Although it is never easy to loose a pet a friend and companion … it’s always nice to know you have a good Veterinarian to take care of your pet. Our daughter and son-in-law recently had to make a hard decision about their family dog. Stacie was compassionate and very caring to them both and handled this situation with care and dignity. For more than one reason, I’d NEVER use this place again. One being, the lady doc gave my dog an annual vaccination costing $75 knowing she was in bad health after X-rays that same day. Had to be euthanized a week later and they wouldn’t even consider the fact this was poor advice or refund the vaccine cost.

Summit took very good care of our dog from the time we got him in 2020 to when we had to make the heartbreaking decision in September this year to let him go because of an aggressive form of cancer. They were compassionate and professional from the beginning to the end. If we ever get a pet again, this will be the only place we will go for veterinary care. The best!! The doctors are very caring, and they explain protocals for caring for sick pets in great detail. The staff is always friendly and very happy to see our pets come in. When we lost our dog Frank in 2020, they made the whole process easier to deal with by being so compassionate and understanding.

We have brought all of our dogs to Summit Vet Services over the last 15 years. Dr Bates is kind, honest and great with all types of dogs. We will never go anywhere else! Stacy Bates works the front and is always kind and honest about what they can do. They ALL do their best to treat each animal and human with kindness and compassion. Absolutely do not take your pet here if you suffer from a disability or have basically just made simple human error. I took my dog and cat there and had no problems before. My husband and I moved a few times the last year and a half. My dog injured himself and needed emergency services. I called and asked about getting him in and was told we were no longer clients because we hadn’t been in 13 months. Fine. I had to take him elsewhere but needed his records and to make him a new appointment (we were already setting him up somewhere else but wanted to get him seen sooner to get his yearly vaccines). I was met with rudeness and a complete lack of empathy. The woman I spoke to said we had a balance of $30 or so. We had moved. We never received their letter saying we had owed something. I have become too disabled to work and in the mix up of life, simple human error allowed my husband and I to not realize this was still owed. She told me she would not make an appointment for our dog because “that’s what happens when you promise to lay and don’t.” Absolutely uncalled for hostility. This tells me these people don’t care about pets, let alone their owners. They only care about making money and making doctor work a business, not a true desire to help. I was incredibly disappointed and hurt. As someone who can’t work and had to move to accommodate my inability to utilize stairs, to be met with no desire to be understanding (or even listen to why there was a simple mix up) was humiliating and I’m pretty disgusted.

We took our cat named Fiona here to be spayed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The surgery went well, your could not see the surgery site even one day after the procedure was done.When we took kitty in to be spayed I took my dachshund along for the ride. My dachshund hates veterinary clinics. We took her inside anyway and she fell in love with the staff there.When we returned to pick Fi up, as soon as I pulled in the parking lot my dachshund snorted and waved her paw at me. That's her way of telling me she wanted to go in too. Since she likes this place I intend to start taking her there for her annual physical.

Want to give a huge shout out to Teri at Summit Veterinary Service! Our pup had to get fixed today. When my daughter got home she had a meltdown when she found out that her puppy had to stay overnight and wouldn't be home. Teri helped to put her mind at ease though by letting her video chat with her puppy. Thank you for your spectacular services! If you ever need to take your furry friends to the "pet doctor" I highly recommend this team! :)

Dr. Bates prescribed a medication that not only is not FDA-approved in cats, but after repeated doses has an extremely high risk of causing kidney failure, which quite often is FATAL. There were 12 doses prescribed. Per the emergency appointment, I learned that he would have likely suffered at least a significant amount of kidney damage.I have been taking my pets out there for 20 years. Frequently, when seen by Dr. Bates I have been treated with disdain and he has shown a severe lack of empathy for my pet's health.I had an appointment for a kitty that has been running a fever for 3 weeks. He hadn't come to a conclusion as to why. During a follow-up phone call, when I asked "if his fever doesn't get any better in a few days, what should I do," he responded, "Why would I postulate ifs? You can go somewhere else."After 20 years and never having a single problem with anyone there, with the exception of Dr. Bates, I have been told without reason that I am no longer welcome at the center.I have been having problems recently regarding visits, treatments, follow-ups, running, and being charged for tests I never asked for... I've spent over $1000 in the last 3 weeks.I honestly have no idea what inspired Dr. Bates decision. And without the other concerns, I wouldn't even be mentioning this, but I would like everyone to know that the center has become apathetic towards the pets and horrible toward their clients.

