They did a great job and for puppy Love in on short notice. She was all matted up from having long hair she the had to shave her. She looks great and they were very helpful. My only complaint is I wish they had told me it was going to cost me $90 plus tip cause I might have just tried to shave her myself! :)

They’re amazing! A wonderful selection of food. The bones are quite expensive in comparison to other places I’ve been. The customer service fantastic, they were very knowledgeable about their products.

I am editing my review below due entirely to the phone call from Brian Murphy, the owner. I realize that I am only 1 customer and Brookside Barkery has very solid positive reviews, so he could have just written me off. However, he took the time to call me in-person and really wanted to make things right.The store is able to offer competitive prices and free, same-day delivery which are nice incentives, but it was really Brian caring enough about my customer experience to want to make it right.Not sure about in-store shopping because of the man I mentioned below, but I will continue to support Brookside Barkery, Brookside location, on-line for sure. And maybe eventually in-store, too. My dog loves the treats in the cases.Thank-you, Brian! I appreciate that you care about delivering quality customer service.DebraOriginal Post:I have shopped at Brookside Barkery (Brookside) for the last time due entirely to the rudeness of older gentleman who works there. I don't know if he's an owner, Manager or what but he has usually been there when I've gone in. I went in Tues., 2-20 about 6:30 and he did not acknowledge me AT ALL, even when I put the 22.5# bag of Origen dog food on the counter about 3' away from where he stood talking to a woman just exchanging pet stories. She did not appear to be buying anything. I waited for several minutes within clear line of sight and even made a bit of a show of looking at treats in the adjacent case. Not the slightest indication he was even aware of me. I had to go track down the only other employee working and he was running the vacuum sweeper in the back of the store. That young man was very pleasant and accommodating which is the only reason I did not give this review 1 star. The older man always seems to be a grouch, but this last experience was over the top for lousy customer service. I try to supportsmall, local businesses as much as possible but they should earn my business. I can buy this food on line, save money and have it delivered to my door. No rude, grouchy men included. We love brookside barkery! We started taking our pup here as soon as we got him. Our first appt was booked with Jade, 6 months later and we haven’t looked back! She’s so friendly, great with communication, and awesome with our pup. If you’re looking for a new groomer, she’s your gal!

I loved I was able to take my Gbaby to wash our fur babies (mini poodles) but the experience was overshadowed by the massive amount of dog hair just lying around everywhere.The section where you utilize the "Self-serve" wash is very organized and stocked with items for you to use. The reason that I have to give it 2 stars is because while we were shampooing our puppies another person was blow-drying their LONG HAIR severely shedding dog right next to us. There was hair flying EVERYWHERE!!!! There was no way to control or contain it.I personally do not like dog and cat hair, it was all over the place, on my clothes, in my hair, etc so this was very disappointing to us for our 1st time there. Needless to say, it was an experience just one I won't do again and wouldn't recommend to anyone that "can't do" animal hair.My only advice is to consistently sweep and wipe up the animal hair so that it is not so overwhelming. It defeats the purpose of washing your animals to sit them down in dog hair from other animals. To me it just wasn't a kept establishment, the towels weren't clean, and there was hair in the stalls and sink.S/N the prices are very affordable.

This seems like an amazing place but I was a little disappointed. Since they have barkey in there name I assumed they had a lot of homemade dog treats. The did have homemade treats but only a small amount. The main part of the store is a really cool looking bath area and a lot of different types of food. I was wanting to get my dog a BDay cake which when they didn’t have I thought it must not be normal to carry. I then found some wonderful ones at three dog bakery but nothing could hold a flame to Brookside dog baths. I will have to come back and have my dog get a bath sometime. Though parking was horrible as it always normally is in Brookside so not sure when it will be.

