If you have a hardware need, this Ace can probably meet it. Their variety of items is impressive given the small footprint of the store. They maybe play into their "helpful hardware store" motto a bit too much. We had four people ask us if we needed help in a span of twenty minutes. I guess I'd rather have help than employees that pretend you don't exist, though.Definitely check them out if you need something.

Ace Hardware Westlake employees are some of the best!! As soon as you walk in the door they ask if they can help you find something. I was helped by a gentleman, Fred, who helped you figure out all the details of my project. It was one of my best experiences at a hardware store. And I got all of the parts I needed the first time!! Thank you Fred

I’ve been coming to this location for years. I arrived today at 10:00 am and the store was not busy. I got to the checkout line with my items and realized I’d left my coupon in the car. I asked the person running the till if I could grab it from my car. He could have said no, or he could have asked if he could hold the items to the side while I ran to get it so that the one person in line behind me could check out. But I instead he said “ yes, be quick please because I don’t know how long this is gonna take me”. I obviously wasn’t going to take my time. I’m not a rude person. I went quickly to m car which was right outside and grabbed the coupon and was back within about 30 seconds. He finished checking me out and then apologized to the person behind me for the wait. There was no wait??? Like it would have taken the same time as if I’d had one or two more things to check out? It’s not like I left for minutes and dragged my feet. It was awkward for me and the other customer who wasn’t bothered at all. The team member’s name was Zachary. I’m sure this was just a one time issue because I’ve never had a bad experience at this location before. But geeze Louise what an unnecessary rude moment.

Great store. Staff here is always helpful. They have almost everything a big box store has but due to ther size sometimes selection is limited.

There's always someone around willing to answer any questions or point me in the right direction. Everyone is friendly and the store is never too crowded. LOVE this place!!

So friendly and eager to help. We really like our local walk-to hardware store. Most bought: Deer and mosquito repellent, specialty lightbulbs (like under the microwave), yard tools, and hummingbird juice.

I came into Westlake Ace Hardware with my assistance dog and it was one of the most helpful and welcoming experiences I've had. Everyone was super nice and offered to arrange to get my items take to my car for me. I was greeted right away and the service was really fast as well. I'm so happy I went there. I never felt slighted or unwelcome. What a great experience!!! :)

I was pleasantly surprised they had everything I needed to finish one of my projects. I didnt even check ahead of time and they had everything I needed to prepare and clear coat some raw aluminum parts. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, except that guy that didnt say hi to me when I said hi.

Not only do they have almost anything you’d need for your home renovation project, but the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Even though we came half hour before closing and asked for paint samples, they got it for us and didn’t rush us. My mom now thinks it then as her home renovation consultants.

What an unbelievably helpful store. Ask for Shelby. He's one of the managers. He's passionate about trying to help his customers. This is the best hardware store I've ever visited. They've made a loyal customer out of me!

Very clean and well organized store. The prices are marked higher than the prices you would see elsewhere. I had a rewards discount coupon, so I said to myself with the discount that at least I will be saving a little bit by not having to pay the full price that's marked on the shelf. At checkout, the item rung up for the price on the shelf, but a discount was applied before I had them use my rewards coupon. The recipe stated the item sail price was something different than what the item was listed for. With my rewards discount applied, I only had to pay out of pocket less than two dollars. I studied my recipe closely to see what had just transpired. Now, don't get me wrong, I was very thankful for my savings. What I don't get is why was the item on the shelf marked higher than what it rung up for? The item was not marked on sale on the shelf. If it's to show how great a deal I received or how much I've saved, there's a chance that I would have never known. The reason is that I budget shop a lot. I compare pricing from store to store what items are listed for. You know, like what Home Depot ,Menards, Lows, so on and so forth. If Ace prices are listed higher than the competitor, but in actually are set to ring up cheaper or at least competitive. How would a budget shopping person know this ? They don't and they won't , so they wind up driving past Ace Hardware to someplace else whose price reflects what they see and can determine whether or not they want to spend that amount. If listed that it's on sale even the better. If you see customers come in, but leave out without the item they were shopping for, it could be the price on the shelf pushed them to continue shopping around. In actuality, if the price reflected the true cost up front, many people would decide to spend the little difference in pricing for convenience sake than to be pushed on because of sticker shock. 🤔

