Our purpose coming here because we were told this place have better seed quality compared to the big box stores. I can say that this place gets busy, large with multiple buildings. I know nothing about farming, so hopefully our products grow. Like I said, if the food don’t grow, it could be because of me, not this place. They did have good prices and the staff knew what they were taking about. Wife and I both got educated today from the staff.

I brought my mother here to see all of the amazing heirloom seeds and bulk spices. She was in heaven and promised to be back. We had a good 45 minutes exploring the store and she was delighted the whole time. A business that's been around for near 100 years, I'll gladly support local!! They have bulk spices, heirloom seeds, teas and coffee beans, a full gardening section and so much more. Has the old wooden floorboards that creak as you shop. Such a lovely place. If you garden, cook, or drink tea or coffee, it is worth a visit!!

I absolutely love going to Planters Seed & Spice!! It's been a tradition in my family to go once or twice a year to get stocked up on all their yummy herbs and spices since we live out of town, so it brings lots of wonderful memories! Plus the coffee is fresh and tastes amazing, love it!!

They always have what I'm looking for here. The store is a classic part of KC. It's impossible to walk by in the warm months and not want to take one of their outdoor display plants home with you. Treat yourself to some plant friends when you can!

Definitely a favorite stop every time we travel to Kansas City. We drive from Minnesota to get our spices and certain seeds here. Love the authentic old fashioned ambiance, from the creaky wooden floors to the measuring scale, the seed drawers to the architecture. Excellent prices and selection.

Great store for seeds, hardware, planters, soil, etc. During the late summer, seeds are on sale so stock up for next year. The staff were very friendly and helpful in their recommendations. One pleasant surprise: a wide selection of professional grade food flavorings. If you're looking for spices, I would suggest going to the Arabic spice shops in River Market instead.

I bought 10 soft neck garlic bulbs for planting for 2 years in a row planted 90 cloves each year not 1 came up . A year earlier planted the same and all came up . My only bad experience there love the spice selection and the store just don’t buy the garlic for planting.

Love the going to get spices in bulk great prices. But surprised & disappointed @ demeanor of staff. Not welcoming at all. Felt out of place 1st time in years. Used to go with my parents for years I'm 66 now, but felt as a black customer not welcome. Staff was not friendly short answers to a few questions When i asked where particular spices were the lady didn't even look up just pointed & said over there. Check out was just as basic. Planters doesn't welcome their black clientele anymore. Very disappointing... do better please

On a trip to Kansas City i made a special trip to visit this store ....it is a mini Home Depot and then some. So much good stuff here, especially the bulk spices and seeds selection; I was disappointed by the tea selection, not as many choices as I was hoping for;

I love this store so much! I come with my mom every time she visits Kansas City getting spices, coffee and tea that’s better than anything in the store but still affordable.

Dropped in for the first time today and was really happy with the experience. I liked the seed selection (it's a little sparse-looking right now but I'm sure they get lots more by early Spring). I ended up picking up chamomile and spearmint to try growing when it gets a little warmer.There are lots of spices and seasoning mixes, and the tea/coffee corner was pretty cool (and smelled lovely to boot). The tea prices look very reasonable, and they sell in bulk, which is appealing.There's lots of garden/lawn supplies and some hardware goods, although the latter is on the pricier side. I found a decent selection of plant water saucers, which was great because I've had a hard time finding them anywhere else this time of year.The staff are very professional and knowledgeable and friendly, which left me impressed. They even offered me a small pamphlet about starting seeds to help me on my way, which was a pleasant surprise. I can't wait to come back when planting season gets closer to see what other things they have to offer.

No other place in Kansas City has a selection of spices, soup and dip mixes and seeds like Planters. They also have about anything that you can need for gardening and lawn care. I started shopping here over 30 years ago. It hasn't changed much. Highly recommended.

These people had some really nice stuff out there today. I seen a lot of plants. There was a lot of beautiful flowers. And as usual, they had some tea (loose/fresh tea)....I would recommend Planters Seeds & Spice because going to Planters Seeds & Spice is a wonderful experience.I had hand in this business beginning and, like a lot of other businesses in the area, Planters is fairly decent place. They had a lot of cool wind chimes in the past.

Came to get our vegetable seeds, ended up getting plants. This is a big win for me, and it was a great deal. Their selection of spices is wonderful. So many all natural resources for gardening. And I absolutely love walking into this place. I have been coming here for over 40 years, and will continue. Highly recommend a visit.

LOVE this place! They have a wonderful selection of spices. They are always so helpful. Now that they are open on Sundays, it is possible for me to get there since it is a drive from Kansas. The spices are so much better than store bought. My husband is all about the red apple caramels. You should definitely check out this store.

Great spices! Great service! As challenging as parking can be on a Saturday, an employee enthusiastically helped me purchase several pounds of tea and spices. If you can find a place to park your car, there are always lots of helpful people working at Planters Seed Company. I'm so thankful that they're here in Kansas City! I highly recommend it to friends, family, and neighbors who are looking for excellent fresh spices and garden seeds!
