They Got rid of the sour apple stuff they carried for a lesser product for training dog not to chew stuff. This new Produict "bitter lime" Do not buy it!!. Not only is it not effective as the sour apple was (my dog did not get into anything for a year with one coat of that) but the new product "bitter lime" Not only does the dog first choose the effected stuff to get too I.E. Mini blinds and shoes and wires like now, the dog is attracted to it where as the sour apple or bitter apple the dog was actually repulsed by it.The new product also contains some issues with application that the bitter or sour apple did not do. Its applicator heavily mists the air and as opposed to the bitter apple where the liquid would stay in one place "where you point it" The new product actually envelops the area you are spraying causing the pet owner to be affected in a really bad way. I can still taste it after days of use. .The clerk will tell you they are the same but they are incorrect. I have used this product three times to reinforce where the bitter apple or sour apple was wearing off and not only is my dog now more attracted to it but the human as a repulsion. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Get The good stuff the green apple spray it works, and I wasted money and am tortured after spaying it it is horrible to taste but the dog likes it!! Use this one for Human children or angry adults who like biting this only works on Humans. Wish they would get the apple stuff back they used to carry.Still very nauseous from the fumes and taste and I have not used it for two days to see if it would at all work, it only works against people.!

We went to the shop to check out some fish for my sister in laws new aquarium. They have a nice selection. However, every tank was contaminated with black beard algae. This is unacceptable. Its really hard to remove once its in your tank.

City Pets is one of my favorite places always have interesting Birds pets and supplies! I hope they will look into BCD Oil and cookies for their pets. We do have wholesale for retail stores. Our products are for pets and people I have stores that can not keep this product on their shelves. What an excellent place to shop for your pet!

City Pets is probably the best store to get live fish in town. The employees are friendly and helpful, the selection of fish is usually good (and if it's not it's because they're about to place an order and they'll add you to their call list and call you when it is), and their fish are usually healthy. I've never had a City Pets fish die on me (except one that was totally my fault for not watching the pH of my tank). They don't have a fantastic selection of live plants for aquaria, but are helpful in finding places that do.Better yet, they work with you when you make mistakes. If you get a pet that doesn't work out with the others, they will gladly take it back and help work with you to replace it. Definitely one of my favorite pet shops, and even better 'cause it's right in the heart of Westport and not all the way out in the suburbs.

This is a great place to start if you want to support a small local pet store. Their selection is at a medium level and the staffs knowledge can be spotty. There are great people there and for a quick stop in for Pet food, they are a good place to begin.

Happy to see this place finally going out of business😆😆🤣 Maybe we can get a half decent pet shop in midtown😁. Keri just told me to go piss up a rope because i am 3 minutes late to out grooming appointment. Hey i have 3 dogs, a cat, and a bunch of tropical fish. I’ll be happy to go somewhere else. Say, why are you losing business again??

This place is a lot bigger on the inside than you would expect from the storefront. They have a great selection of lots of small animals, lizards, birds, and fish, and really reasonable prices! I was definitely impressed by this local pet shop!

This place has gone downhill over the last few years. They no longer have any Marine fish, and their prices are outrageous for all items. I used to be okay with paying a slight premium to help out a local business, but I can't anymore. The service in my experience has been poor as well. I called to check on an item in stock and was on hold for 15 minutes, enough time to drive to the store and see the lady that put me on hold flirting with the security guard, WHILE I'M STILL ON HOLD.

Whenever possible I like to support local businesses for obvious reasons, but many of the items I have purchased at City Pet I can usually find at other places for almost HALF of the cost!!! The only product that I have found that is reasonable is their Taste of the Wild dog food. I will only buy that dog food there. Nothing else.

Got there couple minutes to spare to buy my guinea pig's paper bedding. The doors were already shut and 2 employees with a manager was were lounging by the cash register. Very rude and they even saw us. I'd rather drive somewhere else than shop here ever again.

NO SALTWATER FISH🐠🚫 website says they have saltwater fish but we were informed by an employee when we arrived that they have not had saltwater fish for over a year. Otherwise they had some nice cichlids and uplifting trance playing so there's that i guess....

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. The store itself is very clean, too, which is both great and tragically rare for places that sell animals. It's a local business, too!

Friendly staff! Kind of wonder about some of the dog food brands though- they either have switched away from vendors or can't get the ordering quite right. Due to this I have switched to Petco.

While a bit short on the variety of supplies you might need for a pet (more on the terrarium based pets side of the spectrum), what is provided is solid and the service is nice.
