All of the people saying this is a puppy mill, there are bad conditions, etc. have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.We added Carlos to our family a little under a year ago, and I remembered the first time we came into look for a new pup. All of the puppies were playful, energetic, and the spaces were all clean.When we decided on Carlos, Joy took a lot of time to cover care, feeding, and some of the things we might encounter in the first 3-6 months.The care she puts into their care is obvious, and we are coming here if we get another. As for the most important part of this story, here are before and after pics of the most perfect pup we could have hoped for.

We went in not knowing what we wanted. We had researched a little on some dogs but, Harvey chose us. We were not looking to buy right away but, this guy wasn't letting us leave without him and he is one of the best decisions we have made. Harvey is an Aussie Doodle weighing in at 43lbs. He is very healthy, happy and spoiled. We had a very good experience with the Puppy Stop store.

Bought one dog here, visit occasionally, now not coming back. This place has gone down hill dramatically in the last year. It was a presentable store when we bought our Shih Tzu in 2014 (free of health issues so far but his father and grandfather are on in the same so that's shady breeding). We visited most recently in October of 2018 and are appalled by the appearance of the shop. It looks like a mill that now borders on animal cruelty. The puppies are all crying and many climbing over each other to move. Others tell me dogs here frequently display kennel cough. The floors are filthy - covered in urine and feces. They use paper pads that are each several feet square but are far too infrequently changed. One was literally completely soaked in urine. The place wreaks. There's been no attention paid to upkeep and it shows. Again, we bought here once but I feel we got lucky. We're staying well clear from now on.

Bought my puppy from them about 4 years ago and they were beyond nice. My puppy ended up having a genetic knee problem from being bred so small but he is the light of my world! He has the best personality and is cute as can be! The shop offered to replace him with another dog or pay for half of the knee surgery but my puppy ended up not needing it. They were great about the whole situation. I would recommend!

Our poochon is smart, cute and healthy. We purchased her and a Teddy Bear while on vacation and they are both amazing. Our local Vet had zero concerns about her health. Smart as a whip too!

A lot of cute (small breed) puppies that you get to interact with. I stopped in for the serotonin boost, so I didn't ask any of the serious questions about the breeds and integrity of the breeders. Super cute shop.

Love this puppy stop. Best around. Favorite place to get a toy size pup. I have two Maltese pups and weight 3-4 ibs. And they are non shed.

Please do not shop. Missouri has the worst breeding laws and is known for puppy mills. I have heard stories from people getting dogs from this place. They neuter their dogs way too early and mark them down. My shitzu came from this place, given to us by a neighbor.

we had our dog sitting in our vehicle windows rolled down, water in a cup, and the what they didn’t know is we have a portable air conditioner under our seat incase of emergency that we turn on for him. they erupted us looking at the puppies because we were going to get a puppy and bring our dog in to check them out as well once we asked if we could do that. we weren’t even in the shop for more than 4 minutes before they said how dog is panting in our vehicle which like i mentioned up above it would be impossible if less he’s sitting underneath the glass window that the sun shines through. that’s my review that they are rude people and also scuffed as we walked out.

Have purchased three puppies from here over the last 15 years and recommended to several friends who have also purchased. I first bought from her kennel before she had the store on Hwy 54, both locations have always been clean and dogs well cared for. She always promptly answered my questions and concerns (no matter how silly) when I would email. Appreciate the pride she takes in her dogs and also the service after the sale.

The people who work in the store were really inattentive not only to potential customers, but seem to be toward the puppies as well. She seems reluctant to provide information of the puppies origins. There are several breeds of puppies available here. She only referred to "the kennel." The wire haired terrier born in May was ill and vomiting phlegm. Some of the puppies had diarrhea, as evidenced by the paper under the cages. Reputable and responsible breeders would charge more than what is being asked for these puppies. Do not buy from an establishment on the side of the highway. Do not buy from a place that doesn't have mom and dad on site. Do not buy from a place when you can't be sure of living conditions and breeding practices. This place is suspiciously a front for a puppy mill. The only way to stop puppy mills is to quit supporting them. Adopt. Don't Shop.

We purchased an F1b goldendoodle (goldendoodle + poodle) and she is amazing! We have yet to see any health issues from when we purchased her in February 2018. She has a good temperament, was easy to train, and is great around all ages of people. Puppy Stop takes great care of their puppies and are very cooperative with customers! If you’re looking for a puppy, I highly recommend stopping here and taking a look!

