My husband and I went there two mornings in a row for breakfast. We had the same thing each time and it was delicious both times. Only downside to this place is the wait time because they have one cook and she doesn't cook it until you order it.

Small place right on highway 13 in Kimberling City. We wanted breakfast but got there a few minutes too late. Sandwiches were good. Friendly service too.

I loved it. Very friendly owner. Great food. Quick service. Just what I was looking for in a diner.We had both a breakfast and a lunch here. The biscuits and gravy were great. The patty melt was awesome.

It wasn't great. The atmosphere was quite sub par. I stopped in for breakfast while on a road trip so the experience was the end result of a Google search. Reviews of 4 or 5 stars are misleading. Food was okay. They stopped serving breakfast around 10:30 which was a little odd for a diner on a Sunday. It also needs a little interior renovation some of the condiment containers on the tables were dusty.

Seems like this place has probably been around a long time and Shirley has loyal long term customers. The ratings are very misleading though. The place is small. The food was OK. The building has seen better days and was just dirty looking. It needs a lot of work which I'm sure it's too expensive to do. The gal waiting on us had no personality and we got to listen to her talk about the $600 they'd done for the day with just the two of them there. We stayed only because we had already sat down but definitely will not return. ☹️

The servers were very nice. However, the place was filthy. Ceiling tiles were stained and falling in. The bathroom door had a crack in it where dinners can clearly see who's using the single stall from the dining area. They didn't have several items on the menu, and the food took a long time to come out. Out of our 4-person party, we were all nervous about eating the food as none of it was good. I would highly recommend going elsewhere to eat.

I'm loosing faith in Google reviews. If anything bad is said, it just makes it harder on an already struggling business person.Go try the food yourself and don't rely on someone else's opinion.

An old school small town diner. It's where you walk in and find the table that best fits you. Don't worry, your server will have your menus faster than you think.The inside as you walk in isn't the most appealing to look at. The acoustic tile ceiling makes you wonder how old the place really is and how long that restaurant's been there. But in the end when you get your food it makes you forget all the unpleasantries that have caught your eye.The food is just as delicious as it looks and the prices are fair or better than you'd expect with the current inflation rate. It seems no matter where else you go, you could expect to pay up to 50% more than before 2022.Mrs. Shirley is that little old lady that you see on the cooking line. At her age, most people would be looking forward to retirement. Not her, at heart she's still working hard to bring her guest an enjoyable meal. Cooked fresh to order at a ticket time of just over 10min. That's better than a few fast food establishments that i have visited recently.Overall, it was a great dining experience each time I have visited this diner. In the past year, it would make a total of 6 visits. I would recommend giving it a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.A big thank you to Shirley and her family for a quick and enjoyable experience. My family and I are moving out of state but will be sure to visit whenever we come this way.

It really doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s what’s inside that counts. I wasn’t expecting much. It had a few tables crammed into this little diner, people happily chatting. The waitress was friendly and helpful despite being the only person working the floor. She greeted us with a smile and got our order in quickly. We chatted about our days plan while we waited for our food. It didn’t really take all that long considering everything is made to order….these days most restaurants precook a lot of stuff and let it sit around until ordered…resulting in dry, cold unappetizing food…but that wasn’t my experience here. I ordered an omelette, my husband ordered ham & eggs, our friends ordered biscuits & gravy, pancakes, eggs and bacon…..my point being…we pretty much covered breakfast and it all came out at the same time —— hot & fresh. Ya know, I had pretty much given up on ordering omelettes because they are a huge disappointment but I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress checked on us and when we gushed about the food she blushed and proudly said her grandmother was the cook. Shirley (the owner) came out to check on us and she is positively the sweetest lil old lady ever!!!Sorry for those folks who want everything right this second. Maybe they need to slow down to appreciate the charm and uniqueness that is Shirley!

Lunch was delicious. Ate there with my family, got burgers, rueben, hot dog, and everything was great. It was also the only place in the area open on a Monday, and we're grateful they were. Not disappointed at all. Yum!

