Jonathon provided us with insight into handling our Frenchie Remy. We received helpful techniques which was what I needed. We also received many items such as his little bed that he loves and much needed training collars and leashes. Jonathon is patient and loves our puppy. I appreciate his willingness to help us with any possible future needs. Also Remy loves that treat. Jonathon recognized that Remy often works best from positive reinforcement. Of course he still needs firm and consistent “discipline” from grandma. Thanks so much

Yay, Steady Paws now offers Doggy Daycare! Our puppy loves it. She can't wait to get her harness and out the door. The people are friendly and she always comes home tired. (That's saying a lot for a puppy.) 10/10/20Jon was amazing. He came in for private lessons with my 3 month mini Golden Doodle. The lessons allowed us to learn basic obedience together and strengthened our bond. I only wish we'd done it sooner. 3/15/20

Jon came highly recommended and I can now understand why! My 5 month old Bernedoodle did the board and train with Jon. We just had our first follow up so that I can learn the commands and how to work with her at home. Jon made things easy and was very patient. I am so happy with the results! The owner Jon is absolutely amazing! He is a super kind guy. We adopted a pup from the animal shelter in Jefferson city. We are only two sessions in to her training and can already see amazing improvements in the way she acts and listens. Jon is easy to get ahold of if we have questions or concerns. He also contacts us to check up on how things are going. I think he spends more time training us than the dog lol. He offers a few plans that make it really affordable for training. We fully recommend anyone checking Steady Paws out for themselves.

My one year old pup and I just finished the 6 week private lessons with Jon. I can not recommend him enough! Before training I had a dog who had no boundaries and could be slightly aggressive with me when he didn’t want to do things such as ear drops and putting a cone on his head to the point to where I was somewhat fearful of him. Now after training sessions with Jon, Melvin respects boundaries and is tolerable of situations that make him uncomfortable. This is has been the best investment for my pup and I!

My wife and I adopted Suzi (a border collie mix) from a rescue in Oklahoma. Being 18 months old, she was a handful! We contacted Jonathan and opted for the four week board and train. What a difference this made in our new girl! Suzi went from being virtually uncontrollable to a well-mannered, mindful, dog. Hats off to Jonathan and Zemriya. They worked wonders with us and Suzi. I look forward to additional training sessions with them to sharpen up our training and learn how to teach her some tricks. Bottom line, thanks to their training, we are enjoying every moment with Suzi and she is enjoying life in her new forever home with her forever family!!!

John and his team have done an excellent job teaching and training our two Australian Shepherds. He has an excellent bedside manner with his clients and their dogs. Our dogs have made some remarkable progress with John's instruction. They have completed their first level training and are now in the second level. We will have Steady Paws also do their third level training. We cannot recommend Steady Paws enough!!!!!

We brought our dogs to Steady Paws for a few hours today, and it was so reassuring to know they were in good hands. We did the 'daycare' option and it was very reasonably priced! Jon was professional and very knowledgeable. We were able to board both of our dogs together, which was nice because they're bonded. The facility was very clean, there was a ton of room for the dogs to play and relax, and my pups seemed to like it a lot. It was just nice to know that I could leave my fur babies there and they would be looked after, safe, and comfortable. We will definitely be taking them back for future plans! 10/10 Highly Recommend!

Jon was absolutely wonderful with our new lab puppy. We did the 6 week program of basic obedience training, and couldn't be happier. His techniques are straightforward and effective. Jon helped us curb our dog's reactive behaviors through obedience training. His belief that a more confident dog is a calmer dog has proven true for us. Jon explains his training techniques clearly and is always available for questions and clarifications. The Steady Paws facility is also very spacious and clean. We will definitely be using the boarding service next time we travel.

