Initially I liked that the store is clean and close to home. They had an aquarium and live plants I wanted. For that, I added an extra star.However, when I went to purchase fish, I found Petsmart had sold me an aquarium that was too small for 99% of the fish they sell in the store. They recommend a minimum 10 gallon aquarium for all of their fish except a betta, and they will outright refuse to sell you the other fish if you have less than 10 gallons. I don't want a betta. I wanted goldfish.The well-meaning but falsely informed employee helping me and her equally misled manager both told me that a goldfish's growth would be stunted by the small tank, specifically mentioning that the fish's outsides would stop growing and the organs would keep growing. They said the fish would "implode, dying a horrible death." Which is simply not true. I did my research after hearing that, and it there are multiple reputable sites debunking that myth. (The same growth-inhibiting-hormone that stops the outside from growing also stops the organs from growing--mother nature's plan for fish trapped in small quantities of water in the wild. Does not cause harm to the fish unless they cannot move freely.) There are no sites supporting the organ implosion theory, unless you count a couple of anecdotal comments on discussion sites. Hardly scientific proof. I second the "fish Gestapo" comment made by another customer.As an experienced aquarium owner, I know that if my fish are unhappy or unhealthy in my aquarium I will do what it takes to make it right, or rehome them if it is beyond my capability. Petsmart policy, apparently, does not put any trust in the customer to care for animals. 2 small goldfish would be perfectly happy in a 3 gallon aquarium for quite some time before outgrowing it or experiencing any stunting of their growth.I seriously question the ethics of a store that, hypocritically, keeps their own fish in 5 gallon aquaria of 5-10+ fish per tank, and keeps hundreds of fish in the feeder tank. I distrust a store which cheerfully sells multiple 1, 2, 3, 5, and 8 gallon aquaria, with no warning that they will afterward refuse to sell you fish for them. There are multiple "Glofish" aquarium kits available in less than 10 gallon sizes--with lights, filter, gravel, etc. However, all of the glofish varieties sold at the store require at least a 10 gallon tank. Why would you even sell a tank too small for the fish it is DESIGNED to hold? There is a 6 gallon aquarium for sale with a picture of a cichlid (!) with 5 other fish in the tiny tank.If fish do not belong in these small enclosures, please stop selling them with pictures of fish on them. Call it a terrarium or shrimp/frog/snail tank.I would advise customers to head to a more trustworthy store for pet equipment, and (especially) pet care advice. A store that does not sell products unfit for the animals it is selling.

Went to go buy some shrimp and a few goldfish, didn't expect to meet the aquatic Gustapo.Young guy working in the fish section was extremely unhelpful, grumbly. And acted like the gatekeeper of aquatic life. Questioned me and my tanks at home before saying "I'm not giving you that fish"Listen dude. I give you money. You give me fish, that's how this works. Stay away from this store, pushy overstepping staff.

The dog food itself is cheaper than the competitor but every time I go for other things, they either don't even carry it, such as some kind of dog bite ointment or healing cream, or they are always out of the size I need for my dog which is large to extra-large. Needed a slip chain. Had all the sizes except the one I needed. I go for the dog food but everything else I go to the competition.

While I don’t blame employees for having to cohabitate reptiles due to them being forced too by the company but this is awful and 100% on employees there is absolutely no excuse for not taking this chameleon who is actively dying from what looks like dehydration and starvation and not putting them in a hospital tank and getting vet help

I really like their sample Saturdays. Once a month they have a table set up from noon to 2 PM & hand out samples of cat & dog food & coupons. Great idea! I have been twice now & really enjoy trying the new food for my cats.

I like petsmart because of their selections for dogs. I go their salon also. Also use their door dash option to deliver my dog food. I use them monthly. The only negatives are the prices. They have coupons just not on essentials offten. I guess it cant be helped these days

My cats are picky, and the new food I bought didn't go over well. Took the opened bag back to Petsmart, and they returned it with no questions. I did have the receipt with me, so that helped. Exchanged for a different kind and so far so good. Here's to not returning another bag.

Tell me why you would take a harness off an obvious nervous dog only to then put a leash around his neck and proceed to pull him? Make it make sense.. Also if you’re gonna charge a certain price for services you might want to complete the service, my dog’s tail wasn’t even trimmed. Never again at this pet smart, the groomers need better training I guess.

Good place to shop for my cat's food, liter, play toys and other things. Unfortunately, their shelf stock of most varieties of Fancy Feast w/gravy, breakaway single serve meals are almost always out of stock...so, I have had to feed my cat other brands, which she doesn't much care for. 🙂

Stopped in to get food for my cat and couldn't find it so I asked the cashier and she assisted me with a smile and my gift card I had actually still had a balance left so it all worked out. Remember you get good service when you treat them with kindness.

Do not use their grooming services. Staff was not helpful and seemed resistent to check my dog in for his grooming appointment (we arrived 10 minutes early; other stores have checked him in and taken him back early in the past). Upon picking him up, he was still completely wet and it does not feel or smell like he was shampoo'd. It smells like he was just hosed down, spritzed, then barely dried. I paid for nail trim/grind, teeth, ear, and eye cleaning and none of these services were performed. Go to another PetSmart salon for grooming and avoid this nightmare.

We have been taking our dog to training here. Our trainer, Donna Lane, has been fantastic! Everything she has taught us has helped us work with our rambunctious puppy. You can tell she truly cares for those coming to her for help and their pups. I couldn't recommend her enough! Thank you Donna!

I set up an appointment for my puppy for a full haircut the person who took my dog was very rude and put him on the floor and right away she told I can’t deal with my your dog, she just did his face and them another person in the store told me that she’s new and that why she didn’t want to do the full haircut for my dog. So don’t have new people for that until they’re ready! Also I called like two days later to spoke with the manager and she was like “well we need to do another appointment and you pay for that”, to be honest I won’t take my dog to this store they don’t care about customer.
