We honestly cannot say better things about Dr Lyle and the whole staff at Crest Animal Hospital! Dr Lyle is one of the most compassionate and knowledgeable vets that we have ever dealt with! If I could give them more stars I would! I run a small local animal rescue and Dr Lyle has helped save the lives of nearly 10 dogs needing urgent care and always is there to do everything he can! Thank you to the entire staff for ALWAYS showing our animals so much love in their worst hours!!

Dr. Lyle has performed two orthopedic surgeries on my dog, and both times has been so caring and compassionate. The second surgery had some complications and I felt that he and his staff went above and beyond to care for my dog and make sure he was okay, and communicate with me about it. I definitely felt as if I could trust him with my dog, and that he had his best interests/safety in mind. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best vet experiences we have ever had. The staff was so nice! They just had this overall genuine scene of care and love for our dog. This is now the only place I would take my babies.

If I could give ten stars I would!! I want to say I have not been in to the office yet but I was very anxious for my cat after surgery at another office and my boss referred me Dr. Lyle’s number and he immediately called back and was extremely informative! Even after the day was over, I received a voicemail from Dr. Lyle simply following up to see how everything was with my Salem boy. I think we have a system for our Salem but I promise I will be in for my next kitty checkup / visit. He took the time I needed to feel comfortable and gave more security than any doctor even my own physician! THANK YOU DR LYLE. I will be in to see you in the future! -Tifany

We’ve been going to Crest Animal Hospital since I was a kid with our family pets, and as an adult with our three dogs over the span of almost 20 years. We live nowhere near Crest but we love this veterinary practice so much the drive is worth it to see Dr.Lyle. Dr.Lyle may be one of the best vets in Kansas City. His expertise, and skill level are unmatched. He’s incredibly responsive when we need him, and has helped us through more tough situations with our dogs than I can count. In this day and age of corporate vets with ridiculous pricing, Crest remains a place where personal care is extended to all patients. I can’t say enough good things about Dr.Lyle and his practice. I recommend him to absolutely anyone with a pet. We will be loyal to Crest for the foreseeable future with all of our pets.

Dr. Lyle & his team are amazing! You will not find a more caring vet. My dog needed TPLO surgery and after quoting several vets this was by far the most affordable and was worth driving 3 hours for. I will forever recommend them and won’t hesitate to bring my dogs back for any other issues.

Best experience ever! My lab is a 2yr old 85lb bundle of doggy nerves especially during nail trims. Dr. Lyle and his staff were super kind and understanding. He left with a wagging tail and trimmed nails!

New client here. The staff are nice but seem a bit overwhelmed when calling and the two times I've been there. They only do walk in appointments that I know of so you need to be really early like 15-30min before they open or expect to wait for a bit- not sure I like this system. Prices seem reasonable and care is thorough. Not sure I'd recommend this place only because I'm the type of person that expects great customer service and to be a bit spoiled. Don't like to feel like I'm adding to a hectic day or that my dog, who's a bit like me, gets nervous and combative when being held down to clip nails, is putting you out for doing your job. I'm sure it's a tough job but if you choose a career, own it and don't ever let your clients feel unimportant or that their phone call or questions exasperate you. After realizing all this in my review, I don't think I'll go back just because of my own needs to have the best all around for me and my dog.

Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Dr. John was fantastic with our 2 dogs. We've been looking for a good forever vet and we found it. Called a couple weeks ago before we became customers when our puppy got ahold of some chewing gum and they were so helpful. Gave advice over the phone and we ended up not having to come in based on the recommendations they gave us on how to treat her at home. Super happy!

Dr. Lyle is the best! He is great with my senior dog (16.5 yo) and even came in after hours the first time l took him, right after l moved to KC. Which was an emergency 15 years ago. I have since moved from the area and still drive the 30+ minutes to Crest because of how great they are!

I went in fearful, due to having a prior experience with another vet putting my dog under anesthesia and having a seizure just minutes after receiving her. Mr. John Lyle DVM did an amazing job my dog had no seizure and in three days after getting my dog spayed she was back to her go lucky self. Definitely will be going back to him for any needs for my dog.

I am a newcomer at Crest animal hospital and I am very impressed! Dr. Lyle and staff are absolutely amazing! They are caring, compassionate, friendly, informative and efficient. You can tell that they all truly love what they do and they care for each animal as if it was their own. The prices are also reasonable unlike other places ive been. I just wish i would have found them sooner! :)

The most caring and knowledgeable staff you will ever meet. We love the "walk in" hours and prices are very fair. Care and consideration is given to each concern and they do not order a lot of unnecessary tests. Any tests or procedures recommended are explained thoroughly and the comfort of the pet is a priority. Hands down, best veterinary care in KC!

One of the strays I care for was sick, and my usual vet couldn't see them. This place was suggested to me, so I brought him in. Sadly, he had feline leukemia and, because he couldn't be a pet and I couldn't return him to my colony and risk it spreading, we had to let him go. The staff and vet were very caring and handled him very well. We'll miss you, Trapper.

Very sweet staff! Our Manx got hit by a car so we got her cremated. Now as you can see, she chills with us in the livingroom every day, from her favorite spot! Thank you guys for the reasonably priced service, we are very happy with the way you handled everything and the box is beautiful!

Crest Animal Hospital - where to start on my review here?I'll spare the waterworks here but Dr. Lyle and his start are amazing. They saved my poor pup's life when my now-former vet basically told me "good luck" after we discovered what was ultimately severe tumor growths, effectively taking over one of his kidneys. I can not say enough about how much I appreciate the love, patience, and dedication paid to my buddy in the scariest hours of his life.The subsequent care, follow-ups, support and just wonderful nature of the entire staff after my event has me sold.They now see all of my animals and I couldn't be happier. furthermore, I TRUST them with my loved ones after I've been disappointed so many other times by others in the past.Crest Animal Hospital is the ONLY place I think of for my pets or would recommend for others'.Thank you. Dr. Lyle and everyone there!

My fur baby had an eye infection and wasn't feeling well. I called Crest and was able to get a next-day appointment. When I arrived the lady at the front desk was very welcoming and patient with me. I was able to leave my (Zues) with them because he had to be put to sleep so the doc could examine his eyes. I was sad and filled with emotions. The doc came out to speak with me and assured me that my Zeus was in good hands. 3 hrs later my baby was waiting for me ❤️I was given antibiotics and eye drops to help my Zeus man feel better.Thank you, Crest Animal for getting my fur baby in so quickly and allowing me to keep a few dollars in my pocket.
