I love this local brand/shops - they have very knowledgeable people working at every location and do a great job keeping everything stocked. I also appreciate that you can get scoops of soil for potting here that contains local compost and that they will transfer your new plant if you get it there.

I can't get enough of roots kc. They have an amazing staff, gorgeous plants, hilarious apparel, and are just an amazing piece of our community.We're terrible at plants, but each time we've bought a plant, they give us all the tips and lead us to pet safe plants, and we've yet to have to bury another plant (pun intended).

I'm so excited to have such a unique plant shop so close to home! The staff is so knowledgeable about all of the plants - they even helped me to select plants that were safe for our pets at home! After selecting my plants, they potted them right there for me in store - and sent me home with instructions to keep them looking their best. This is definitely the place for a plant beginner! Loved my experience and can’t wait to get back here! Highly recommend!!

I have been in this shop a few times since their opening this spring. I love the atmosphere and the variety of plant options they have. Additionally, the staff’s knowledge of the plants is spectacular. Being that it’s a local business, they participate in events around Zona Rosa and go the extra mile to create a unique experience for their shoppers during special events and on any average day. Also - the details, like plant hats and charms are SO CUTE and creative! I love this place.

Loved my experience at Roots in Zona! As an self proclaimed "plant killer", I need all the knowledge and help I can get. Willa was so helpful and knowledgeable! She gave me all the info I need to keep this plant alive! :) Also, purchased a gift card for my plant loving friend! Will definitely be going back!

Willa is a plant whisperer who was helpful beyond words. I understand plant care better than before my visit and trust that the plant doctor will tend to sick plants. Make it a priority to bring your sick plants or buy new ones. You can't go wrong with Willa.

Really really torn by this place. Came in and loved the atmosphere and the staff. Was very taken aback by the prices. I understand why they are higher then big box plant shops like Home Depot but they are still way more then needed. IBought one plant and mind you I have so many plants and know what I am doing. Within a week of being home it was dying. Did everything correctly. And tried everything I could think of and what the internet suggested. Still nothing. Came to the conclusion that it was the shop and I was sold a sick plant. I would suggest buying your plants from a reputable nursery like Larry’s and save yourself a lot of time and money.

Came here for the first time as a plant enthusiast myself. I understand certain plants are more rare and due to that, they have a higher price-point, but I was taken aback by the prices here.In fact, when walking in the door we passed a couple people walking out who said “I wonder how they stay in business” and we brushed that off, but came to understand what they meant later on.Beautiful plants, wonderful staff, and great selection but even more simple/common plants cost much more than other retailers in the area. Very neat little shop and worth stopping into, but it definitely has a select clientele and unfortunately I’m not sure that’s the average shopper.

Love this place, and I'm excited they now have a location in Zona Rosa! It's locally owned, which is even better! I found a unique, rare plant that I have been searching for.They also had pots, local jewelry, shirts, and other accessories. There were a lot of tropical plants and cacti and starter plants. The staff was very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do!

If you’re in Zona Rosa rOOTS KC is a must stop. Great plant selection. I bought a begonia and a new pot. Willa was working and is who you want to talk to if you have any questions. Potted it for free. Great spot!