I had the half order of biscuits and gravy and a small breakfast. It was very good. I would like the sausage to have stayed on the grill a little bit more, as I like it just a little crisp on the outside. Mine was good, but I must say that I was jealous of my friends double stack pancake that were as big as the plate. They looked fluffy and absolutely delicious making me want to go back some other time to try it. He enjoyed it. My wife likes her French toast.

OMG, the best biscuits and gravy I have had in years. Just the right consistency, the right pepper content and so creamy. I had the “Stack” which is biscuits then fried potatoes with bacon covered with gravy and an egg on top. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend.It has a cute Coca-cola decor and the staff is super friendly. Mom is in the kitchen and daughter is waiting tables. Show them some love folks. They deserve it.

Visited on Memorial Day, you'd expect staff to anticipate more people and staff appropriately.Two people working (one orders, one kitchen), several people left while waiting, no one received their food in less than an hours time, and family members/friends of the business came in, received their food (for free by the way) and left all while we still waited for our food. Would not visit again even on a non-holiday! Visit a better local diner than this one that actually cares about time and customers.

Everyone here was awesome! I would recommend this place. It is a smaller place, so be patient. It's family owned which is even better. I really don't like corporate food places. So this was a good, off the beaten path food place. I will be back again.

They have great busicuits and gravy but you have to be there early or they run out. They also have fantastic tenderloins that are huge. I would recommend this place for sure. I think the hours are 645am to 2 pm and then they close for the day.

I will say the prices are good, but the service is horrible!!! My family and I went in and ordered 5 whole orders of biscuits and gravy and were told that we can only get 4 half orders as the order would “cause her to loose customers,” however we would be paying the same amount. We let that go and moved past it. The next time we came the 16 year old in our family had a question about the amount of biscuits we were aloud to get and could not get 1 word out because she was rudely interrupted SEVERAL TIMES, we came back about 2 weeks later and the 16 year old walked in and whilst the dinner was packed Shirley herself cussed out this child, with even younger children in the lobby! Shirley is rude, disrespectful, she is NOT honest, and she has no regard for other people or there children in this so claimed “family environment.”

Great diner experience! Loved the fact that it looked like the typical diner which you think of heading down south with inside and out. The breakfasts were awesome and the coffee was very tasty. The service is great and the servers were super friendly and funny.Thank y'all!!

read numerous review before heading here for breakfast. As we entered, we saw this sign. For the size of the meal, the prices were reasonable. The pancakes are plate size. My egg meal filled the plate. AND Shirley cooked our meals. Glad we stopped to try it out.

The breakfast was great! The fries were crunchy. The eggs were perfectly cooked same with the bacon. The biscuits were soooo good. (sadly they were out of gravy):-(The large oj was actually large! Pancakes weree thick, fluffy, and airy! Such a great breakfast the staff was very nice. The lady who took our order i assume/hope was Shirley herself because she was the sweetest thing! Great place.

We love Shirley's! Im from the area but moved away to be closer to other family when I was younger. I come visit a few times a year and I always come to Shirley's with my grandpa and great uncle for breakfast on saturdays. Shirley is the sweetest and wittiest woman ever. The food is delicious!!! Very home town feel!

Food was good. Service was TERRIBLE. Waited 25 minutes to have our order taken and over an hour to get our food. Would have been 1 star if not for the sausage gravy. If you go budget plenty of time.

When we used to frequent this area Shirley's was a regular old haunt of ours.This is the kind of place that we all enjoyed going to that serves honest food and the service is pretty good.This place its not trying to be something that it is not, we enjoy eating at characterfull places and this ticked all the boxes for me.This was what l call a cheap eats place where you can get a good breakfast lunch or dinner for around $5-6.Weve had and tried the breakfasts such as the buritto's and the burgers with cfincle cut fries.Highly recommended to try this one out.
