They were Awesome , loved it . Enjoyed the clean great smelling bathhouse . Everything was very clean , stocked, acommidating. The staff was polite , friendly , and helpful. The float was fun and refreshing . The Pool was my favorite , the water was cold and clean . My family and I have been going to Black River Lodge for many, many years now. The first time I experienced this place was when my mother was pregnant with me. I was born in 1995 and ever since July of 1996-2015 I have gone to BRL every year. I missed year 2016 due to moving and having my own family, but this year, 2017, I plan on going again. This is my favorite place to spend time with family and friends. I love the atmosphere and everyone around it. The river is fun and fresh and the pool, at times, is nice and warm and not too cold. Very nice to take young children too who are sensitive to cold water. I have recommend this place to many people and hope that they try it out. I give this 5 stars!!!

Best vacation spot ever! I'm 31 and my mother had been coming here since she was in kindergarten. This year I brought my first child and he is loving it! Extremely kid friendly but just as adult friendly. Cost includes lodging, three delicious meals a day and activities. They also have a huge beach where we spend all afternoon. If you enjoy spending time outside and don't want to have to worry about what you're eating or when, you're in the right place!

Great place for any family. Activities for all each day. Meals served at 8, 12, and 5. I love bringing my family every year! The other guests become like family as you continue to visit the same week every year! It's located on a private lot that is only accessible for BRL guests.

We love this place! The Ries family really love what they do. They have planned activities for the whole family. We enjoy this vacation every year and have been coming down for almost 10 years in a row. Most relaxing part of my year!

Best family oriented place to stay near the black river. People who go there end up coming back every year. In many cases people have returned with family members 50+ years in a row. An awesome experience.

I have been going here for years. Our 5 children love this place and they talk about it all year. It is a perfect family vacation to spend quality time together and get away from the video games, constant text messaging and snap-o-grams.

The BEST Cabin camping on the river in Missouri PERIOD! food is provided and pretty good! Plus you meet new friends every time! Staff is like family and treats you the same. Also this place is AWESOME for kids and SAFE! No one that comes down ever leaves Unhappy!!

Life moves at a more realxed pace here 🙂 You get 3 delicious meals a day, served family style. The cabins are clean, tidy, and cozy. You can play in the river, practice archery, challenge a friend to shuffle board, swim in the pool, or just chill in your cabin or the rec hall. It's not a place with lots of frills, but if you're looking for a laid back, friendly, simple getaway, this is the place!

The atmosphere of black River Lodge is what I expect being so far away from big cities. Family style dinners, community bon fires, games and events. The river is close for floating, with plenty to do on rainy days. I came here last and I was 8. 20 years later it's everything I remember and more.

My family has been visiting Black River Lodge for many years. The food is great and they provide you with ample portions. The rooms are cabin style, not huge but spacious enough for a family. The location is a bit off the beaten path but that just adds to the charm.

Black River Lodge is located on the most picturesque part of the Black River. Emerald green pools are great for swimming with a crystal clear water you can see down and watch the fish. This is the best location on the Black River for family to relax and enjoy a sunny summer day.

Was a really neat place and black river is right next to it! I will go back to black river waaaay before current or meramac any day! No cops every corner hassling you so one can actually enjoy a vacation! Also the river is very clear and clean

Black River Lodge is a retro style resort with various cabins for rent like a hotel. Wifi, air conditioning (in the form of window units), and full bathrooms are included. My cabin was the Thrush and had two beds. The whole cabin had two "rooms" with a partition that could he deadbolted. Meals are family style with an assigned table each time and breakfast, lunch, and dinner (as much as you can eat) is served. There are a few planned activities, along with a pool, and there are inner tubes for rent to float on the river. My group goes every year to unplug so we only used phones for GPS and cameras, so while there was wifi, I did not use it. We had a great time and the staff is super friendly!

The weather wasnt cooperaring, but the staff made some fun in the rec hall! We had a dance and games....thekids had a blast! There is always something to do BRL😝

This is a nice place. It was kind of expensive and the tandem kayak was not the greatest but all in all it was a good experience. The water is very clear

The staff is very nice and the activities are very fun as well. Only downside is that it is pretty expensive, however food is included so that makes it a little better.