My chihuahua, Reggie, received excellent training from Jon. Reggie had a streak of stubborn in his personality. Jon was able to help us break through this trait and enjoy our new dog to the fullest. Reggie would not accept a collar at all or a walk around the block. After a couple training sessions with Jon, Reggie was wearing a collar with no issues and we finally got to enjoy a walk. Jon actually trained me, the dog owner! I highly recommend Steady Paws.

When we adopted our pit bull from a shelter 2 years ago, we were not aware of his fear and reactivity to dogs. We had tried other types of training, and attempted some training on our own, but had not been successful in handling his reactivity. I am rating Jonathon and his assistant a 5 star review! They are amazing, knowledgible and ever so nice . They love what they do and are excellent at it. I enrolled my 6 month old labradoodle in the board and train program. He finished yesterday, I see a huge improvement compared to when he first started. They will even do follow up visits if need be . I would recommend Steady Paws for all your fur babies training👍👍😊

Highly recommend Jon. We did the 6 week training for our lab puppy and it has helped tremendously. Being first time dog owners, Jon was patient with us and very thorough when showing us what we needed to do when working with our puppy to effectively train her. Our puppy listens to our commands and is much calmer, making play time more enjoyable for our young children.

We had our puppy board and train with Jonathan and he did a wonderful job! We’ve had follow up training sessions and we have seen our puppy’s behavior improve drastically. Jon did a great job with training my little chihuahua mix and teaching me how to train her! He made himself available to any questions I had throughout the 6 weeks of obedience sessions. Also, he made the training fun between myself and my pup. I learned, not only how to correct certain behavior such as unwanted barking, but also, concepts I will be able to apply to future pets. I would highly recommend his training!

Jon is great, has a passion for his work and it shows. He works very hard to make sure you are happy with your dog and feel the goals you have set for training have been met. I searched for Jon because I had a aggressive French Bulldog puppy, aggressive to the point my 6 year old pug was afraid to be in the same room as my puppy because she had been attacked so many times. Jon was able to work with my puppy and get the aggression under control and determine what was causing the outbursts. We are now able to use the tools Jon has given us to help our family become more cohesive and happy. Would highly recommend him for your dog training needs.

Jon did a great job training my dog! She has a ton of energy and it was hard to get her to pay attention. Now she's much more attentive and is quick to follow commands. I was kept updated throughout her training (she was boarded and trained) and received pictures and videos which I greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Steady Paws.

Jon is by far the best trainer we have found (Allison is also a great trainer and almost always available). We have a year and a half old Dutch Shepherd, Groot. Dutchies are a high anxiety, high drive breed (appx. 75 lbs). We tried a couple different trainers/methods but my fiancé and I were unable to connect with them the way we did with the people at Steady Paws. We were able to train our Dutchie on the basics, but we needed somebody to help dial down the anxiety. In 16 days, Jon and his team were able to get Groot to place and not move until allowed to. Any amount of a stimulus would not get him to move. He walks with little to no issues. He listens the first time we give a command and rarely needs correction after the first one. No more jumping and going crazy when somebody comes over. Jon takes the time to get to know you and your pup. He timely responded to all texts/calls and so did his staff. Steady Paws regularly sends pictures and videos on what they are working on. I strongly recommend Steady Paws for anyone looking to train their pups. It’s also a great place for daycare.

Our German Shepherd was out of control. He was jumping, pulling on the leash, and crazy for attention whenever another dog or person came nearby. We needed help because the pup was growing fast, and we were having trouble managing his excitement. We had started to grow exasperated... and then we went to Steady Paws. I can’t say enough good things about Jon and his team. Jon is a consummate professional. He was patient with us and explained everything. He worked A LOT with our dog and taught us how to maintain our dog’s good behavior. We just got our dog back and went to a park. Our dog was so well behaved, we felt comfortable letting children pet him. Right afterward, we took our dog to a food truck stand. We received several compliments on how well behaved the dog was. This would have been unthinkable a couple weeks ago. Jon’s work has changed our lives. We enjoy our pup again. Huge thanks. Definitely recommend.
