Honestly, it's surprising this place is still in business. I figured I'd give this place a shot a few times and never find any deals, but the parking lot is always empty when I arrive so thats a tale sign of the place..For a discount store it's not very "discount". Coming from Texas I've seen discount stores and this is a terrible one. Lots of surplus in Missouri and Northern Arkansas that are better. Found alot of the sauces, and canned goods to be expired, found the exact same sausage meat frozen 20 minutes down the road for $2.50, half the price of this places "sale" price of 4.99 from 6.99 I can purchase 3 for the price for one of theirs regular price. Two stars for selection. Minus three for price. You're not going to sell something for $13 that expired in 2017 (not kidding) when one that expires in 2025 can be had for $10. Don't bother with the health and beauty stuff.Now of you're looking for mass produced Chinesium tchotchke's then this is your place!

You know how many food items have relatively arbitrary expiration dates because it's required by the FDA? You can buy those expired items here. The unopened bag of chips that is 2 months past its date? They are still good and only $1.99 here instead of $4.99! It's all about managing expectations. You don't compare this store with the usual grocery store. It has a niche. I wish there was a store like it near me.

Very outdated food and over the counter meds, which shouldn't be out for sale at the regular store prices. And you buy anything that might look worth buying it, taste horrible. Not worth the time or money.

They have a large inventory to pick from. They have good prices and stand behind whatever they sell. We go here for lots of variety when we shop. We think they have the best prices on the frozen foods they offer. Good place for buying cereal and other drinks and condiments and canned goods. They are always very friendly and pleasant to talk with. Owner is very hard worker and has the cutest little girl who is as nice as her mommy.

Honestly, if you're not shopping here 1st, you're missing out on really good savings. Really amazing frozen food section. Great prices! Surprising variety... good quality/excellent $$ on bulk buy frozen items, and dry goods. Variety items great prices and about half cost on OTC meds.100% recommend!

First time visit, had a friendly staff, lots of reasonable prices. We did notice the cereal was dated for last year and even back into 2018, so we didnt buy any of that. Dates are the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars. Check the dates on it, a lot of what we got was not far past its date or was still plenty in date. Frozen foods were priced well, our biggest focus. Fresh veggies looked good. We will return here.

Being its a surplus place, you need to check over any bread and groceries you buy. I bought 5 perishable items and a week later they are still fine. However I did see some bread in store that had beginning of mold. Over all I was pleased. Will return.

They sell damaged freight with a really cheap price. Someone of the goods are already passed their expired date. They also have great selection of frozen food. If you are lucky, there are some furniture for sale also. My wife and I love to visit this store and do our shopping here.

Taney County Surplus seems to be somewhat of a combination discount store and thrift shop.The store is essentially divided into three sections. In the front part, there is a small area containing some kitchen utensils, house wares, cook books, OTC meds, and other items. The majority of the front area houses a variety of food items including pasta/rice, salad dressings and condiments, canned goods, and beverages. A limited amount of fresh produce, and a pretty broad assortment of snacks are available as well.The rear of the store has multiple freezers with a good variety of meats (hamburger, chicken breast, bacon, sausage, etc.), and a selection of family sized prepared meals. There are a few other random items here as well.Prices vary greatly... as does the selection of items for sale. Some items are deeply discounted (usually because they are at or beyond their recommended "use by" dates), and other prices are about what you would see at Walmart. The frozen meat definitely is the best bargain in my opinion.You should check "use by" dates... many items are expired by anywhere from a few weeks to several months. I purchased several items that were a few weeks (and in one case 4 months) beyond the "use by" dates, but none were spoiled or unusable.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Other reviews indicated the store was dirty/disorganized, but that was not the case on my visit. I would say it is worth at least one trip to TCS to see if any bargains are available for your specific needs.

Love this store. It's cheap great things to buy super friendly staff. Me and my fiance go almost every time we get paid and can find almost anything so we buy a little for food meals during the week. Great place. I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Huge selection of everything, even frozen food! Great markdowns and deals. Seasonal items, pet items, I don't know what else. Got some things I needed and a great wind chime but I want to spend more time next time because they have so much to look at.

I was overcharged on my transaction, if an item tag was 0.89 they rang it up for 0.99 or 1.99. I purchased 23 items and they rung me up for 27. I called the store once I noticed what happened and she told me there wasn’t anything she can do but give me an in store credit for a couple bucks, or “what I believe I was overcharged for”Then I logged into my bank account today, and was charged twice for this, plus the second transaction was $5 more than the original!!!not to mention everything is out of date... really expensive trip for food that expired last year.

Clean not as much expired items! And very reasonable on meds needs for granddaughters cold! Didn't have a mask mandate either which for me is neither way I have a medical card not to wear one!

The title says it all, really. Damaged freight--you'll find a lot of things nobody in their right mind will buy. You'll find a few things that are absolute steals. Best feedback I can give is that I haven't visited here a lot, but when I do I think I've always left with something. You'll have to do some searching because aisle organization can be a little rough around the edges in some areas, but it's usually worth the hunt.

I thoroughly love going here every month. You can find just about anything you can imagine here. If you are looking for sauces, this is the place. Love finding coffee here that I could not afford normally. Great people that run the place as well

If you need a few items that are toiletries, cookies, sausage, chicken, energy drinks, etc., for a quick camping/picnic. It got the basics. People are nice and its NOT wading through the typical Branson area mobs.

It wasn't all that great. Most food products were expired. Some items like candy, that's not a big issue. But things like bread and milk are a different matter. There were some good deals on non food items.

Great store. It's about surplus and damaged grocery so yes the cans may have dents and you may find stuff that's past the "Best By date" not a expiration date but the food is great and they have a great return policy. If you don't like it they take care of you. Huge saving to be made shopping here.

Almost full prices on old groceries also most things don't even have a price. I can do better at Country Mart on non expired foods

This is a great place to shop for groceries at half the price from your everyday grocer. The owner works there most all the time and is always willing to help you. They have just about everything you need, if not ask and they will see if they can help and get it for you.