When I went in, there was an employee at the front who was playing on his phone. He did manage to ask what I wanted, and pointed me to aisle 24, where Ace did not have anything remotely resembling what I wanted. The front employee said he would send someone over, but he failed to do so, being to engrossed with his phone. Since I was invisible to the groups of ither employees, I did try to ask them for assistance, but they were too busy discussing personal things. They completely ignored me.I went to Lowe's. Not a Lowe's person, myself, but it was nearby. No one greeted me when I went in, but 3 employees there took time to help me find what I needed. Since I was already there, I also purchased some things I had planned to buy at Handyman for later use.The differences between the stores are very telling in how each chain values customers--or not.

Was in store Monday 3/6 to get a replacement chainsaw chain. Was needing assistance with getting correct replacement chain. Went to back counter area and waited my turn in line to be helped. When it was my turn at the counter I told the associate that I was needing help picking out the correct chainsaw chain. He asked if I could give him a minute to finish up what he was doing. I said sure and I'll meet him in the chainsaw isle. I waited in the isle and even walked over to to other side of the isle and looked at shovels. He never showed up. I got tired of waiting and thought I will just buy it somewhere else. I walked to the front door and as I got closer to the door the associate was standing up front talking to someone else. I walked right past him he never said a word to me. I think he was the only person working the store. I went to Lowes and with in a few minutes was meet by a store associate and hand the correct chainsaw chain I needed. I thanked Nate at Lowes for his assistance.

Friendly place. Small, but they had a better O ring selection than Home Depot or Menards, so they've got stuff. Their people are more knowledge too.

Ordered some keys. I came up to get them programmed… only 1 person knows how and they’re off for a week. Doesn’t help one bit and very frustrating!!!Only reason why it’s not a 1 star is because of the friendly staff!

I was helped promptly by the lady at the paint section. She helped me order an out of stock item online and then took me to all the sections I needed in the store. She was very friendly and very helpful. I bought half a dozen assorted items I needed at decent prices and was in and out within 20 minutes. I had a wonderful experience and I'm super happy to support a business known for ethical practices!

I don't go here a whole lot, but when I do they always have what I need and at decent prices. Most recently we bought sleds for the snow that never came LOL, before that a leaf blower, sand for our toddlers toy box, a few other things. Never had a problem, always friendly and helpful staff.

I tried them for the first time since they carry a brand of fertilizer that I prefer and is not carried by most stores. The staff was friendly, nice selection of stuff, and the prices were fairly good. The only downside is that some things were very easy to find while other things were much more difficult. Obviously, this could be because it was my first time there, but the store did not seem to have a good flow to it at least for me. I would recommend them, but would also recommend that you ask for assistance if you are have trouble finding something unless you are familiar with the store.

This is a great hardware store serving the Maryland Heights community. They may not have all the stuff like Home Depot / Lowes, but they have enough of the essentials that I can make a quick run by here to get what I need. For example, I once needed a random bolt, washer and nut to replace the ones broken from a package I received. I found it here. Not only that, I asked someone to help me find it because I was unfamiliar with the system. They did a great job and was very friendly.I must mention again how friendly the store is. It makes a big difference, and I try to buy what I need here when I can. The prices are also competitive with the big stores too.

I needed to get a couple spare keys made for our cars. The older key was no problem but the newer key, I assumed required the dealership to make since its contained the anti-theft chip. The Ford Dealership was going to charge me nearly $300 and needed my car for 1/2 a day to do the work!In passing, I mentioned this to the Ace Hardware employee and she very politely told me they could do it! She took my information and within 3 days, I received a call from their GM, Joe, who told me he had my key and when I could bring the car by for him to do the work?On the morning I was free, I stopped by in the 98 degree heat and with a smile, Joe had me all set up in the store to make the key and out on the parking lot to program it to my car. Within 10 minutes I was back on the road to work! What was even more amazing, was the entire cost (including a new battery for my key fob that they put in for me) was less than hundred dollars before tax!Amazing! Go by and see your local Ace Hardware. You will not be disappointed. thx Mark