Our family has been getting our dogs groomed at Brookside Barkery & Bath for years. Our old boy (18!) receives especially exceptional care that accommodates for his age and nerves (former rescue). I always feel good about dropping him off knowing he is in the capable and experienced hands of so many dog lovers. Special thanks to Dana and Kelly for always treating our pets as if they were their own. We feel the love and are very appreciative that the Barkery is a part of our Kansas City community. We have an opinionated husky and a super anxious and reactive mutt, so to say they’re a handful for grooming appointments is putting it lightly. But Fennell does an amazing job with them and is always incredibly kind.

I RARELY leave reviews, but anyone who takes good care of our baby (our dog Pete) deserves one! Leah was our groomer and our dog has anxiety but left his appointment yesterday acting happy and not anxious or ready to leave at all - so I know he had to of been treated with a lot of patience and love during his appointment. Plus he smells amazing and his coat looks amazing! We are very pleased with our service here and will be long term customers!

Great store for your pet. The food selection is great. From raw and freeze dried to everything else, you can find it here. There is a spa for your animal. The staff is ultra knowledgeable and very very nice.

I took my dog Foxie for the self-service bath & nail trim. The prices are definitely affordable, especially considering what I was paying other places. The self service wash includes free face wash for stains and tears, shampoo & various conditioners with the choice to upgrade for a small fee. You wash as long as you would like with complimentary brushes and gloves. After washing you move over to the drying station where they have drying with various nozzles to help push all the shedding hair off along with more brushes and combs to assist with de-shedding. The also provide face masks because it can get a little hairy in the enclosed space. The prices you pay depend on your dogs weight. A plus is that it’s no appointments, walk-in only which is great for on the go or emergency situations. The employees were super nice and helpful and they also have a great YouTube tutorial on the self-service process so you can go in prepared.

When I first got my puppy, I went to petsmart for all his grooming but when I found this place, I have gone nowhere else. The self bath is great, grooming service is great and flexible and the staff is wonderful.

Took our recently rescued new old friend there for a self bathing experience. There was a lower bath with easy access for this old man to enter! Everything you need is supplied including a 4 step shampoo, oatmeal treatment, conditioner and deodorizer and a face wash! Towels n dryers with easy access platforms! People are right there to help with everything! They even made a successful attempt at trimming his long 'talons'! Loved it! Will go againg!

We brought our senior mixed breed dog in for a bath and de-shed. It was easy to book the appointment and we got in within a few days of reaching out. Jacob was the bather and he did a great job - our dog was beautiful and clean - money well spent! We will bring her back for future appointments and highly recommend.

My standard poodle loves to get down and dirty. The doggie self wash was easy to use and reasonably priced. I'm not sure my dog has ever been so clean. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

My dog came home with sub conjunctival hemorrhages. That means he choked so much that the capillaries in his eyes bled. No one said anything to me when we picked him up. I left a voice message at the Barkery asking if they could explain what happened and nobody called me back. I will never ever ever utilize this facility again.

Unbelievable how you have treated my poor girl. She was dropped off at 8am and you crated her all day clearly without water. Told me she would be done by 1pm. When she wasn’t done I tried to call and the phones weren’t working so finally 9 hours later I go up there to find she still wasn’t groomed. But they opted not to tell me that until after I paid over $100 including tip. I just picked her up at 5:45 she is still wet hasn’t even had water in over 9 hours and is shedding everywhere when I was charged for deshedding. You should be ashamed how you treated her. She was so traumatized that I had to go pull her out of the kennel myself. I’m beyond disgusted. No animal should be caged for 9 hours with no water. I will never be back and will go out of my way to steer everyone away from this place.

We had a great first experience bringing our anxious dorgi in for a nail trim. He usually has to be muzzled and hates the entire nail trimming experience, but Misty was so good with him, even as he squirmed. They were accommodating and clipped his nails in a more private area to make sure he wasn’t overstimulated. We were done in about 5 minutes and he was happy to have so many treats to choose from as a reward. I was impressed with the customer service and appreciated their patience & understanding of his anxiety!
