Dinner tonight 4/10/24 was perfect ...the salad was great the filet was perfect and our server was very efficient even though they were extremely busy for a Wednesday night.Valentine's dinner 2024 was perfect ..fillet was done just right and the chocolate covered strawberry martini was delicious.On my most recent trip I had the chicken pot pie soup and it was delicious.Valentine's Day Dinner 2023Update..My salmon was delicious and because I ordered without the sauces it was hot and fresh. My husband however ordered the Chicken Christine and had the same problem as last time..chicken was tough..he didn't touch the vegetables because the broccoli and cauliflower were cut in huge chunks and weren't cooked enough for him to eat easily.Went for a Birthday dinner and order the Garden Chicken..very overcooked and tough. Others in our party had fries that were barely warm. Very disappointed this trip. Not to mention not all servers wore masks.

Dynamite entrees, especially the steak! The decor is so unique and the bar area is super cool. Down-to-earth spot where you feel like family. Server and staff were friendly and hard-working. The only reason I gave service 4/5 stars was I felt kind of rushed getting plates cleared and bringing to-go boxes. But they boxed up our leftovers for us so that was a huge plus. Also, they were very understanding and accommodating!

The location is very cool, open, and a great place to bring the family, or go for a birthday. The service was great, everyone had a smile on their face and service was fast. The food was pretty good, but it was 'out in the country good, but not in the city good'. Meaning, they are good for those who don't go to a lot of similar type restaurants. The food was good, but not great - mostly because there were some odd ingredient combination that were contrasting and not in harmony. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

We have been eating here for almost 20yrs, for birthdays special occasions etc and sometimes just to take a drive. It is almost 45 minutes from our house but sooo worth it. The Hawthorne Strip steak is really good with their house butter. Pastas are good, apps are good. If you get lucky and go on a day when they serve beer cheese soup get it! There have been several places next to them and across the street that have come and gone but Hawthorne has made it. Congrats!!

I hate to, but I have to start with the one thing that I was not impressed with at all. Their french fries really need work. For food that was otherwise spectacular, these were not on par with the entrees. I believe they are batter dipped which I dont understand. Mine were flavorless and broken in small pieces. I wish they were just real potato french fries . Not batter dipped. These were the only thing on my table that i regretted ordering, and I am a french fry junkie. If fries were just "good", my review for all would be 5 stars.But the rest of my food, the atmosphere, the service was all top notch and we will definitely be back. I have told all my friends how cool the inside is and how good the food and service was. Service was quick, attentive,and friendly. Inside was clean, perfectly lit and inviting. Food portions were large with good value for the cost. Menu had just enough choices for everyone without being too complicated and lengthy. We were very impressed, and will be back.

Went on a Sunday drive to see the fall foliage and stopped here for lunch. The facilities were clean and cozy. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server Sarah was friendly, kind, knowledgeable and gracious. The food was delicious and worth the wait. This is not a place for a quick bite and that's great, cause quality food should take a little time, they definitely focus on quality over fast .... It shows! Our food was well prepared and delicious. We'll be back ASAP!

Visited The Hawthorne Inn on a Friday evening at 6:30 pm in a group of four. My husband and I had never been. We took advantage of the call-ahead wait list, and we just had time to order drinks and the bar and pay before our table is ready.From the outside, the restaurant looks small. It’s not. The decor was quite lovely. Service was amazing, and the food was DELICIOUS!

I have been going to Hawthorne for many years now. The service is always fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and the food is ALWAYS amazing. We had one bad dish one time, told our waitress about it and it was fixed quickly and kindly.There have been many times we have decided to try something new in St. Louis, or St. Charles, etc. But every time we end up saying "We could have gotten way better food and service for quite a bit less at Hawthorne." Needless to say, we always resort back to Hawthorne now!We have a 15 month old son and he has went multiple times with us since he was a newborn and every time the staff is just great knowing we have a kid. Once when he was a few months old a staff member even offered to hold him so I (mama) could eat! A few other times as he got older he would be fussy or drop a toy etc and they never hesitated to stop and help us out or just talk to distract him and make him happy. The staff genuinely cares and we will continue going to Hawthorne as often as we do!My favorite go to dish is Fried Spinach for the Appetizer and the Hawthorne Strip for the main dish. My husband ALWAYS tries something new whether its a special or something off the menu and he has never got something bad. They're food is great!

Beautiful drive to Labidie. Restaurant is located in center of town. Ask the bartenders for the history of the Inn... Great story and supported by a mural on the wall. Great bar selection. Our bartender Cassidy was super friendly and provided excellent service. Bruschetta was perfect .. toasted buttery crostinis and toppings. House Italian salad had lots of flavor and was the perfect size. Strip steak was cooked perfectly and the garlic butter topping was wonderful. Dessert also did not dissapoint.. the creme pie is made in house and was wonderful. The cheesecake is apparently made in town by a local and was fabulous and fresh. Portions were just right. A little pricy, but will worth it. Menu had lots of options from salads, steaks, pasta, fish, sandwiches. Perfect date night location. The restaurant is quaint and casual. Recommend reservations if going on the weekend. We will go back for sure.

Great greeting from the hostess. Waitress super nice and knowledgeable about the 2 specials and regular menu items . No hurry to order. Ribeye rare was perfect. 3 others had pasta, grouper sandwich and salad. All great. Great relaxad atmosphere. Wine pours were very generous also.

We’ve been going here for years and they have been consistent. This is one of our favorite places to eat. We live 40 minutes away but the food is worth the drive! AND they pour their drinks heavy 😏🥂Pictured was a special they had tonight, fingers crossed one day it makes it on the menu. Beef medalians stuffed with seafood, with a lemon/white wine sauce with mushrooms drizzled over the top.

We used to always enjoy coming here but we suspect ownership or management has changed. All 3 of us had been there multiple times before and had wonderful experiences. 2 of us ordered wine, one red and one white, and neither seemed to be what we ordered. Not only that, but it tasted greatly watered down. We were both offered to order something different, which we both did and it seemed we got the correct ones, but mine still tasted a watered down. I have never ever sent back wine before!The Tenderloin Allison ($30), which was described as medallions, were 2 thin cuts of beef with some kind of tasteless filling in between & no prosciutto unless it was chopped in the stuffing? It was smothered in an overpowering sauce that tasted like A-1 doctored with a little wine and balsamic. The turkey club was on a croissant that was hard and the bacon could not even be cut by the knife.Tried Apple pie for dessert, & while the apples were baked perfectly crisp, the crust & top were mushy sludge. Service was barely adequate and when the manager came by to ask how our meals were and we told him, he offered another dish, which we declined, and he just said okay and left. He also looked like he belonged in the kitchen washing dishes...They did not charge for the club sandwich, but I hate to say, none of us will ever return there with the experience we had. I have never left a review like this, but feel a responsibility to warn others. So unfortunate.

It's a bit of a drive, but we love this place. Good day to put the top down and hit the back roads.We just ordered a Hawthorne Salad to split because we wanted to save room for pie. Their Caesar dressing is house made and delicious. Their homemade coconut cream pie is the best in the area. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, and the pie as well. Great service, though she seemed a little harried and not too organized. If she had stopped to think, I'm sure she could have saved some time and steps. But she was super friendly and met our requests with a smile.We'll be back! Hawthorne Inn has been one of our favorites for over 30 years.Parking: If you arrive during the busy hours you might find it difficult to find parking in front. But there's parking on the street and down the street in front of other businesses.
