Pretty area with a beautiful wooden boardwalk. It's a very green and peaceful place. Good exercise too

We enjoyed camping for a weekend in the state park. There was an attentive campground host and the campground is well maintained. You also have easy access to the Boardwalk Loop Trail just down the hill from the campground.Restrooms: Very clean restrooms and separate rooms for showers.

The park host is wonderful, and the bathrooms are clean. The shower house is clean and actually has hot water. Great fishing, and it's beautiful. It's one of the best state parks that I've been to in the country!!! Definitely will go back!

What a surprise to see a boardwalk hiding in the wetland. It is so reclusive that I did run into anybody there. Walking on the wood boards, listening to the sound of nature, watching wild life in the woods, freeing minds, and letting yourself engulf by the nature.

Great little park with some awesome trails. I really liked the boardwalk trail. The campground is small but well maintained. Electric only but has water filling and a dump. The dump area is tight for a 30 ft trailer but maneuverable. Fairly level sites. Restroom and shower rooms are very clean.

Unfortunately, due to our physical limitations, we couldn't hike the boardwalk, so we weren't able to see what I've read are the best parts of this park. The areas of the park we were able to see were nice, but there's no swimming allowed in any of the park's four small lakes. My dog Lacey wasn't happy about that, but we did find a water spigot to help her cool off.

Stayed here traveling through Missouri 9/21/2021. What a little gem of a park. Quiet, sites are pretty flat, and not crowded. Beautiful walking areas and plenty of room between sites. The main portion for RVs was uncluttered (20 sites or so) and then there is another sections for tents. Our site, 13, was quite long big enough for a 40' Class A. We have a 24' Class C with a toad and did not have to unhitch.Better cell coverage up the hill from where we were. Yes, you can hear the highway but it's nearly 3/4 mile away so it's not overbearing. A really nice stay. Cash only - no cards on site. Definitely worth the stop.

Great park with a number of very well maintained trails and overlooks. Campground had plenty of fairly private sites. Would love to see the vault toilets get an update, but overall the facilities were in good shape.

We camped here for Labor Day Weekend. Between fishing, hiking, and the hot air balloon festival, it was delightful. So beautiful. Fellow campers were courteous, and the scenery was lush and verdant. We plan to come back!

Beautiful park well kept nice campground . boardwalk goes threw the woods along the creek and threw the grasslands .. believe they may be moving the covered bridge to inside the park at some point in time.

We hiked from the Cambria Bridge through the Boardwalk Trail and about halfway down the Locust Creek Riparian Trail. Lots of ticks so use bug spray but we had a great time!

Absolutely beautiful park. Peaceful and the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Not sure on the guests but did have some flashing their lights at us around 9:30pn while we were roasting hotdogs with the kids. We were all whispering and keeping the noise down but some seemed fussy that we were still up at that time. All and all a wonderful trip and would recommend to anyone.

A very nice 1/4 mile walk to the bridge. There were a ton of dragonflies swirling the path which was beautiful to experience. We were on a long drive and needed to get out of the car. This walk gave us the energy to drive on.

Great out of the way location. Not busy when I visited. Clean facilities and polite camp host. High standards as maintained by MO Park Service.

Beautiful park with clean facilities and plenty of trails. There’s a well maintained boardwalk that leads to a lookout that allows you too see a panoramic view of the prairie landscape. Whether you planned a trip to the park or just happen to be passing by on I36, it’s definitely worth stopping and taking it all in.

Very nice state park. We stayed 2 nights in our trailer in May 2017. The campground host was very friendly and helpful. The grounds and restrooms were very well kept. We enjoyed the boardwalk and informative signs.

The camping spot was lovely and peaceful. Except for a couple racoons who have clearly been fed by other campers. We had to keep chasing them off while we had dinner.

Haven't visited all of it but we went to the Locust Creek Historical Bridge and the Scout Lake Trail. And loved them.

I had a wonderful visit here on my way back home from Illinois. After reading some of the literature provided at the old covered bridge I had an amazing new perspective on the entire area. Ending with the boardwalk was very nice as well. I only saw a few other people and it felt like I basically had the whole park to myself.

This state park is a great way to spend the afternoon. I think it's most famous feature is the boardwalk trail. The trails are in good shape and the roads are to. There are plenty of picnic tables available to eat lunch there. I have camped there a couple times and enjoyed myself. I have not fished there so I can't tell you how that is. But it's worth going to go see.

Love the accessibility of the boarded walking trail, the covered bridges isn't as accessible, but it's a beautiful spot to see

The Boardwalk Trail is an easy 1.5 mile loop thru woodlands. The overlook provides a good view of the border between prairie and woodlands. Bug spray is recommended
