welcoming and friendly everyone is. They have made me a forever customer. Thank you

Big Thunder at Glencove Marina just completed a repair of my Mastercraft X46. They did a fantastic job! The boat unfortunately developed a cracked ballast tank that required splitting the deck from the hull to replace the bad port stern hard tank. The starboard stern hard tank was also replaced preemptively after careful consideration and discussions. Prior to proceeding I felt I had to hear from Mastercraft that this was the right action. Mastercraft confirmed this was the correct action to take and that Big Thinder was the place to have the job completed. They certainly were correct. I was anxious about this repair. The whole team at.Big Thunder was very responsive to my concerns and questions. When I took the boat in the job was completed in 3 days time. The boat is back and as good as new. Nearly 1 year ago I posted a review stating "Excellent service. Very friendly, very timely.", sadly, I now feel it is only right to post another review warning people about their service department. Be careful! I have run into issues with the service department to the point I truly believe they do a small service (i.e. winterize, summerize, etc.), then intentionally leave something not done so you will shortly be back for another service call. This happened to me this summer with with valves being left closed and being told there weren't any valves that I needed all new impellers instead, or being told they wouldn't do a dock service because I needed a complete milestone service (though they did charge me for the dock call to tell me that, then when I spoke with a service manager he agreed they had already done all the items for that recommended service except one or two things and said he wouldn't have the service done if it were him). After the impeller debacle, which I went ahead and had them replace as they had recommended, their service driver parked the boat too far forward and lifted the boat out of the water with the prop sitting on the boat lift crossbar severely bending two of the blades. He denied doing this, so Big Thunder refused to fix it and I ended up having to get it fixed myself by Cool Breeze Marine.Bottom line, don't trust Big Thunder's service department!! They are like the shady auto mechanic that will intentionally leave the drain plug loose after an oil change, or show you a pan with metal shavings in it and tell you you need a new transmission.

Rent with them, without any hesitation! Not only are they much more competitive then BomBay, but their customer service far outshines them! We rented a beautiful pontoon today for 6 hours. Ken did an amazing job of setting us up with instructions on how to use it. The entire staff was amazing. It was a totally stress-free transaction with them!

The boat looked real nice, but we started taking on water in the front two different times and it was very scary. I had my grandkids on there. Something was definitely wrong with it. We took it back half way through because I was afraid to keep it. Was disappointed they didn't have another boat for us to take. Also they charged me for 3 1/2 hours we had it. Guess would have thought we could have got a little more of a credit, since it wasn't our fault. We went back the next day and one of the guys said there was something seriously wrong, but it got fixed. Just glad everyone was safe and it didn't turn out worse. Rented Jet skis the next day and they were awesome! No problems with anything.

I purchased a cruiser at Big Thunder recently. I’ve dealt with many boat dealers and their service departments in my life and this marine dealer is one of the top, if not the best, that I’ve ever dealt with. Ed in sales was prompt, professional, friendly and so helpful.Jeremy in service went above and beyond to explain all he could do and then went above again to do it. Everyone I’ve dealt with at Big Thunder is responsive, helpful and friendly. It’s a breath of fresh air in today’s world!

Went on a Labor Day trip to celebrate a family member’s birthday. Was not offered insurance on our rental, even considering the busy weekend. A wave came over the front of the boat (pictured) and now I am being gouged nearly $5000. Seems like a straightforward panel replacement, fencing was not impacted. Would not recommend renting or doing business with this establishment. Customers are not put first, opportunity and company profitability are.

We needed a switch for our westerbeke generator for our 550 Sundancer. Marine max didn’t have one, and multiple other places didn’t call us back.As soon as I called year they answered the phone, gave them the part -# they said they had two in stock and I said I was on my way. I walk in, they have waiting on the counter for me, and I pay and leave- one of the most painless parts departments experiences I have ever had. Will definitely use them again for any future part needs for our generator. It’s clear to see why they do so well here at the lake- great, easy customer service, fair prices, and the each staff member I dealt with was professional and courteous.

We've rented from here two years in a row and have had great service. Love renting from this place. We did have an issue with one of the jet skis on our way back returning them but it was still running fine so I just kept on the way back. The manager got a little twisted with my Wife about not stopping and calling them right away which was a bit inappropriate. I would have preferred him talking to me once I got the Jet Ski up on the lift and with a little nicer tone. He settled down fairly quickly though.