12 weeks ago we put deposit down on a Golden Doodle. Never heard back. Thought we would be getting in August. Reached out via text, because “Joy” won’t accept phone calls. Found out we have to wait until September for our puppy. 8 weeks ago received a picture of our pup after inquiring on the status. Joy said the next time she can provide pictures would be in 5 weeks. Odd, right?! When we received 5 week pics after inquiring, received a totally different dogs picture. Odd, right?! Joy told me “she’s tiny” (4.1 oz.). She said she will be going for vet visit on Wednesday. On Wednesday texted her wanting to know how visit went. Said she weighed 3.1 oz. we made the right decision to forego buying from her. We actually went to see the puppy on the day we had an appointment to pickup. We were close to buying her because it’s hard to walk away when you hold and love them. Puppy weighed in on their scale at 2 lbs 3/4 oz. Something clearly going on with weight loss. Felt I had been fed stories all along. Karen, who was there to sell us the dog was nice and refunded our money, but clearly had a mission to sell us the pup and had excuses to protect the dishonesties we experienced. I would stay clear of Puppy Stop. Believe you are supporting Puppy Mills with this store. You should be able to follow the birth and choose your puppy and follow them until you pickup.

My husband bought me a adorable shitzu poodle. He is so different from having pugs. He has tons of energy but also loves to rest with me. He loves hiding bones everywhere in my house. I find bones in my handbags. He is so sweet and funny. He has changed my life. I’m thinking about getting him another puppy in the future.

The Puppy stop is conveniently located and have a good variety of puppies.It is clean environment. The staff was nice and helpful, and looked clean as well. If they don't have the type of breed you are looking for, from what I understand they can help you locate that type for you as well, which I thought was nice & helpful.

I called puppy stop since my friend purchased goldendoodle from them. They told me that they had a litter that was going to be born end of May 2017 for pick up end of July 2017. I paid deposit and was patiently waiting for my puppy. They promised they will call as soon as puppies are born. They never did! I kept calling early June but they didn't know if puppies were born yet or not. June 15 I reached out to the owner and got an email back finally. She cold as a stone said " Mom got infection and the whole litter died" She also said she didn't know if they were going to have one in few weeks or not. She didn't even know if the mom was pregnant in mid June for a letter end of June. Super strange!!! I can't but a puppy from them since I don't want to have a puppy from breeder where one more already infected her whole litter with something, I don't even know what. I kindly apologized and I said that I want my deposit back since I will not take that kind of risk and I never heard from them. Be very careful! I would never buy a puppy here since there is a source of infection. And they don''t deliver on their promise. They don't give information and it is really suspicious to me where those dogs come from since they don't know much about them :(

Please do your research before getting a dog from the Puppy Stop. I was naive and did not and now have a dog that I love unconditionally but I believe to be the victim of poor upbringing prior to me purchasing him. He has extreme aggression and pancreatic issues. I have been nothing but loving and responsible with him. I have spent thousands of dollars on veterinary care and behavioral modification but I can’t help but think that Joy Thomas aka Thomas Kennels is more concerned about money than the long term health and well being of the animals they handle. Dogs being kept in a store like this is not healthy. All dogs need love but I don’t feel comfortable with how this store and the breeders they partner with operate.

Am very happy with the little puppy i pick up he a great little dog plays well with my other dogKim was great help. With getting him i just called and gave a deposit pick him up the following weekend. He was 4.1 lbs at 3mo now he is 6.1 lbs and just under 4mo

Expensive but adorable designer, low- or no-shed, hypoallergenic puppies like teddy bear, morkie, schnauzer, and golden doodle. Love to visit and help socialize the puppies but be careful - they are wiggly and you don't want to cause a terrible accident.

We bought Bailey, a Teddy Bear (Bichon Frise - Shih Tzu), a little over a year ago from this place and we get so many compliments about how cute he is and what a good-looking dog he turned out to be!He is such a good dog...and so extremely smart! Very easily he learned how to "sit," "lay down," "stay," "fetch," etc. and I have some health problems so he is now in training to become a service dog! That is just how smart he is! Other than a few allergies that we have figured out he has to chicken and grass, he is has been a wonderful dog! Any dog can develop allergies, so we may just have to put him on Apoquel if the itching doesn't stop. But we just love him to death, and would definitely buy another puppy from here! Everybody keeps asking if he is Pedigree! (And he would be if it weren't for the mix of his two breeds). Thank you for such a quality puppy!

I loved this place until my beloved dog got diagnosed last month with Addisons disease. It is treatable but I've spent thousands already and found its hereditary. Which means the entire litter will have this. One of the parents have it so I pray they no longer breed the parents.

Can’t believe a puppy store even exists when most puppies come from puppy mills these days. I’d be hesitant to buy a dog from anywhere like this until I was sure all animals involved were being treated humanely. There are plenty of dogs that need homes at the many shelters in the area. Save your money and adopt a dog in need vs funding the need to create more puppies for $$$$.
