Poor service. My wife ordered a burger and fries. The cashier took the order and was not friendly. She then took orders from other guests and gave them all the food first and half an hour later gave my wife her food. Reason...., my wife is Spanish but speaks english just fine.First time here and last. Don't visit if you are not white.Edit: appreciate the response but being verbally rude for no reason up front and throughout, and then you purposefully served other guests that came in after her first. Many of which had larger orders. My wife ordered 1 standard hamburger and fries for my 12 year old son who was with her and he observed it all. Most in this area are friendly, but racism exists. My wife is a great person and doesn’t deserve to be treated any differently than other locals, especially not because of race.

DOUBLE E is not only a place to get a great meal, it's like visiting family. Double E is a family run, small business that serves up large portions at a fair price. You may wait a bit longer than you would at a chain restaurant, but your food is fresh and hot. Kevin and Cari also serve their community in many ways. Make the drive to Highlandville and enjoy a delicious meal.

One of the best, filling burgers i’ve ever had. The food only took about 10-15 minutes to get to me (i ordered 3 burgers). Everyone is pissy about the food taking to long, but no one realizes that it’s not a Wendy’s, and they make quality food when you order it. Also the service is not bad like everyone says, the woman who made my food was very kind, and made it very well. I will definitely be coming back, and i live 45 minutes away.

Very friendly service and delicious food! Reminded me of all those little mom and pop cafes I waited tables at when growing up in a small town!! Like a walk down memory lane! Will definitely go back and try other things on the menu!! Can’t go wrong stopping in for a bite to eat. Something on the menu for everyone!!

Very rustic. GREAT food! Awesome service. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She was very helpful with menu selections and very attentive to our needs.As far as desserts, I highly recommend the fried pies! They take about 15 minutes to make, but they are well worth the wait.This is not fast food, it is GOOD food. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was better than I make at home. The chicken sandwich was absolutely the best.While we are down in this area, we plan on eating here a few times.

I heard a friend talking about this place so once I saw a Groupon, I had to get it. Came out to visit with my parents while they were visiting and we left FULL!A relaxing atmosphere made deciding between the many tasty options enjoyable. The food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. I hadn't had such a good burger and tots for a while. Will definitely go back!

An old time atmosphere, very quaint.Food was very good, Staff friendly. Service is not fast, but get over that. Today, we had hamburgers , fries and fried catfish baskets.All very good. In the past, we've tried the milkshakes and fried pies. Yum.If you're not in a hurry, give Double E a try. I think you will be happy you did.

Amazing all homemade delicious food with awesome prices. Wonderful friendly staff. You must get a fried pie no matter what plus its big enough to share. Have not had anything that I didn't like so far. Check Groupon they usually have a deal on there. You won't be disappointed!