We had a great experience with Big Thunder Marina this weekend. The pontoon boat we rented exceeded our expectations. We had so much fun tubing as well. The staff were helpful and informative, not a super friendly group, it’s a marina not Disneyland lol. We will rent from Jay again when we return, he answered all of our questions (and I had a lot).

As a St. Louis native, I’ve been a patron of the lake since my childhood and over the past 10 years, my wife and I have made it our second home. Back in 2006 we bought a small cruiser from Big Thunder and had a wonderful experience with the sales team and loved the boat for many years. Although we talked about it for several years, this winter we decided to move to something newer even though we haven’t sold our current boat. We had no idea what we wanted, and at that point, boat shopping became a very stressful effort.We stopped in the performance center and family boat center multiple times to look at boats listed and ask questions. We realized that not knowing what kind boat we wanted was not helpful for a salesperson, but regardless we were treated well every time. We ended up working with Ed Champion as a couple of the boats we expressed interest in were performance models. Ed was very patient with us and forthcoming with information about the boats we looked at. I sent lists of questions and requests about the boat multiple times to Ed and your service department, and received prompt detailed responses every time. The experiences we had with other dealerships was certainly not the same. When it came to discussing issues with a used boat, they came with an As-Is/ Take it or leave it/ We don’t care attitude. This was certainly not the case at Big Thunder.I must also commend your service department, as I know this is a very busy part of the season when every customer want to be first in line. Ed and the service team had most of the issues addressed within a week and we were ready to move forward.Fast forward to this weekend’s closing date, and I do mean fast. Barb had all our information ready and we were done with the paperwork in approximately 30 minutes. We expected a lengthy process that would seem like hours because we were so anxious about picking up our new boat. She shook our hands and said congratulations and we just stood there for a minute thinking there’s no way we could be done already.It’s been 20 years since I bought my first little runabout. I’ve spent countless days wandering through showrooms, boat shows, and marinas over the years. In recent years, we’ve gotten a less than gracious treatment from many of the dealerships around the lake when we decided to look at something of interest. We often walked out feeling like they thought we were wasting their time and didn’t even receive follow-up calls when we requested additional information from the sales personnel and left our contact information. This shopping and purchasing experience with Big Thunder brought me back to the personal customer relationship feeling we had with Bob Morgan and his group over a decade ago, which I thought was now lost at Lake of the Ozarks.I would like to commend you on the professionalism of your staff and anticipate relying on Big Thunder Marine for our future boating needs. They all went the extra step to make sure my wife and I were comfortable with our decision. I have already started bragging of my experience and will continue to do so when we are out on the lake with family and friends this summer.Thank you Big Thunder Marine.

Rented a tri-Toon boat on Saturday. The staff was very friendly and helpful.. We were disappointed we could not get the Bluetooth to link up with our phone, speedometer did not work and the boat looked like it had seen its better days. Seats really need to be cleaned really well, looked like mildew on them. Despite these deficiencies in the boat we had a fantastic day on the water.

We had a decent experience with the boat rental. Renting our tritoon was easy, but the boat wasn't in the best condition when we went to pick it up. The radio didn't work, one of the entry doors to the boat didn't close properly (causing some water to come in a couple times), and the water mat connector was broken (fortunately our captain tied it in a knot so we could use it!).We were due back at 6pm, and I got a call at 6:01 saying we were late. The water was super choppy so our captain was taking his time navigating the water safely. The manager scolded me when we got back about 10 minutes later which was a bit annoying given the condition of the boat and that we were hardly late.I was with a group of 10 girls for a bachelorette party, and there was ample space for all of us and our food/drinks. We enjoyed spending time in a quiet part of the lake and the boat was convenient to get to some of the fun party areas in LOZ. We also stayed at a cabin near the rental place so that was very nice too. However I don't know that I would rent from this same location again.

Went for some basic annual maintenance on a 12 yr old outboard. They luckily found a cracked oil pump I wasn’t aware of. Glad they found it then instead having an on-water breakdown. Best outboard mechanics on the water.
