Very easy DG to get in and out of. They carry alcohol if you need a quick cold drink, most basics like milk, bread and eggs, as well as fresh produce. Nice home goods areas and lots of snacks. Self or assisted checkout.

The staff are kind & very helpful.I would give 5 stars except; doors are manual which is hard to get through with the cart.They have a lovely display set up for seasonal items sold there. At a reasonably price.Food prices are stiff (expensive).Location is in the mall section- center of town. Perfect for the small town of Holts Summit, Missouri.When you're in need of a smile, feeling welcome and need a few necessities.Shop here 👍👍👍👍

Hate being racially profiled. I am the only person in the story and was in an aisle in full view of the front desk. Instead of keeping her suspension to herself and simply watch me this white rude and completely ignorant employee decided to stop what she was doing and stand right next to me to stock the shelf..wow 😳 have a little shame with your racist mindset like wow . I was so uncomfortable I never want to come back

Nice store but 1 staff member has been VERY RUDE. Staff member follows you around store and makes you feel very uncomfortable. I used to shop there several times a week due to convenience, but now I drive out of my way to The New New Bloomfield store. They are ALWAYS friendly and helpful

to the lady at the checkout that told my cousin you have to be 30 to buy a lighter… you should do some research and maybe read the handbook again because lighters don’t have an age restriction, unless the store decides to put one for 18+… definitely not 30. what kind of sense does that even make? people can but cigarettes and guns at 21 but can’t buy a lighter until 30?? somethings not adding up here, and i was definitely not ok with someone lying straight to our face saying “there was a law change”. please do better.

We pulled up 12 minutes before they closed. Before we even got to the door one of the employees opened the door and shouted “5 minutes until we close” after being there for just a few minutes she began to yell how many minutes we had left before we had to leave. I have worked in customer service long enough to know that you don’t tell your customers to leave when they are in the store, even if they come in 2 minutes before you close. Let alone yell at all the customers how much time they have left like it’s a game show. This is all beside the fact that they were trying to close early. Won’t be coming back that’s for sure. I’ll drive the extra few miles for some decent customer service, I would be embarrassed. Guess that’s what we get for grabbing one thing and leaving.

I was extremely impressed with betty's kindness. She helped me not only with pricing several items, she also checked out all of the clearance items I had from lawn and garden with a smile. She was very fun and energetic and I appreciated her kindness. Very much! I look forward to shopping at this dollar general location again. I was very pleasantly surprised at the fresh fruit and groceries available.

This is the best Dollar General i have been to. Wonderful customer service even when they are busy. Always kind and everyone has a great personality. They make me laugh every time i go in! Ask me how my day is and they are very caring. Very helpful if I cant find something.☺ Thank you.

This is the Biggest Dollar General I've been to...not from the area it was in. All the Dollar Generals near my house are simple, a small grocery, small clothing section, small odds and ends etc.. This one seemed to have almost everything someone would need. I plan on stopping by every time I'm in this area, as needed. The prices beat out the other local stores. Sure, they don't have all the specialty items. But your everyday stuff is covered.

Store has been noticeably updated in the last four years which was probably the last time I visited this particular dollar general. As with nearly any DG store it appeared cluttered with too much product and not enough space to put the product away neatly. Employees were friendly but not over friendly to where it can be semi annoying to the weary shopper. It would be helpful to shoppers and possibly the employees if the store did not appear to be so full of items. I feel isles have always been narrow as well. This is a noticeable trend in most Dollar General stores and not just this one in particular. I did enjoy that the parking was not an issue as there were several up close parking spots to choose from during the time I visited this particular store. The store although cluttered did appear to be clean for the most part. I also noticed the employees on shift worked well together, which may seem slighly insignificant, but I have frequented stores where there is little semblance of team work. This makes for a better shopping experience for the patron when employees are professional in nature. Overall Ibwould visit the store again when and if I am in the neighborhood.

Service isn't happy, as one who works in retail I know how you should address customers. Items weren't put back in place when found out of place (I spent minutes organizing the cards that were wrong so I could see more cards). If you don't mind spending a bit of gas, go to the dollar general in new bloomfield. Much better

Seems dirty and understaffed, but I can always get my mild beef sticks here. People are always great to talk to, and it kinda' feels like home (because Dollar General). This is a mask suggested store.

The Dollar general store at Apache flats is where I was shopping this particular time. The store is dirty and very unorganized. Many items were out of stock. only one employee checking while there was eight customers standing in line to check out. I do not like this particular Dollar general store due to the dirtiness and the lack of good customer service .

I prefer new Bloomfield dollar general. But I was at a friend's house and thought I would try Holt summits store again since first experience was awful. I can honestly say I will never walk in Holt Summit dollar general again..I have never been treated so badly at any store..I will stick with our new Bloomfield store..I can't believe the difference in the stores..Holt Summit rude, rude and hateful

Anything's better than the one in Ashland. They've got to be the worst. Shelves are never stocked. Always boxes everywhere and you can hear the employees shouting gossip across the store as you walk in.

I asked where travel side stuff was...they used to have it. But havnt seen it. Asked clerk. Her expression was DUMB-founded. She said unsure...that it should be over there. Without pointing needless to say never found it. And when I checked out I said yes man thank you. She said nothing. Young people these days are rude. Have no respect. Of you don't want to work at Dollar General....go the f to school get a degree and work somewhere else.

The Dollar General in Holt's Summit is a top notch DG experience! Customer service has always been first class, and with their expanded grocery section it makes it even easier to avoid big name stores and crushing crowds. Prices are lower than other stores for some things, higher on some kitchen supplies and sundries, but the average effect is monthly savings! Oh, and pet supplies are almost always cheaper here than at other, larger stored nearby.

Customer is partly to blame on this one. Lady was taking her time unloading her buggy, item by item, then after the young lady rang up her purchases, ( people 5 deep in line behind) the lady customer started disputing prices that had rang up, all the while undaunted by those of us standing patiently awaiting our turn. Now.Whilst this was taking place, another employee, I ascertained was management due to the fact he was counting money at the register directly next to the aforementioned register. My take on the situation was/is the mgr. could have put $ he was counting up in a secure local and maybe opened another register to keep the line flowing fluently.Now.I have a few years retail/ cust.serv. experience so I have dealt with similar situations successfully, so instead of pitching the proverbial fit , I set my items down on the closest shelf and left the business. Also ,,, bad,,BAD practice to count money out in the open, right by the front doors no less.

My children were just accused of stealing. Officer Billingsley of the Holts Summit Police Department had stopped and given each of the 2 children a color book, they had a nearly empty bag of chips that came from my house and a container of near empty icing that we had been given from the food bank. The girls had stopped there on the way back from the park with the little ones. When I called to talk to the manager, an acting manager said that the girls had been caught stealing from there before. THAT IS A BLATANT LIE. I have spent thousands of dollars in that store. I REGRET THAT AND DOLLAR GENERAL SHOULD HAVE SOME QUICK EMPLOYEE FIRINGS! I couldn't post without a star or I wouldn't have put 1 star.

Most items are cheaper than a typical store. However fruit/veges are pricey. Staff is awesome.