They are very friendly and my little old man was not scared of this place. They are reasonably priced and very friendly and thorough. Been there twice...once for a skin irritation and last to have my 23 yr old baby put to sleep. They were very good about the end of life and let me hold him to the end...he was very calm and actually had a last smile for me thru his pain. They took care of the arrangements for him and sent me a very sweet card with foot prints included. I would recommend them for any care your best furry friend needs. Thank you all for giving me the peace of mind needed at the end.

Dr. Bates is by far the best veterinarian. He does an excellent job taking care of my Dutch Shepards and our cats. The staff is excellent. We have boarded our animals there and they always come home in great spirits and clean. The prices that they charge are always more than fair.

Summit Veterinary is my everyday go to. I don't just trust one person at this clinic, I trust them all!I know they don't know what to think of me. I am sure they see my name on the schedule and draw straws... (I wouldn't blame them)Even though I have the "Crazy Animal Lady" gene; they are always attentive, patient, kind, knowledgeable and stay focused on the need of my animal ... while answering my questions.This is a great Vet Clinic.I would definitely recommend.

I was hesitant changing vets after moving to New Bloomfield. After taking my lab in the first time I felt very comfortable bringing my other dog in as well. Their staff is astonishing. They treat my dogs with respect and are always very friendly and understanding. I had to take my dog in for an emergency and right away Dr. Bates was ready at the clinic. She was ready the next day! It doesn't take weeks to schedule an appointment (usually one day or less!) and their prices are competitive. Their staff is very professional and always explain themselves well. I have zero complaints and will continue to bring my animals to this clinic without hesitation. Thank you everybody for being so professional and courteous.

I have taken all of my animals to Dr. Bates for years they have ALWAYS been professional, caring and knowledgeable. I have had many emergencies and not once dissatisfied with any service or treatment from the staff. They have always went above and beyond and truthful even if it was something I didn't want to hear. Over the years I have had 13 pets (still have 4) and not once disappointed in their treatment or services. I have been so blessed to have such a caring and honest team in my corner for all these years and recommend them to everyone. They cannot perform unrealistic miracles but they sure try and come close.

WOW RUDE! I began taking my animals here in 2013 - owed them nothing, always paid the day I was provided service. My cats are entirely inside, healthy and didn't happen to require care for over a year. I rescued a kitten we found and called to try to get her seen first thing - and was told by Stacy, the manager, that because my other two cats were not seen in over a year, that my account is inactive and they are not accepting new patients! REALLY?????!!!!! So, not only do I have to establish myself with a new vet for our new kitten - my older cats are without the vet they grew up with and knows their history. This is literally the dumbest business model ever.

I love the drs and staff it summit veterinary services. They are always very kind and helpful with every need and question I have for them no matter how big, small, or silly seaming they may be. They always make time for me and take wonderful care of my furbabies needs. They have always gone above and beyond for me and my four legged kids. They were even gentle and compassionate when it was time for one to cross the rainbow bridge. I will always take my furbabies there and never hesitate to recommend them.

I am so happy I went here! We found out my female was pregnant. She is 5 and was shot as a pup. This is her 1st litter. And her only litter!!! I love the doc and all the nurses. I have been loyal to a diff vet in my town but I'm very picky about my girls vet. Im so happy I finally found a vet rebel and I are comfortable with and love. Thanks too all the staff and to doc.
